We went through the drive-thru and were absolutely disgusted by what we received. The food was clearly old--so bad it wasn't even edible. When we called to report the issue, we were told we had to return the food... seriously? We were already on the highway by then. To make matters worse, the manager was incredibly rude and hung up on us the moment we asked for their name and contact information. Completely unprofessional. today was my worst customer service experience ever! I've had a drunk waiter before, had my orders completely messed up, been food poisoned in the past, but today's order at the McDonald's on E 66 in Gallup was the worst! I waited for over 40 minutes for my small order. They brought it out messed up so I went back through the drive thru t fix it. they put me in one of the drive thru waiting spots and ten minutes later an attendant came out and asked for my order (they wanted it back). I gave it to her and waited another 1/2 hour before calling the store to ask why I was still waiting bu for my corrected order. They sent out another attendant who acted with suspicion towards me from the start. She demanded to see my reciept and order. I told her the other attendant already took it back but showed her my mobile reciept and explained what was wrong with the order. She looked at me like I was mentally ill or retarded and said she didn't understand the problem so I would need to come inside to explain it to her manager. I told her I had ordered drinks at another restaurant that I was ahead a half hour late picking up and just wanted a refund at this point because I needed to leave. She turned and walked back inside saying I needed to come inside to settle the matter. I left with no order. Is it so hard to treat people with love and compassion? Words are so powerful! McDonald's 2300 E Historic Hwy, Gallup NM 87301 May 31, 2021 Monday (Memorial Day) - 8 AM  for breakfast 2 Adults Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 2 stars Background - Road tripping and fast food was needed for breakfast.  Hour plus into our journey I needed some protein. Atmosphere - Actually went into the location this morning.  The dining room was taped off.  So it was just takeout this morning.  They have two kiosk that you can place your order at. Food Drink - I normally drink black coffee at home so I treat myself with a hot mocha while out and about.  My mocha was just warm, and the drink was on the bitter side.  I was not getting the smooth chocolate flavor from my drink.  My wife tried it and was good with. Sandwiches - I went with my standard Sausage Egg McMuffin (English muffin), this is why I go to McDonald's.  The English muffin was burnt.  I am guessing this is the new standard McMuffin as this has been happening frequently.  I like mine toasted with not black on them. Service - I started with the kiosk.  I placed a part of my simple order and the bill was already over $10, how and why.  Yes this location is expensive but not a value meal upgraded drink ten dollars expensive.  I tried to figure out what went wrong but the machine just kept suggesting more items to order.  "And Then, And Then, And Then" was going through my head from "Dude, Where's My Car?".  I cancelled the order and walked up to the lady at the register, and had to wait as she was taking the drive thru orders from the front registers too.  Does it really take that long to make a coffee?  Since we were the only customers in the place it was easy to watch the staff.  I could see the bag filled in the kitchen with our breakfast sandwiches.  The signing even saying Serving our number.  But nothing was moving.  Finally a lady yelled at the drinking asking.  "Yep it is right here" he replied.  She grabbed it then called our number  Probably why my coffee was not hot.  Thinking about it he probably forgot that in was a take out order and not a drive thru order. There is nothing fast about this place. I went through the drive thru because we are traveling across the state. They parked all the cars before me and two after me to wait for our food. I've been waiting 28 minutes and still counting. McDonald's corporate needs to come and check this place out. Makes no sense to have to wait over 30 minutes for McDonald's. read more

Nice service. Staff very friendly. Even residents open the door for you. There is a bit of wait for the food. We didn't see the 2 for $5 which is a good deal. The fries were excellent, nice and crispy. Hubby had a Big Mac and said it tasted good. My filet of fish was good but the cheese wasn't melted enough. For $13 for 2 it's an OK meal while you hit the road again. read more

Stopped in today at roughly 2:45pm. Seemed pretty busy. Drive-through had like 6 vehicles going through. Roughly 6-7 people inside. Ordered 2 medium sized meals, got on the road, and realized the fries had no flavor. They were stale, easily been sitting there for good long while. Barely lukewarm. With it being decently busy like it was, I would never have to expected the fries to be old, and stale. My mistake for not asking for fresh fries like I normally do. Was one my way to Amarillo, TX after seeing the Petrified Forest. . I arrived after lunch. Right in the middle of nowhere just like most of Route 66 Historical place are. PROS: Iced sweet tea was cold and sweet just the way the south makes it. The service was friendly and fast. Building new and mostly clean. A/C worked. CONS: Quarter Pounder was terrible. Cheese was old. Bread was hard. This McDonald's had very dirty bathrooms. Security Guard looked 15 years old and spent most of the time texting on his cell. Standard Mcdonalds fair on which you can count. But what set this location apart was the friendly service and a PlayPlace!
