Traveling from Northern California to Southern California and back, we have been stopping at almost every single McDonalds in the hunt for the BT21 happy meal toys. Disappointment after disappointment, we stopped at the Buttonwillow McDonalds and I was expecting the character they had was one that I didn't need. Aylin Reyes, the manager, asked if I needed help. I told her I was looking for Van and she said she would go to the back to look for it. To my delight, she came back with Van. I graciously thanked her with excitement and she asked if there were any other characters I was looking for. I asked her if they had the poster with the roll of stickers and she said yes and they most likely had all the characters. What?!!!! She said if there were others that I wanted I would have to write them down because she would have to go back downstairs to get them. I just asked her for a whole set. Within minutes, she returned with the entire set! My hunt is over thanks to Aylin Reyes! I hope she sees this because I told her that I was going to leave a review on Yelp. This McDonald's is at a rest stop so I was not surprised when it was crowded. Fortunately, the bathrooms were for the most part clean. The paper towels were sitting on the baby changing table. There were hand dryers. We mobile ordered and when we picked it up, the order was correct. We decided to eat in at a table. It appears that someone goes around semi-regularly to wipe the table tops. To get a refill on your soda, you have to go back to the counter and ask them for the refill because there isn't a soda machine out in the open. Lots of parking, clean bathroom and seating area. Stopped to get an Ice Coffee via the Mobile App offers, and use the Bathroom. Pricing at McDonalds can be hit and miss, but mobile app special pricing is a great equalizer. Helpful counter person took my order which made the experience less problematic given the App almost never retains my Coffee customizations. read more

This location is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. We ordered our food in the kiosk. It was fast and easy. The food was brought to our table and offered to bring sauces back. One bathroom stall lock is busted, I understand this is a high traffic location which makes it 1000x more important to keep bathroom clean, stocked up and nothing should be broken as an old saying how clean is the bathroom reflects how clean the restaurant is. read more

The interior is nice and modern but the people who fill the bag with the order do NOT prepare the order completely. When you're on the road again, you discover something isn't right. This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to the service was terrible. I asked for a vanilla shake. They gave me a chocolate one when I went and asked for a vanilla shake. They gave me a caramel shake. They are unintelligent and don't know how to run a restaurant I'd recommend that you never come here. I believe this may possibly be one of the worst McDonald's I've been to. I placed a mobile order about 15 minutes in advance of arriving. Once I arrived, I went to the mobile pickup area but my food was not there. Oddly, I was told I needed to go through the drive thru to pick it up. Fortunately, there was no line, so I pulled up directly to the window. I showed the person at the window my order number and he told me I would need to loop back to where the speakers were and give them my order number. I refused to do so and asked if he could look at my mobile number and give me my food. After handing him my phone three times, he called another worker up and they asked me to pull forward and they would bring my order to my car. About 7-8 minutes later my food was brought to my car. 30 minutes of my life wasted. Wasn't worth the hassle for a couple of breakfast burritos and a sandwich. read more

This was the worst McDonald's experience ever. I waited 20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. There were people waiting to order, including some elderly customers who needed help. I called out from the back, and the guy said, "That's why we have kiosks." I pointed out that they also had an unmanned register, and I was certain someone was supposed to be managing the register and dining area. They informed me that they didn't have lattes, and I requested a refund. One minute later, a girl brought me a coffee and said it was a latte. The food was soggy, and the Egg McMuffin was the size of a baseball. I'm completely done with McDonald's. read more

Mc Donald's seems to be the poor stepchild of Yelp, always getting called out for failing to be as good as your local burger place or other such sins. As a McDonald's this location was excellent. Stopped here for a mc muffin before breakfast hours ended. We also used the restroom, which was very clean and a pleasant surprise. The overall interior of the restaurant looked clean as well. The service wasn't memorable, which could be viewed as a good thing because I would remember if it was bad. My mc muffin was made perfectly, temperature was good and fresh. One of our go-to stops when we head down to SoCal. Lots of parking, though lighting could be better. Renovated and clean dining area, employee making rounds often to clean. Well labeled pick up and order areas, with four self order kiosks. Lots of seating, and even outdoor seating. Only downfall, but not completely as it maintains the cleanliness, is that the soda dispensers are behind the counter. Unsure how refills work, but didn't need one this time around. My main perk - restrooms were clean! And had decent diaper changing station. Just wish they had paper towels, but the two hand dryers were effective. read more

I feel most the time people leave reviews for fast food joints is if they had a bad experience. My experience was great! This McDonalds is one of the upgraded ones new tables and seats. Very clean inside. One of the things that made it great was the service! A young man walked around the tables asking if people needed anything. On our way home from SoCal to NorCal, stopped in for a little lunch. We have been here several times but due to COVID usually ate in the car. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the Double QP with Cheese meal, and wifey had the QP with Cheese meal (special order). She had a Hot Fudge Sundae as well for dessert... I have to say that this was one of the best meals I've had at Mickey D's in a LONG TIME! The food was PERFECT. Hot, fresh, looked kinda like the pictures. Fries were beautiful, and hot. The only issue was she felt that they were a little stingy with the hot fudge. The cleanliness of this place was AMAZING! Everything was spotless. The restrooms were so clean. Very impressive. Don't know why they have so many bad reviews. Recently stopped by on the way to SF. The restaurant is very clean, and offers lots of seating. They also have good AC since it was pretty warm outside. Not much to say on service since they have you order on the kiosk, but I don't really mind, I'm not much of a people person anyways. Food was good, it was your average McDonald's. Our hash browns were nice and fresh and extra crispy! I did however, have an incident occur in the bathroom. It wasn't the restaurants fault nor am I blaming them, but just a reminder to all people who pass through here, especially women, be careful of your surroundings! A man entered the women's bathroom while I was in there alone. I was hesitant to write this review, because this is our favorite McDonalds on the stretch of I-5 that we travel. It's not even remotely busy compared to the other McDonalds (Kettleman, Firebaugh, Tejon, etc). Unlike the other locations, this location was actually accepting mobile orders. The staff are super nice and the bathrooms are clean. Probably because it's not super busy. I wish there was more shaded eating spots outside. read more

It's been a couple years since my last review so I figured it was time for a refresh. This place is now a solid 5 stars. Honestly, I'm not sure why there are so many low star reviews. Here's why I score this high: - The facilities are clean. The restrooms in particular got a redesign and are nice. - The ordering system got improved (much like all McDonalds locations) to use a kiosk and table number system. - This particular location is well aware of travelers and includes a dedicated table space power bank for charging phones - nice touch. - Most importantly, the food is fresh. Fries were hot and clearly newly made. Chicken sandwich was also tasty. It's not necessarily amazing but c'mon people... It's fast food, not a culinary dining experience. Just before the statewide shelter in place order came down, My wife and I were on our way back from Los Angeles. Lots of traffic on I-5, but we had to get some lunch, so we opted for Micky D's. Not busy so we were able to sit a booth away from other people. The restrooms were ok. One regular Big Mac one double Big Mac fries and a strawberry shake. I never had the double Big Mac and it was pretty good. The double Big Mac has 4 ground beef patties 2 more then the regular Big Mac. This McDonalds is located in a busy truck stop at the junction of Hwy 58. The drive through had a constant stream of cars. Service is fast. Large parking lot. read more
