Quick Take: First time being talked down to by a manager at this location. Not feeling like I will be back to this location because of it. Explanation: Visited on morning of 3/22/26. Management experience from 1:30pm that sane day. Got a black coffee and a hot Cafe Mocha. Window handed me a black coffee and attempted to hand me a frozen drink when I mentioned it was supposed to be hot. We realized that the order was put in wrong. No biggie, I pulled forward and waited. Dropped the Cafe Mocha at home to my wife and I went to church. Wife texted and said it doesn't taste like the normal Cafe Mocha, just like a black coffee with cream (not whipped cream.) After church, I stopped by since it was on my way home to explain how it didn't taste good..maybe something happened with the order mix-up. The manager said it was impossible to mess up the drink because it was a new machine. She asked where the drink was and said I should have called and brought the drink back so they could look at it. I explained I dropped it at home. She proceeded to accuse that I just wanted a free drink and she wouldn't replace the coffee because I drank the other one. The whole time with a snarky chuckle and laugh. I tried telling her I didn't drink it but she cut me off asking "Well, where is it?!" My blood really started to boil but I just left rather than make a scene over a coffee and decided Ib just wouldn't come back to this location. read more

This is not a great McDonald's... employees standing around talking and screwing with their cell phones all the time... but it is the best one to visit in Decatur. However, there are now FOUR McDonald's in Decatur (this one on Beltline, just down from Lowe's), 6th Ave (by little Walmart), Hwy 20, and a new one by the big Walmart on Spring St. This is the best one to go to... the food is better (Not great) but better than from any of the other three... (the one on sixth, the food tastes like they add a ton of salt to every hamburger patty). Also, employees aren't parking at the door like they do at the other three... it's crazy that management allows this; this is unheard of in most areas. read more

The wife and I stopped by this past Saturday morning for breakfast and when the young lady brought out our order she didn't have the drinks. When my wife asked about the drinks the employee had no idea what my wife was taking about. Our drinks were two mocha Frappuccino and a Dr. Pepper. By the time we got home which is a 5 minute drive the wife was sick and 30 minutes I became I'll. I will never eat from McDonald's ever again, at least not the ones in Decatur, Alabama. I ordered a Big Mac Meal at the inside counter because the drive-through line was not moving. My order was placed at 9:09 pm Friday night May 3, 2019. At 9:27pm I received my food. Eighteen minutes! A Big Mac and fries. (The Dr Pepper was self service.) Eighteen minutes!!! While waiting for my food I noticed some of the employees were standing around doing nothing, one went to the bathroom twice, one was visiting with his child's mother, and the manager went outside for a smoke break while email/text reading. On top of this, the place was filthy: paper napkins and straw wrappers on the floor, dried ketchup on a stool, spilled soda and ice at the drink station. I can't imagine investing so much in a McDonald's franchise and letting it go so unkempt. The only bright side was the one young lady who took my order was working hard and she had a ready smile. I've never eaten here, it says open 24/7 but it's not and God only knows when it's actually going to be open or not. First time I went there they said they were closed for the next 30 minutes for shift change. This is by far the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. The place is filthy. The drive thru is slow. The service is horrible. I will never spend a penny there again. I will mot spend a second there any longer. Do not go to this establishment. You will wait for your order only for them to get it wrong then you have to wait some more. Usually this McDonald's is great. However tonight was very disappointing. We were setting in the drive through up next when both boards went black and they closed ! I work late so I sleep Late and was Thrilled when McDonalds added Breakfast all day...But when I go to get Biscuits they are Harder than a Dog Biscuit... Unprofessional staff, slow drive thru and rude employees. Cold food not worth the wait or abuse.

They built a brand new McDonalds. Unfortunately the poor service and poor quality did not get redone. Tonight they got our order wrong, got home, drove all the way back and the lady helping us pulled all kinds of attitude and tossed the "correct" order at us and slammed the window. We were extremely polite, but she was very negative and unresponsive to our concerns. The McDonalds in our local area are just plagued with ad management and poor quality and customer service. Too bad because we like them and want to be customers. read more

The place was filthy- there was even employees standing there acting like they didn't have any work to do when there were fries all in the floor! Would give no stars is possible. This McDonalds is terrible. We were stuck in line for 30 min, finally get to pay and when we pull to the second window for our food, we are told that the shake we had ordered AND paid for couldn't be made. We asked for another flavor and was told that the machine was "locked" and the manager was too busy to fix. The order taker or at least the pay window should have informed us. Poor drive thru timing. You'll wait 10, I've even waited 15, minutes in the morning and at lunch time. It takes forever. As the other said, if they get your order wrong, they get an attitude. I had ordered in the drive thru, kept my receipt, and was handed out the wrong food. I went inside to correct the situation, showing the manager where my receipt said I had ordered one thing, and in the bag I got handed out was another. The manager asked the drive thru associate if my correct food was nearby. She rudely barked that maybe I ordered the wrong thing. However, he snapped back correcting her telling her I had the receipt for what I ordered but it was not what I recieved. He got my correct order. However the attitudes here suck. They genuinely need to let corporate come in and do a clean sweep of all employees and start from scratch in hiring. The people here now are rude as hell. read more

The manager today, tall-Bald-white male- 40-50s, seemed as if he was on speed or something. He was rushing through the dining room carrying bins that hold sauces to apparently clean and sort. It made me nervous and he was so intense looking. I had difficulty trying to analyze his issue. All employees event what appeared to be a co manager - all seemed on edge and scare. I had ear plugs in so I wasn't mindful of any convos until I began to leave. When I got up a man behind me looked at me looking at the counter and disgustedly and shook his head. I took my ear plugs out and heard him say as he pointed to an employee ordering food for brake " your fired!" The employee said how you fire me for ordering food? He fired her over the counter in front of customers and employees! She might of deserved it but there is some thing wrong with this guy. For two days now, I have gone into this location to place and order and there has not been one person working the counter. Yesterday, Sunday breakfast crowd backed up eight deep and not one order taker. I left as I was late for church. Today, at lunch, 11:30 lunch crowd. No one in line but I as I walked to the counter to place my order, the MANAGER on duty actually walked away and did not acknowledge my presence or instruct a staff member to the counter. Must be nice not to have to compete for customers! When I finally had my order taken, it was an effort for the young cashier to do so. She first had to stop on her way from the "order up" area where she had been standing with her back to the counter to pull out bags from under the counter before she asked if I needed to order? Not "may I take your order?" "May I help you." but "do you need to order?" No I don't NEED to order I choose to order but because my choices are limited here, I guess I will have to continue to put up with bad service. read more

Almost every time I go they forget my order so I end up waiting at least 30 mins MINIMUM before I have to remind them about my order. I went there and maybe 10 more people ordered after us but got their food before us. The food was not fresh. Maybe two months before that, my boyfriend and I waited maybe 45 mins so we left and came back with his dad and he talked to them. The manager accused us of slamming the door on the way out. After 10 mins she showed my boyfriend's dad the footage and saw it was a black man that left right after us. Not really sure how she mixed up two white teenagers with a middle aged black man. So we got our money back and free food, but it was carelessly thrown in the bag by a "new employee" On her first day. I had seen there many weeks before that so that was clearly a lie. After these two times, I don't go there unless I don't have anything to do that day or I'm looking for something a little cheap.
