We ordered a big order one day we were there ! When we got home our order was all messed up ! They didn't fix any of the burgers like we asked ! This was spending 70 dollars and nothing was correct ! ! So my husband went up there a few days later to tell them ! He wasn't expecting anything just wanted them to know ! He spoke to the General manager and was totally surprised that he replaced our order no charge ! He was extremely nice and understanding! That was the first time we received bad service at 5 guys ! We have eaten at 5 guys many times in different locations, its always very good, burgers are very juicy, fries are the best ive ever eaten. There milk shakes are very good. Staff is very friendly. Its very pricey, but its always good. We recommend and will go again. read more

Terrible food and service! I usually love five guys but the burger was burnt as were the fries. You can tell they were fried in old oil. My husband ordered a milkshake he had to ask two different people where it was. finally he got it when we were almost done eating. My husband got a blt. The bacon was overcooked and old. Employees not customer orientated. Waited to have my order taken for at least five minutes, made eye contact with staff, felt completely ignored. No acknowledgment or at least a "hello" or "be right with you." I was very close to walking out. Just to mention as well, there were only approximately 5 people in the restaurant at the time and no one at the cash. A total of three burgers prepared and maybe 3-4 patties on the grill. No one was ahead of me in line. When an employee finally came to the cash to take my order, appeared bothered and I could barely understand her mumble at the cash, no greeting that I could understand, even more drowned out by the loud music. I understand that it's Sunday and I've worked food service for many years and would not treat my clientele like this. My meal was served faster than having my order taken. To me this a the standard I appreciate at 5 guys. Peanuts while you wait. Fresh hot burger with fries. Can't really mess it up. The layout of this restaurant is very open. I can peek in and see how the food is cooked. Love the coke machine with all the different flavor combinations. Pro tip: use the paper boat for ketchup. read more

I have to wonder if I got the exchange rate on the amount of fries. Even for a "Little" order of them with my burger, when I opened the bag and looked in, my thought was, "Okay, I see the cup of fries, and a ton of spillover, but no burger; I'm sure it's in there somewhere." Thankfully, yes, it was. This burger was much better prepared than others I've had at other Five Guys recently, still quite juicy. The peanuts were relegated to a stack of boxes in the back of the restaurant, and there were quite a few loose peanuts among them, a bit unusual to me. Every 5 Guys I've eaten at across the US the burgers were cooked fresh to order and served hot and juicy with melty cheese. Not this o e. It was bone dry, room temp, pre-cooked with globs of u melted cheese. This particular spot was my first five guys experience and I haven't stopped coming in since. This is hands down my favorite burger chain compared to all the other popular ones I've tried. I come to Plattsburgh at least once a month and always make it a point to stop here. A little cheeseburger and little fry are very filling. The fry portion is especially huge and I usually end up splitting it, which is hard because they are so crispy and delicious. Employees always seem happy to be there and the dining area is always nice and clean. This is my happy place for sure. read more

Lousy service, lousy food. After ordering 2 small cheeseburgers and an order of fries, we went over to the pick up spot and waited and waited .... It wasn't busy but we watched as other orders were picked up ahead of ours. After they called a large order 5 numbers ahead of ours, I spoked up and asked what happened to my order. Finally after almost 25 minutes my number was called and I picked up the greasy bag. Surprise when I opened the bag at home- found a pile of burnt fries with the burgers. I've had people tell me they're not fans of Five Guys. Not many thankfully, because no one needs that kind of negativity in their life. To be fair, you might be thinking, "whatever, it's just a burger joint." However, you'd be wrong. Very, very wrong. So wrong, in fact, I plan on naming my first heart attack after them. Providing I make it, of course. The burgers are plump, juicy, and although I can't see the crack, I know it's in there. Today, I found out you can get an extra patty. We all claw our way through it until we die, and the way I look at it, we should at least end it doing something more satisfying than eating a pre-chewed burger from McDonald's. Today's visit was my fifth at this location. The quality and consistency has gotten better over time. Today's burger was cooked perfectly and assembled neatly with plenty, but not too much, sauce. It was just messy enough without falling apart while trying to eat it. A good burger has to be a little messy. The fries were also cooked just right and were fresh and crispy. I still can't say it is the best burger I have ever had, but it is a very good one. It is a little pricey, but most burgers other than the top fast food chains are similarly priced. I have tried the Cajun spiced fries that other reviewers mentioned. I don't find them all that spicy, but they are way too salty. It is not a very balanced seasoning. One of the best things is that the staff is always friendly, and the place is always clean. Free peanuts are a nice plus. read more

We always love the burgers here. Unfortunately if you don't say single, you get a double burger which we don't want. This doesn't make sense and it is too much food for some people. That is why we get singles but we don't always remember to order them that way because it seems kind of strange to have to say single when every other place we ever order a burger, you don't get a double unless you order a double. I wasn't able to finish mine and it ruined my dinner. Sometimes the fries are really good but tonight they were terrible. They were dry and without any flavor. Very disappointing compared to what we have had here in the past. The other issue is that the music was so loud that I was shouting to place my order and everyone in the place was yelling. Great burgers. Plenty of topping choices and they don't cost extra. The fries are very good but get the small size, which is still huge. They have call ahead or order online but they don't start cooking it till you get there, which kind of negates the purpose. I have been in the culinary field, both in restaurants, fast food, and up scale bakeries for about 3 years now, which for a man my age is a decent stint of time. It irks me to see such disgraceful business when it comes to being professional and treating employees right. Five Guys is a multi-million, if not bigger, corporation. I am a full time SUNY Plattsburgh student and needed a job, so I went out to get a job for the local Five Guys. I worked at the five guys in Plattsburgh, NY for about a week. Don't get me wrong it is a lovely environment to work in, fast paced, yet easy going due to all the coworker and friends you have around you. However, the reason I say this business is disgraceful is due to how they handle their employees. The store opened about a month and a half ago, and until probably this past week the pay checks have either not been arriving or are "on their way" As i had been told so many times. Me personally, I was only waiting for a few hundred bucks to come, but for some people, including a pal of mine hadn't received pay for 140+ hrs. and some had still been waiting on $900-$1,400 in pay. This, people, is not how to run a business. This also means that for a month or more, employees were essentially working for free. My suggestion is that NO ONE works for this awful company. I lost so much respect for the corporation, and do not like how it is run in any way. Long hours, late nights, stringent attitudes towards full time college students. In fact, and I quote, I had been told one day that I called out of work strictly for schoolwork, "If you do not show up, you don't have a job". So I quit that place, and still have not received all of my money. Five Guys...You have become a disappointment. read more
