I realize my reviews are pretty much the same from location to location but Panera is pretty much the same from location to location. My individual reviews from restaurant to restaurant will only differ slightly. Like all chain restaurants there is a specific model they follow. I like the one that Panera uses. There restaurants are always bright, cheerful and very clean. Condiment stations are always checked and cleaned and tables are constantly being maintained. This was one of the larger locations I have been in. Plenty of tables and chairs here. They even had a fair amount of counter space. Obviously perfect for those coming in to have some coffee and do some computer work. My wife and I came in after dinner out for a little dessert and coffee (I am a coffee club member). The team here was extremely friendly and you could also see this through their own interactions. It was just a muffin, cookie and a cup of coffee. All were good and fresh. Panera certainly has made me a lifetime customer and I always look forward to a visit. read more

Have patience!!! I ordered a bowl of creamy chicken and wild rice soup and a large unsweetened iced tea. I was shocked at the price, it was almost $14., I thought it was a mistake. It wasn't soup was over $8 and change the tea almost $4... it was delicious, came with a piece of baguette, asked for butter and salt and pepper. No lemon of any kind for the tea. Predictable Panera. Stopped in on my way home from Montreal earlier today for a quick bite to eat after being stuck at the border in a long line of cars. I had the bbq chicken flatbread (minus cheese plus arugula) and it was good. My companion had the half salad and half Mac and cheese. Again: good. We used the kiosk to order everything and it was delivered to our table quickly. The kids that work there are very nice-I noticed one young man that went out of his way to help a difficult customer. The only thing that bothers me about most Panera locations - including this one - is that they just can't keep up with the mess that the patrons leave behind. For an outsider who isn't familiar with this chain of restaurants, I view Panera Bread sort of like a cozier Starbucks with more food options. The feel of the restaurant is very relaxed and it's a cross between cafe/bakery/sit-down-eatery. I signed up for their app a while ago and you can get free pastries on your birthday or perhaps after accumulating certain purchases. We tried their pastries, cookies, iced beverages and mac and cheese and truly everything was delicious. The flavors and freshness are there, the service is super friendly and reasonable but the prices are just too high for what it is. For example, a small portion of the "Baja mac and cheese" is $5.69, this is their classic mac and cheese base with chopped up avocado, tomatoes and cilantro sprinkled on. The cup is so small, after 4 or 5 spoonfuls, you are done. Obviously if you are looking for more filling faster food options, you can get a lot more elsewhere. Staff was semi rude about my granddaughter ordering a large kids mac and cheese, also assumed we both wanted bread for side. Being gluten free, I said, no I can't t have bread I will have chips. The buzzer just went if when it was finally our turn, instead of lighting up, and when we received our food, both orders had bread. I took mine back to the windo, and corrected to chips, then spooned through the chicken masala soup (first time having it) and there is absolutely no chicken in it. it's more like spicy lentil soup. Daddie and Dirk were hungry after a day of straight bee ess. So therefore they stopped at Panera. Daddie got an avocado blt and Dirk got an everything bagel with cream cheese. Daddies avocado blt was "bussin" while Dirks everything bagel with cream cheese was honestly a little stale and hard to bite. Even with Dirks big ass shark teeth, Dirk still struggled to eat the everything bagel with cream cheese. The cream cheese was exceptional though. Passed by this location for lunch while on a long road trip. Even though we hadn't been to a Panera for years due to a nut allergy in the family, this time we decided we would stop to see if the restaurant was a feasible lunch choice. The cashier called the manager over as soon as we mentioned the nut allergy, and the manager was very good about informing us about the safe foods we could offer our son. They made a note on the order, and we ended up trying a couple of soups and the macaroni and cheese. The kids enjoyed their meals a lot, even though I found them a little salty. However, we felt reassured that the manager heard our concerns and responded to them in an adequate and competent manner. I left without ordering and here's why: I had to use the bathroom before ordering. I went to the first stall and there was no toilet paper and it looked like someone either spilled or threw up something all over the seat. I moved on to the only other stall which was marked handicapped/baby changing station. Once again no toilet paper. Toilet clogged with floaties and poop on the seat. Baby changing station empty of sanitary sheets and it looked like someone wiped a butt with the hard cardboard remains of the toilet paper roll and just left it on the floor. Plenty of staff just hanging out since the place was empty at 8pm on a Tuesday night. Didn't want to risk eating anything based on the deplorable bathroom so I left without ordering food. read more

