I'm always hesitant about getting cheesesteaks from random places, because they're just not good. I got the chicken cheesesteak and to my surprise, it was tasty. The chicken was seasoned, bread was good and the fries were crispy. On this particular occasion, I visited the Charley's located on 47th street, in the Lake Park Plaza Shopping Center. This is a strip mall location with other eateries and a laundromat. While there's parking, it can sometimes get crowded, and is always filled with cars. Upon entering, there are a few tables, but the space really isn't setup for dining in . On this occasion I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, fries and a peach lemonade. I do suggest ordering on the mobile app to save time. The mobile app also offers coupons and points earned for purchases made. (A few weeks prior I had a free drink on my account for my birthday. I went in store to order, and had to go back and forth with the counter attendant about if the drink was for a lemonade or a milk shake, as I wanted a milk shake. It was for both, but I wanted a milk shake. All of this would've been avoided if I had ordered online. I hate going back and forth with people, which is why I prefer ordering fast food online- so I don't have to deal with people- but I digress). I had ordered online so didn't have much interaction with the counter attendants, on this occasion. However, my interaction with them was pleasant. The cheesesteaks are pretty good, nice serving size with portions that leave you full. I've also ordered boneless chicken wings in the past, and they, too, were tasty. My favorite cheesesteak on the planet is Max's in North Philadelphia. But when in Chicago, Charley's is my go to for a cheesesteak in the city, for the meantime.

I saw some juices and ice cream, which I will def try when it's warmer out. The staff was professional and friendly. I think there is a tv in there, as it is a 10 or so minute wait for each order. They are in a mini mall so one could wander around, but next time I will order online.

So much I stopped ordering from the Hyde Park location! Not this time!!!! Everything was fresh and accounted for. I looked on the bag and noticed they have a new system that the manager must have implemented. Everything was checked off on the receipt on the bag for accuracy! Great way to implement a system that works! Great job. I had to call and ask to speak to the manager. I spoke to the general manager Jeanette and told her great job. Keep improving and implementing small strategies that will yield great results for your customers!!!!

They both came with fries and a drink. Even though it was 1am a surprising amount of customers were walking in and grabbing orders (at least 4.) The cashier said ten minutes, but it took more like twenty for the order mainly because I guess he had to wake the other guy up to work the gyro meat station (which is kind of silly.) Overall the food isn't good. For some reason after eating the "Zinger burger" my throat burned for hours on end as if I had acid reflux when that's not the case. The fries were oversalted (how do you even do that?!??) I don't understand why these restaurants aren't clean. Just close the front door and clean the place or hire a cleaning company so you don't have to do it yourself if you're that scared of being robbed. Most likely they're too cheap to properly clean which means the kitchen area is probably a hygiene nightmare. I had actually planned on charging my phone using one of the numerous outlets they provide up front, but the place was so filthy I opted not to. The prices are a bit high considering they don't even give you a lot of fries like other places (pretty much less than one potato.)

It was definitely longer than 10 minutes. While i'm looking around AFTER i ordered my food i'm seeing how dirty it is. There were multiple half smoked cigarettes and black and milds on the counters. Not to mention the cobwebs in the corners. That wasn't even the cherry on the top. I get the food and examine it and it looked like they just cooked it frozen. Excuse my french but that shit was disgusting. And the cherry on the top is the morning after my stomach is hurting and I have a fever. I'm 92% sure I got food poisoning since I shouldn't catch a cold because I had layers on plus a Carhartt coat. In conclusion, NEVER order from this place they are not clean nor sanitary. I'm thinking of going and getting my money back!
