Not sure just how much I can comment on a McDonald's in regards to service, etc. Everything was standard, and I didn't have to wait too long for a single order of poutine. This review is specifically on their poutine. I was in town and tried as many different poutines as possible, and my cousin suggested trying McDonald's. Can I just say how pleasantly surprised I was? It was actually really good; like, McDonald's fries are the gold standard, so that + solid gravy and cheese curds? I'm definitely sold. It wasn't the greatest poutine I tried, but it was arguably the most solid. It wasn't heavy but all the components and flavor were there. Will likely grab more poutine from Canadian McDonald's when I'm back in town. I recommend it as a starting point for anyone wanting to do a poutine tour. read more

This review is not about the food quality because it is typical McDonald's, decent enough and what you should expect. Instead I wish to cover some ordering advice. This is the last McDonald's on the way to Canada via I-87 or the first one in the US on the way out of Canada. For that reason it is fairly busy. I stopped here on a trip home from Quebec City and first went inside to order. However, it was quite busy and not looking too fast. So I went back out and used the drive through, which was fairly quick. My advice is to use the drive through even if you want to eat at the restaurant. read more

Do not eat here!!! The absolute worst McDonalds location in the region. Average wait times to get from the intercom to the window are 30 - 45 minutes. once you get to the window they frequently direct you to pull ahead to the third window to wait or to one of the reserve spots, where you wait another 10 - 20 minutes for your meal. you could go to a sit down restaurant, order, and finish eating your meal faster than you can get "fast food" from this location. I work in a different industry but if we're operated with the same level of efficiency at my job that they do here, we would be months behind on our work. The absolute worst. One word: nasty! After a four hour continuous, non-stop drive our tour bus stopped for lunch returning to the Empire State as soon as we crossed the U.S.A. Border. Disorganized line for ordering and picking up orders leads to chaos beyond a war zone just like any other McDonald chain fast food. My order was a simple request: one double cheeseburger; one side salad; one small orange juice; and one small Coke Cola. The cashier could not handle pressure or properly multi-task as she completely misunderstood my order for TWO double cheeseburgers! While I was waiting I glanced at the receipt I noticed two double cheeseburgers were orders rather than one.... the cashier needs to have her ears checked! She then gave me a refund for the extra double cheeseburger, and utter shock with my own eyes I saw her discard my receipt/order! My order came without any drinks which I had to physically show the cashier the receipt that my Mom and I order a small orange juice and a small Coke Cola. The quality of food equates to the service which is downright nasty. This may very well be the worse McDonald's I have ever experienced. The place is dirty. Stopped here on the way through after 6 1/2 hrs of driving. Just needed a quick bite to eat and hit the road again. Bad mistake. Couple of things. We ordered (1) cheeseburger and 1 kids meal. Waited 17 mins to get our order while (1)!!! teenage girl ran around trying to run the register, the window for the drivethru and running out to the vehciles who have pulled up in front of the drivethru windows. 1 kid! What kind of manager would have this happening? Who runs this place. The poor girl , probably 16 years old, looked like she was going to have a nervous breakdown. Rightfully so. This McDonald's location is a new building, but is still a complete train wreck when it comes to efficient service. You could fall asleep in the drive through while waiting for cars to move. Ordering anytime close to closing time will likely result in disaster. They will give you a half full McFlury or deviate from what goes on a sandwich with whatever they have left. I ordered on the app today and it still took 25 minutes to get through the drive through with only 5 cars in front of me. Any other review is irrelevant because I actually live near this Mcdonald's and buy from it nearly every other day. The only reason I keep returning is because I don't feel like driving 25+ minutes out of Champlain to get a bite to eat. Champlain is a dead town and the Mcdonald's here is no exception. Not to mention that it was something I used my points to get for free. I was late back to my job over a free cheeseburger. ONLY ONE ITEM. Secondly, the staff is beyond incompetent. It's the same 2 people killing themselves to run the place, while the manager filters through employees daily like dirty underwear. Every time I go there, they have nearly a whole new staff. Seriously, how hard is it to find a decent employee? If you can't find proper staff, don't rely on a single person to run your Mcdonald's until you figure out a solution. That's why the service is always so horrible, because the manager is arrogant enough to just accept having no staff and run the business anyway. To add the cherry on top, I ask for a receipt EVERY TIME I order, even if the order is only 2 items. And this is because they will take my order, make me sit at the pay-here window for 10 minutes, the food window for another 10 minutes, and then have me PULL UP to the third window for another 10 minutes. and after ALL of that, they still manage to bring me only half of the order. Nearly every time. Mcdonald's has about 6 things on their menu, I truly don't think it's that hard to process. I am also speaking as someone who works in FINE DINING, where you need real brain power to produce a successful service. This Mcdonald's truly is a place for chumps with zero work ethic. I stopped in on 7/21/19 after visiting my father in Burlington Hospital. I went to use the men's room and three male employees were leaning against the wall with their cell phones out across from the urinals. Another employee went into the toilet with his cell phone. I asked the creeps to put the cell phones away or leave. They all reported they were on break and became confrontational. I asked to speak with the manager, Austin, who informed me that they were on break and there is nothing he could do. He saw no problem with them taking break in a bathroom with cell phones. Hi everyone, It is not the dining experience of lifetime. Talking about freshness of food, the quality is not at the render-vous. The restaurant is not clean, table are often dirty and you have to ask employee to clean. I see often, garbage can so full that you can put your own garbage. There is some booth where seat are warn out since a while, no care for maintenance. It is often to clod or to hot to eat in there. Don't ask to change temperature since employee told me it is control somewhere in USA!!!!!! Rest room, outdated and dirty, imagine the kitchen.
