Howdy folks. How's all of my fellow Yelpers doing? Now I realize that some of you who have been following my reviews for sometime may be wondering why I am reviewing a McDonald's. Well, this is no ordinary McDonald's. This is the Burnaby McDonald's in beautiful British Columbia. So without any further due, let's get into this bad boy. Or girl, depending on which way you swing. Before I go any further, I want to explain to ya all why this particular McDonald's is so special to me. This is the location where Nathaniel Christopher's "Nathaniel Investigates" video was filmed. For those you who are not familiar with who this is, check out Nathaniel Christopher on YouTube. The man is a legend of British Columbia. So let's get into the review of this legendary McDonald's location. This McDonald's recently went through a renovation to give it a more refreshing look. That is pretty much the case with many McDonald's across North America, and probably the world for that matter. Personally, I miss the former look as it gave the building a more retro look. For example, the previous look had a sign above the door that was shaped like a box of french fries and it had the McDonald's Arch placed in the middle. I don't know why, but stuff like this really stands out. Or at least to me it does. Now going inside of the Burnaby McDonald's I noticed that the inside had also been renovated. But I guess that is to be expected. Like they would renovate the exterior of the building and not the interior. Come on Nathanial. But despite all of this, it still had that friendly neighborhood feel that has come to make it so special. Anyways, I was just so thrilled to be here that I couldn't even think of what to order. That is the kind of affect that this place has had on me over the years. I decided to go with an iced coffee from the McCafe. You can't go wrong with one of those. And believe me when I say that this is one of the most delicious iced coffees that I have ever tasted in my life. It had just the right amount of carmel pumps to give it that favorable taste that would ultimately lead to that amazing stimulating sensation that I would end up feeling within' me. I don't know what they are doing here in Canada that they ain't doing back home in The States. But this thing was one of the most delicious beverages that I've ever tasted in my "Nasty" life. Seriously, drinking this iced coffee was better than s**. That and Canada Bob's margarita at the Ivanhoe Pub. I'm going to end this review by pointing out the fact that there are many options when it comes to fast food. Furthermore, there are many options when it comes to eating at a McDonald's. There is no shortage of them in Metro Vancouver. However, the McDonald's on East Hastings in Burnaby tops them all. So no matter where you happen to be in the Greater Vancouver area, definitely head over to the Burnaby McDonald's. You won't be disappointed. If you are, there's always Tim Horton's. I've never actually been inside this McDonald's location, but I'd always order food delivery service from here. Their fries seems to be hit or miss... It is either freshly cooked or not, salted or unsalted. Their poutine is usually better but that's only because gravy has to be warm, but the fries may not always be fresh. So odd. They also sometimes get our orders wrong or they aren't reading special instructions properly or at all. Lots of parking and delivery service to your car. read more

This is a busy McDonald's location. The drive-thru set up is unsafe. You have walk past the drive-thru traffic to get into the McDonald's from the parking lot if you plan to dine-in. Service is alright for a busy restaurant. I ordered a caramel sundae and a dollar drink. I really missed their strawberry sundaes. Hope they bring it back one day. read more

McDonald's - Fast Food Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

There are many McDonald's franchises along the Hastings strip, but this is the one I ordinarily stop at on my way back to base following a lengthy work shift. The drive-thru is never excessively backed up, and I like this site as there is a direct exit ramp from Hastings St travelling west, so it's easy to pull in without any hassle. This restaurant always prepares my order promptly, without making me park off to the side for an eternity like some locations do. Glad to know that this facility is here to allow me to grab a quite bite to eat every night without delaying my journey back to the office. read more

Came here for some summer coffee goodness. Parking is available in a lot behind the building. The location has a decent sized seating area completely with those patio garage doors, but the counter area is WAY too small. Also, the location is only 24h on weekends. Something to keep in mind. The other interesting thing is that I was offered an unflavoured (ie no sugar or syrup) McCafe - didn't know this was an option. Will try this at the other locations. I find the regular flavours a bit too sweet. read more

Service here is a hit or miss. In the morning, the service is generally good. However, towards the afternoon (when the younger crew comes in) the service starts to depreciate. On several occasions I've had items missing from my order so be sure to check before leaving! read more

