We were quickly waited on and our friendly server answered all our questions. We started with an order of putine (that strange Canadian delicacy). We kept it simple by just adding gravy although there was s lot of things we could have added. They make their cheese curds in house. There wasn't a fry left by the time our entrees arrived. My DD ordered a Tammy burger which was 2 beef patties, pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and hot sauce and I got the patty melt. We both chose onion rings for our side. Saw this restaurant as we were taking the back roads home from a weekend in Atlanta. We are always looking for that local place and took a chance. It was worth the stop! My bacon cheeseburger was fresh, hot, and huge! The fries are also fresh, natural cut potatoes... While my wife's hotdog wasn't warm when it arrived, the restaurant team fixed that quickly and her replacement dog was good. The best restaurant in Dearing that has the tastiest, mouth-watering poutine I've ever tasted. I've never had tasted cheese curds before and now I know why they're called squeaky cheese. When you chew them, they squeak in your mouth and they were the absolute best. Their burgers are just as good especially when the meat is stuffed with cheese curds. Always look forward to coming here as much as I can especially on a Friday after work since it's not that far from Grovetown and it's absolutely worth it. This place isn't very big but you can sit down and eat it's never crowed and the food is always cooked to order meaning that it's always fresh. I fell in love with the cheese curd and the patty melt! After a friend posted some photos about this place, I knew I had to go to Dearing to check it out. Located in an old building at the main intersection, be prepared for exceptional local service, and some pretty great food. We had a group of six people, and there were no tables large enough to accommodate our group. The lone waitress asked a couple of other patrons if they would mind switching seats so we could push a couple tables together. Only in a small town! It's a small space but it's not cramped by any means. Between the six of us, we had two orders of poutine, four burgers and a grilled cheese sandwich. My husband and I split a small order of the classic poutine. Now this would be easy to mess up, if the gravy wasn't homemade and if the fries weren't crispy to start, this could basically be a big sloppy mess. However, they've nailed it! Homemade gravy is so delicious, and they've got those fries cooked just right before they pour it on. Burger patties are homemade and full of flavor from the griddle. Our friends also had hamburgers, and thought they were excellent. They also had a large order of the cattlemen's poutine. That's their signature poutine. Let me tell you, a large order of poutine fills a dinner plate size Styrofoam container. That is a lot of food! I have not had poutine in Canada, but I imagine any native Canadian could head here and be happy with the poutine. We also sprang for dessert: two banana puddings one cup of dirt including gummy worms, and two slices of homemade cheesecake. The cheesecake is a no bake, but I'd rather have a homemade no bake cheesecake than a cheesecake off the back of a food service truck . I always appreciate the effort of homemade desserts. Ride out to Dearing one day and check this place out, you won't be disappointed. read more

I was walking out of my hotel in Augusta, and some guy had a shirt that said Deep South Cheese and grill. So i asked him where it was and if it was good. he gave it a great review and said it was off the beaten path about 30mins outside of Augusta. So... we drove out there to the town Dearing with 529 people and the sheriffs office the size of a New York Flat. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the staff and the patrons. Either we looked way out place or they just don't have visitors but they were Quick to point out their favorites and how we found them. We ordered our food and it was cooked when we ordered. I will be honest, pulling up to this place had me a little skeptical, but boy did they prove me wrong! The service was fantastic. Our waitress was so sweet! The menu had so many options that it took us a minute to pick what we wanted, but I think any option would have been great. We ordered a burger and the mega melt with poutine and fries. Easily one of the best burgers I have ever had. The steak patty was clearly fresh and made with quality beef. The cheese curds took everything to the next level. You can not eat here without getting a steak burger and cheese curds in some form. Then, even though we were so very full, we had to try the cheesecake... I don't care how full you are, the cheesecake is a MUST. It was so very creamy. Of course we also purchased a large container of cheese curds to go. This place is very fairly priced especially for the quality of food you are getting. This will definitely be added to our list of regular restaurants!! P.S. After a tip from a new friend who happens to be an Italian chef, I took one of my favorite buddies to try it out. We were not disappointed. The Deep South Burger was the very best burger he or I had ever tasted which is saying something special as both of us have many years of experience owning and running restaurants. Two days later we were back again with another freind and blown away with the service, the food and now the cheese curds . This time we were able to spend some time with the owner who is clearly passionate about his product and loves sharing it with others. It's the best dining experience we've had in Georgia. Sooooo gooood! I had the classic poutine and it was so good that I completely forgot about my burger. The prices here are great and the serving sizes are huge. Happiness is served here! We all had different meals:, chicken club, hamburger, cheese curds and hot BBQ sauce (Deep south pictured) burger, sausage and bacon (Dearing favorite pictured) poutine, and a kids hot dog. Everyone raved about the gravy and cheese curds so much that we each had to have our own poutine! Gino is awesome and you can tell that he loves what he does, where he comes from and has a love for sharing his culture with his customers. He came out and personallyspoke to every customer. I had the patty melt also which was really good. The inside is small there is only 6 tables but there was no wait on a Friday.
