I had to make a quick trip out there to Bakersfield to take care of some work business. It was a 2 hr drive from Long Beach so not super bad, but sure got me hungry for some lunch. I didn't wanna spend a bunch of time for some sit down lunch, I just wanna get back to Long Beach. So, where else to stop for some consistent no matter the location tasty food? It's In N Out! I just heve one of my crew with me so ordering is easy. I get my usual double double animal style with extra grilled onions, order of fries and a drink. Diet for me this time on the soda. My friend orders the same basically but she wants the animal style fries which is basically an order of fries with secret sauce (1000 Island dressing) and cheese melted in the microwave. I've had it before, but not really my thing, I'd rather have my fries the regular way. Wait wasn't too long and we munched down on our lunch food. Well actually, this location is not busy. Yes, can you believe that you are not busy. Well if the amount of salt they use is normal, I can understand why. They are killing off all their customers. I almost turned around to return everything and complain but if you are following, today was a 10+ hour road trip. Service - The cashier had the hardest time ringing us up. Took like 5 minutes for two burgers and a fry... They had to call the other two cashiers up to help the other two customers behind me. Then the team that put our food together did NOT put our food in car trays... Yet the ticket clearly stated that, see picture. The struggle. In summary, the cashier failed. The cooks/ "salt bae" failed, the expeditor failed... So management failed in this location! Price - $12, inexpensive typically. But because we could NOT eat this, it was a waste of $$. This is one of my favorite Burger places. It's consistently good. I never liked the fries, but one visit I asked for them lightly fried. They were amazing. Made such a difference in the taste. This location is conveniently located off the 99. It can get very busy since it shares a parking lot with Walmart so just a heads up. Easy to find location. Stopped by for my usual double double and decided to go mustard fired with extra cheese. Whoever made my sandwich made it with love because that thing looked PERFECT. For $15 bucks, my wife and I had dinner (she got a cheeseburger animal style with a combo) and it was so damn good and very cheap considering how expansive things are now in 2024 . My husband and I aren't consuming gluten right now so eating out has been really difficult! We were on a road trip and decided to try in and out because they offer protein style. We've had in and out so many different times, but we always eat their regular cheeseburgers, and their animal style fries, which are amazing! This time we both just got lettuce, wrapped burgers. It was pretty good for being fast food. But I am realizing that it is not as seasoned as I thought it was when I used to get it with a bun. This particular location was very busy! They had a very long drive-through line that wrapped around the parking lot and the entire parking lot was pretty full. We decided to go inside and that was a better choice because they took our order right away. The person who took our order was very sweet and helpful and accommodating to our diet restrictions . I mean who doesn't like burgers? Or more specifically, In-Out burgers at that! Nothing negative to say. Got extra onions on that and the burger was slapping! The patty was also not overdone and can see a bit of pink as you take a bite. The bun is slightly toasted and the cheese is just the the right melt. This place was the biggest In and Out I've ever seen. It was lunchtime and there were only 4 cars in the drive thru. Our local store never has less than 10 cars in line no matter what time of day so I was already impressed before I set foot in the store. Bathrooms were very clean, and didn't require a code to enter. Based on the proximity to the freeway, this was unexpected and made me very happy. They have a huge amount of parking, including some long spaces for RVs and trucks towing a boat, etc. The dining room was full when we got there (we saw 2 tour buses outside), and I was worried it would take forever to get our food. Miraculously we got our food quickly. They have a huge kitchen, and everyone was well organized and appeared to be well managed. I observed someone who seemed new getting coached. Very nice coaching styke. Highly recommend if you're traveling the 99. They are right off the freeway and it super easy to get back on the freeway with your food. Great location! read more

So I took a long road trip one winter weekend. This road trip took me across two states and three major cities. On the first leg of that trip, I stopped by this In N Out in Bakersfield while en route to northern California. And much like many other In N Out locations, this place did a good job of taking care of us. The drive-thru lines here were long, which was expected. But the line was kept moving at a decent rate, and we didn't have to wait too long to get our food. The burgers, fries, and drinks were made exactly as ordered, and they were delicious. The second time coming here that weekend was during my drive home. The drive was long, about 5.5 hours, and the first half had either dense fog or heavy rain. I was glad that it was a clear road by the time I got to this area. But I was famished. Lo and behold, this same In N Out that served my girlfriend and I well a day ago was within range. So here I came to get some food for the last leg of my trip. This time, there wasn't much of a line, which is expected when it's almost 2AM. The food was as good as expected, as was the customer service. This location is convenient if you're travelling up and down the 99 freeway in the central California valley. Give em a shot. read more

Well, it's no surprise...once again, I've had a wonderful meal at another In-N-Out location, this one on Panama Lane, in Bakersfield. And, that's one thing I really like about this fast food establishment: That I can always expect a high-quality meal at In-N-Out, regardless of the particular location. I ordered one of my simple favorites: a Double-Double with fries and a soda. It was delicious, as usual, and it hit the spot. My meal was freshly made, and delivered quickly by a friendly In-N-Out employee. It was a nice day, so I ate outside at one of their little tables. While visiting this location, I noticed how clean the restaurant was, inside and outside. The drive thru appeared to be operating efficiently as well. Most in-n-out burgers are extremely similar, so this review wont be very long. I don't usually use this location but it is close to my work, so occasionally I stop here. It seems to always be less busy than the stockdale location, which is nice! Of all my visits, my food is typically very fresh and delicious just as expected from this company. I will say though this is the only in-n-out I have EVER been to (and I've visited hundreds of times in various states over the years with perfect orders from all of them) that has misheard me asking for 2 packets of spread, and actually given me 2 cups of peppers instead. I have no idea how those 2 get confused for each other, but it was incredibly disappointing to get home only to realize I had no spread! He's very efficient and has an amazing attitude. We ordered animal style burgers; and asked for toasted buns; it tasted dry and if it just came out of the plastic bag, not toasted at all. Overall, the burger tasted like nothing. Fast when you go inside but service is not friendly. The pushy manager or shift supervisor was very disorganized and loud. The drive thru line was long so I went inside while my husband and 2 young kids waited in the car. It happened to be raining and I heard that kids get free hot coco on rainy days. I asked about that and the cashier asked the manager because he didn't know about it, and the manager said that they need to see the child. I said, they're in the car and it's raining. I didn't go to in n out for the free hot coco, so it didn't really matter to me but would've been a nice treat for the kids. It seemed rude the way the manager accused me of trying to get free hot coco. I didn't like the way she said they needed proof of the children. Seemed a little accusatory but I could just be sensitive. Maybe I could show her my stretch marks or bring in their birth certificates. Either way, food came out fast so that was pleasant.