This review applies to both the individual location and the chain as a whole. The individual location: Way more employees than customers when I was there mid-day on a Thursday. The place was pretty clean, the girl who took my order was nice, and that's where it ends. I was told to go put my buzzer on the table and my meal would be brought to me. Great, but when it shows up, it has onions (I asked for none), tomatoes (I asked for none), and no lettuce. Hmm... I tell the girl, who just looks at me for a minute before bringing it back to the counter where she calls out, "WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM!" The sandwich-maker behind the counter gets the details, but doesn't believe that I really didn't ask for both onions and tomatoes, so he calls the girl who took my order over to the counter and quizzes her on what I ordered. Meanwhile, I can hear (and see) this whole encounter. Rude! Of course, the girl corroborates my story, and the team gets to fixing my sandwich. By this time, I have walked over to the counter to tell them to just pull the crap off and put lettuce on it. The food server basically cuts me off saying, "We're remaking it!" Soooo I head back to my seat. I get my sandwich, it's fine, I eat it, I leave. Byeeeeee. The chain as a whole: The sandwich itself has gotten a boatload more expensive.. $9 for a sandwich and a water? I can do better quality-wise, size-wise, and price-wise at Au Bon Pain. Tsk Tsk. Meanwhile, the smoked turkey on my sandwich has a gel-like coating, like a low-budget prepackaged deli meat. Yuck. It's thick-cut, not deli cut, and is slapped on my sandwich two pieces together folded in half. As in, not even separated from each other. It's a nitpicky thing, but it's just a measure of quality. And Panera ain't got it no mo. It is what it is! I chose the oven roasted turkey avocado BLT 1/2 sandwich and creamy chicken rice soup. The sandwich was made perfect. The bread was fresh and the avocado slices were vibrant green, turkey was tasty and the bacon crisp. The soup on the other hand needed some attention. It was thick and not as hot as it could of been. I had purchased 2 coffees there was barely enough in all 3 dispensers to fill both medium cups it was not fresh at all. The cinnamon rolls definitely helped cut the harshness of the coffees. It is definitely a chain restaurant so leave your expectations at that level to avoid disappointment. As for fresher food "fast" it is my go to when I'm in a hurry. read more

My husband & I travel and eat at Panera often. However, if this had been our 1st visit, we would never come back. At 7:45 pm, there was a lengthy wait due to a newbie on the register. There was no hazelnut coffee, almost no pastries, and not even a baguette for my bowl of soup! Lots of empty tables, but none were clean. There was debris all over the carpeting, as well. My son and I go here every week because he absolutely loves the chicken noodle soup I think it's a more appropriate place for lunch however if you're looking for a big meal and you're really hungry I would try somewhere else. The portions are kind of small for the price. If you love soups and sandwiches however this is the place to go. The staff are all very friendly and it's apparent that customer service is their top priority. Sometimes during the lunch hour you may have to wait in line for a while before you order. Today during my visit I signed up for a mypanera card and used the quick order kiosk by the front of the store and I was in a hurry and the one customer in line with one cashier had a long order. I got a large drink, filled it up and then found out that there were no large lids in the entire store, which was frustrating. Otherwise, the food was relatively good. The grilled cheese was a little burnt and the salad (to-go) came with barely any sauce in the container. Service was relatively quick and I waited maybe 5 minutes after getting my drink. read more

I love Panera and their food is great and so is the service, but they always seem to be running out of food at this location. I would go with friends during lunch or just mid afternoon and they would tell us there isn't any more broccoli cheddar soup or bread left. I understand this may happen time to time but its happened upwards towards ten times visiting the Plattsburgh location. Something has to change with inventory. it's 2 o'clock and you are running out of things already? what are you gonna do for the dinner rush and the rest of the day without those choices? like I said great food and all but if you run out of it a lot it's very frustrating.
