In Chapin, on old exit road before traffic circle. I use this location at least once every two weeks. I only purchase breakfast or smoothies bc that's all like. I can't remember a time been there said didn't have smoothies available because that's is said at some locations. I've never had an order mix up on memory, drive thru moves fast enough, friendly employees is hit or miss. I don't believe there is a playground inside, do have order kiosk inside and WiFi. The food was not bad, expected for mcdonald's. But the icing on the cake was when a kid came in and threw up in front of the registers. Stopped by MC because my son wanted a kid's meal. The drive through wasn't that busy. I pulled up to order and the previous order was still on the screen. I said, " Hello," and no one answered. I waited almost 5 more minutes and said, "Hello," and no response. Then, a young lady came over the speaker and said,"Ma'am, I am fully aware you are at the speaker, just give us a moment." First off, if you were busy all you had to say was, " Hello ma'am we will be with you in a moment." I am chill person and I worked in the food service before. This place is really hit and miss. We come here because my kid likes happy meals but there's not much the adults like about the place. They're not consistent with serving warm food and the lines are usually long due to slow processing. Lately their strategy has been to tell customers that it's cash only. When I asked why they didn't take credit, the response was that they didn't have enough employees to run the machines. This order is for to-go only. We went through the drive-thru here on Friday, 1/1/2021 at 9:00 am. We ordered a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit and an Egg and Cheese Biscuit. The person who took our order was so kind and rang it up as two Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuits because you can get 2 for $4, which is cheaper than if she had put it in the way we ordered it. I am not exaggerating that stopping here took less than 2 minutes. We were back on the highway in no time and it actually didn't end up adding any time to our trip at all. The biscuits were delicious. We also got a large coffee for $1.99. The two employees in the drive-thru were so friendly and cheerful, even though they had to be up early on New Year's Day. This place is a disgrace to the McDonald's chain. The bathrooms were dirty. We stood at the register for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The woman that took our order did not follow up to make sure that we received our order. When I asked where our order was because our number was gone from the screen, she had to go looking for it. These people need training on how to work a double-line drive-thru. First, you take the order from line 1, then you take the order from line 2. But that's not how it's done here. Their posted closing hour is midnight. I've come through the drive thru on two separate occasions within 20-30 minutes before the posted closing time only to be met with silence, pulling around to the first window to be told their closed. If it's not 12 when you guys close, then when is it? This was probably an anomaly for a McD in my opinion. When we walked in, there were 10 people ahead of us and one person behind the register. There were 8 people who already ordered and didn't get their food yet. The drive thru had a double line out to the street. ***that was the good news** We (patiently) waited our turn to order. It came quickly because several in front of us and most behind us left, being there are a number of fast food places next door and across the street. Then, the cashier walked away when it was our turn. She had to go make fries and help package some of the food. 6 minutes later, she returned, no explanation, to take our order. ***that was the not so good news*** We persevered and waited for our food. We took our cups and got ice and proceeded to fill them with the flattest soda that had to be poured out. All the soda at both stations was flat. I've been a customer of this location for a while now. Recently their service has been excruciatingly slow, but I've excused it because they usually get my food right. Today, however, I've decided I will not be going back. I waited in line for 35 minutes (20 of which was AT the box), and I ordered a 10 piece meal with 3 cookies. I pull away after recieving my food and I am missing the nuggets entirely. I will not go back to correct it because it will take me at least an hour to get to the window, at which point they can't do anything about it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. read more

This McDonalds clearly is why automation is in existence. We stopped in to get Happy Meals and my kids got the wrong toy--not a big deal but you know you try to make the kids happy. Apparently simple requests are not done by this McDonalds. Prior to that my wife had ordered 4 happy meals and had an exchange with an employee where she showed them two different toys. I asked if we could please get our cups and she snapped " they will give them to you down there!" Then when I said something to my wife she got us our cups. This is one of the only fast food places in or near Chapin, so I find myself here on the occasion that I need something to eat while I'm out. Some days this place is just a regular McDonalds, with relatively fast service and moderately friendly people. Other days this place is the most irritating McDonalds. I understand that food service is not easy nor fun, but there's a limit to how much sh*t I can take as a customer. Today, there were three cars in line to order and I sat at the speaker and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to take my order, in the meantime, three or four other cars came around to the second lane and left after receiving no service. When someone did finally take my order, she was laughing and talking to someone and got my order wrong (only three things). There were only two cars in front of me and I had to put my car in park and eventually just turned it off because we weren't going anywhere. I finally got up to the window and got my food and saw that they weren't short staffed, there were seven people that I could see from the window! When I checked my food, I saw that my fries were put in the bag upside down, and my frappe had already started to melt. Really disappointed. read more

This is for store #15778 on Columbia Ave in Chapin, SC. Let me start off by saying I love McDonalds and all of its supersize me glory. I have also frequented many across the nation with much success and appreciation. That being said the store mentioned above was the worst I have been to yet. Minute 1: The person behind the counter was too busy helping ring up an employee and flirt with him to be bothered by us lowly travelers. She hollered across the restaurant for her manager to enter her number for the meal discount, meanwhile we are still waiting to place an order (2 min have elapsed) Finally after another 30 seconds or so she decided to get our order, as we order she realizes that the previous order is still on the screen...oh whoops the aforementioned employee never paid! Chalk up another 2 min because he didn't have the $1.27 and had to scrounge up some change. 6 minutes in we place our order. I had ordered a meal and asked for my drink cup, and the girl snapped at me something about having to scan my receipt, to get the cup, to go get my own self service drink. I mean come on...really? Ok so we are at 7 minutes now , employee in front of us gets his food, while standing at the counter is another customer waiting for her food. She gives a dirty look and states she has been waiting 15 min for her order. Great we are only on minute 9. Now I could continue this narrative of what happened and how completely unorganized and portly managed this store was, but I'm afraid I just don't have any more time to waste on this McDonalds. Oh, 18 minutes from start to getting our food, and we were the only people in line. Not what I consider fast food. We will definitely be avoiding this one in particular, as it left a poor "taste" in our mouth... I am a digital marketing manager, so reputation management is a big deal to me, and a large portion of my job. This particular restaurant has made some major improvements over the last few months, at least from my experience! Since the pandemic started I have eaten here more times than I really care to admit, but I haven't had a single bad experience here since. Two years ago... I avoided this McDonald's the service was so bad. But I can honestly say they seen to have made some changes in the best way! The service has been fast and 90% of the staff have been very friendly.