Found a worm in their hashbrown. One of their staff almost caused damage to my car and in follow up there response has been automated. I have sent multiple emails and there is still not an adequate response. So this tells me they do not care about the cleanliness of their restaurant and do not care whether or not their staff causes damage to the cars of their customers. In fact it appears they approve of their staff being aggressive and potentially violent towards their customers. There are other locations with better staff. Although finding that worm in that hashbrown pretty much tells me that people are better off going to Wendy's or A&W as opposed to McDonalds. But if you do go to McDonald's make sure you have dash cam and/or are recording just in case they damage your car. Don't trust they will have an integral response. read more

"Alex lets try New for the 80s, for $200." This new product for 1983 crossed the street and is still with us today. "Alex, what is the Chicken McNugget." Today I started with a 6 McNugget meal with a McDouble. (my go to usual meal) Hold the phone, "I will have that McDub with NO pickle and add bacon, you what change that normal boring cheese to that Jalapeno burger cheese. WOW! pretty good if I do say so myself! Now the quality of the Nuggets was only about a 6.73 out of 10. Fries, I like them a bit squishy, just slightly above average. 7.11 out of 10. Pop, this McDs has a problem serving sub-adequate syrup amounts, today 9.6 out of 10. McDub, only 7.03 out of 10 for the assembly of the burger, with the addition of bacon, subtraction of the pickle, and calling an audible at the line of scrimmage with the cheese bumped the over all Mcdub experience to a 9.217 out of 10. As much as many people enjoy McDonalds to either cure their needs for greasy junk food or just to get a quick coffee, one must never trust the fact that they are getting a good meal. So I decide to get a quarter pounder with fries and coke. The fries were kinda greasy and the scary part about the fries is that, 5 years ago, I saw McDonalds fries in my gym teacher's trunk. He told me those fries were from 20 years ago and to this day, they still look the same which is not a surprise for me to see how much chemicals they put into their fries. This McDonald's is so rude and always gets your order wrong! Don't go here. I went here after a long night of work with my boyfriend to get a m and m McFlurry he asked for extra m and ms. After getting the McFlurry there were barely any. When we asked the lady if more could be added cause there was any she asked the other worker. Which she responded "what are you talking about I put so much in" and gave us a look. And today when ordering I order a 10 piece nugget meal with a cheese burger with bacon. They told me to wait at the grill stall. And when I got my meal it was 6 pieces and the cheeseburger I had to thus go back in which the lady apologies but when I asked for an extra sauce. (How Can I eat 10 pieces with one sauce....) she gave me this face after leaving and coming home I opened my cheese burger and it had no bacon in it paying 2 extra dollars for nothing I called this location 5 times and no one is picking up. They don't give you a receipt either so you can't complain. Honestly this is the worst McDonald's ever. read more

Not sure what the point of curbside pickup is, every time I pickup here I wait and watch as people who arrive after myself go through the drive-thru and get their orders. Stop offering this service, it is clearly beyond your means. read more

I love McDonalds but this is one of the slowest locations. One person on register during rushes, very slow expedition of orders. Overall probably my least favourite location to go to. read more

Worst McDonalds in the lower mainland. Don't ever expect your order to be correct. Make sure you take a look in the bad before you drive away. I have gotten home and found burgers with no patties in them on multiple occasions. Super slow service too. Head office should really go and sort this place out. read more

Will drive out of my way to pass this McDonald's and go to any other location. Order has been wrong countless times. Even if I check the bag before I drive off, there will still be mistakes once I open the boxes such as 9 nuggets in a 10 piece, no lettuce, old product. When you call to tell them about your problem, they are very rude and act like you're trying to scam them, or they say you'll get a "free" item next time, even though the item is one you already paid for and they didn't give you in the first place (lol that's not what free means)! read more

Service was slow and ridiculous. Ordered a bacon mcdouble and junior chicken with no mayo. The person taking my order thought I said "junior chicken with no bun".... Accidents happen and I completely understand. However, the way they responded to this was ridiculous.
