Probably the best McDonald's in the world!!! If you are looking for exceptional customer service, clean bathrooms, and orders made to perfection - you should probably turn around and avoid the McDonald's on 5200 South Lake Park Avenue in Hyde Park. This is the best McDonald's in the world for a bad experience. It is January 29th at 3am CST as I write this review. I just placed an online order and had to cancel it because the lady working tonight said the systems are down. She then proceeded to tell me to place the order again when breakfast starts because that is when she will restart the system. She refused to reboot the system at 230am. Oddly enough, this is not the first time this has happened at this location. For some odd reason, the system goes down at night and they tell patrons to come back during breakfast hours. How can a billion-dollar company have a system that shuts down conveniently on Saturday nights when I use this McDonald's location? While that is what set me off, the location is probably the dirtiest in Chicago. I have come here for coffee and it looks like the place was not cleaned the night before. If your systems are down, don't you think other duties could be done? If you love the smell of piss and bathrooms that have not been cleaned, this is the perfect location for you. Management takes pride in not listening to patrons tell them that the bathroom needs to be cleaned. Last and not least, management needs to train staff how to read orders correctly. I think the worst interaction with staff is when a drive-thru attendant argued with me because I asked for unsweetened iced tea and received sweet tea. He told me that I ordered sweet tea and told me to read the receipt. I showed him the receipt and he didn't like the fact it said unsweetened iced tea. He was upset. It is nothing to be upset over, but he couldn't handle the fact he was wrong. It was strange. Bottom line: If you want a poorly managed McDonald's with substandard cleanliness and ill-trained staff, come to 5200 South Lake Park Avenue in Hyde Park. They are gladly waiting for you.

This McDonald's is a in my book. The staff is always super fast. The place is so clean I think about eating off the floor. Jk I order my breakfast on the app and it was ready in no time. Thanks McDonalds for powering my breakfast.

I very rarely come to any McDonald's but we didn't feel like cooking and at Lent we cut out red meat so now that McD has fish, chicken, etc we thought we'd head down. There was only a short line and a helpful order-taker. I got chicken tenders with sauce and a caramel sundae (Didn't know about the Jeni's Ice Cream acceptance yet!) We left with no drama or attitude and enjoyed the food, which was accurate. I WAS a little miffed that the sundae came in a cup with a hole in the top of the container and we were doing take out, so I had to hold it while heading home so none of it would spill or collect debris! I should have asked for a different lid but I did not.

The quality of the steak and the hoagie roll (has to be fresh and from Philadelphia) being of utmost importance. The first time I had a Charley's cheesesteak (Rosemont Outlet mall location), was due to a recommendation from someone. I'm always hesitant about getting cheesesteaks from random places, because they're just not good. I got the chicken cheesesteak and to my surprise, it was tasty. The chicken was seasoned, bread was good and the fries were crispy. On this particular occasion, I visited the Charley's located on 47th street, in the Lake Park Plaza Shopping Center. This is a strip mall location with other eateries and a laundromat. While there's parking, it can sometimes get crowded, and is always filled with cars. Upon entering, there are a few tables, but the space really isn't setup for dining in . On this occasion I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, fries and a peach lemonade. I do suggest ordering on the mobile app to save time. The mobile app also offers coupons and points earned for purchases made. (A few weeks prior I had a free drink on my account for my birthday. I went in store to order, and had to go back and forth with the counter attendant about if the drink was for a lemonade or a milk shake, as I wanted a milk shake. It was for both, but I wanted a milk shake. All of this would've been avoided if I had ordered online. I hate going back and forth with people, which is why I prefer ordering fast food online- so I don't have to deal with people- but I digress). I had ordered online so didn't have much interaction with the counter attendants, on this occasion. However, my interaction with them was pleasant. The cheesesteaks are pretty good, nice serving size with portions that leave you full. I've also ordered boneless chicken wings in the past, and they, too, were tasty. My favorite cheesesteak on the planet is Max's in North Philadelphia. But when in Chicago, Charley's is my go to for a cheesesteak in the city, for the meantime.

We split the large old School Philly sandwich and a special Kimchi version. I like that they change it up with different flavors. We didn't get any sides or fries with it. The bread is nicely seasoned and toasty, not hard, and the meat and cheese were tasty. We did carryout, they do not have much in the way of dine in. I saw some juices and ice cream, which I will def try when it's warmer out. The staff was professional and friendly. I think there is a tv in there, as it is a 10 or so minute wait for each order. They are in a mini mall so one could wander around, but next time I will order online.

For the price, the burger was disappointing. The bun was dry, the patty looked and tasted as if it had some kind of grain or bread filler mixed in, and the pickles were oddly wet and slimy. It also came with the now-obligatory trendy aioli sauce that seems to show up on everything. The fries were fine. The shake was okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing that justified the cost or the wait. To be fair, one of the women working there was genuinely kind and welcoming, which was probably the highlight of the experience. The restaurant was packed, so clearly plenty of people love it. Maybe it's just not for me. Walking out, I found myself wishing I'd skipped the crowd and headed over to Morry's Deli for a corned beef sandwich instead. Better value, less fuss, and probably a meal I'd still be thinking about afterward.

Glad we added cheese because there wasn't much to it. the other sandwich we bought was avocado turkey on Dutch crunch. It unfortunately had enough mayo to drown the restaurant. The amount of meat left much to be desired. We asked for chips which they had but only for online orders that came in. ??? Doesn't make sense to me. Kinda acted inconvenienced we were talking while he was on the phone. The restaurant is pretty chill and seemed like a workspace for people with art on the walls for sale. The art also had a thick layer of dust, and overall the dining room could use a good deep clean. The bathroom cleanliness was decent. This probably won't be another place I would seek out in the future.
