Customer service was great. They have a restroom available for their customers. I bought bakery items on sale "buy one get one free." The issue I have with this business is that they have a giant fish tank in their bakery. It stinks. I thought my experience passing the smelly tank on my way to the restroom ended when I left the building. Grossly, the muffin I swallowed the next day had a faint fish tank aftertaste. read more

Lucky enough to come across Glenn's Bakery Ratings - and They live up to them , got there early - Wow the Coffee was Very Good , started with cake chocolate - Tasty . Then asked about Apple Fritters , "Coming out of the oven soon" , am happy to say it was worth the wait . One thing they presented Beautifully - (hey if your into that so of thang ) , Flavor , texture - out of this world ! Wow did i make a mistake not takin' some for the road . The service people were so kind and helpful - yeah sweet - oh well hit a pun , but true . The Main Guy ,( no name want to be respectful ), sat with me and went thru His DIY Salt Water aquarium that was proudly displayed - must have been about 8ft in length , what beautiful tropic fish , you can tell He takes pride - so clean with happy colorful fish . We arrived around 10:30 am on Saturday on the way out of town and there weren't any Apple or cherry fritters. My sons tried donuts and cookies. They said it was OK. Wow! You just never know what you'll stumble upon in small town America. We had just completed a work assignment in Albuquerque, and we had a week to kill before returning to Atlanta. We had been on the road for about an hour and a half and hadn't eaten breakfast yet. Looked up what was around on Yelp. This cute little spot had a great rating so we thought we'd give it a whirl. As a southerner, I was skeptical of biscuits and gravy in New Mexico, but I thought I'd try it anyway. WOW! They nailed it! The gravy was so flavorful and the biscuits were as light as a feather! Just delicious. I nearly licked the plate clean! And oh my, they also are a retail bakery! So, of course we got a few baked goods to go. They had freshly made tortillas, all kinds of donuts, fitters, cinnamon rolls that were enormous, and today's special was a dozen donuts for $5!!! I mean, when's the last time you paid just $5 for a baker's dozen (13)??? It might be a tiny hole in the wall, but they deliver big flavors, and warm, hometown, friendly hospitality. The drive between Albuquerque and Flagstaff can be boring. Thank goodness we made a stop at Glenn's Bakery for pastries and coffee! Such a great selection of donuts, cookies, muffins, cupcakes and cakes. I enjoyed the flaky apple turnover (perfect!) and Glen opted for a cinnamon roll that is as big as a dinner plate! The cinnamon roll was exceptional. The pastries are very reasonably priced but we took advantage of the Yelp check-in for two free donuts, muffins or cookies and we felt we had really gotten an unbeatable bargain! read more

As far as we are concerned, the food and service are 5 star!! If that isn't enough, they have a huge salt water aquarium filled with beautiful soft coral and stunning fish and eels! Truly a unique place. We will hit this place again on our way back through on I 25. read more

Any time I am in Gallup, this is my go to for breakfast. They have great breakfast and wonderful baked goods as well. The green and red sauces are to die for. It's a simple, unassuming place. My wife and I found ourselves unexpectedly having to drive coast to coast in four days (long story and the details aren't relevant here). This was Day Four of our trip and I was getting a little cranky. We were getting close to Gallup around 6:30 am and my wife asked what I wanted for breakfast. "Donuts!" I said. And luckily, she found Glenn's. This place was amazing, and so were the people. We started ordering a bunch of stuff because we'd figured out that comfort food made the miles go by faster. As I was paying up, the dear woman asked me if I'd like a fresh tortilla. (Life Tip: Never ever say "no" if someone offers you a free fresh tortilla!!!) My wife and I both took a bite and asked for a couple dozen to take home. By the time we were on the road, it was too late to tell them whether the donuts were any good or not. I wish I'd picked up the phone and called Glenn's to tell them just how amazing the donuts were. Each one was absolutely perfect. I'm a visual guy, so I didn't use their drive-through. I suppose if I were a local and knew what I wanted, I'd use it. But I'm glad we walked in and let our eyes do the impulse ordering for us. I think we spent about $30 with the tortillas and coffee. Totally worth it. We didn't really have any food in the house when we finally got home that night, but I made some quesadillas with a few of the tortillas and they were dynamite. We also gave one of the dozen tortillas to the couple who were watching our dogs (along with other gifts) and they thanked us that night and again this morning. That's pretty high praise. I only make it through Gallup every year or so, but I'm putting this on my list of places where I ABSOLUTELY MUST STOP, regardless of the time of day. read more

I salute the Chavez family! Hungry, tired and caffeine staved we reached Gallup on our way to Vegas. Going the opposite direction only a week earlier, my travel mates had severely criticized me for failing to provide them with life necessities (read coffee and munchies) during the trip. With that in mind I apprehensively pulled over at Glenn's not knowing what to expect. We found a table and I went to get us coffee. I was in desperate need of a espresso shot, a double one at that! The gentelman who came to help me, made me a perfect cup of double espresso that made me go "WOW!". When I told him it was awesome, he smiled and said, "What do you think? It is Illy's coffee!" I complemented him, and just when I turned to take the coffees to our table I saw it! A freshly baked homemade cherry pie sitting on the shelf and smiling right at me! The very nice gentleman who had been helping me, kindly sliced and heated the pie for us. The pie, all of it, was gone within minutes of reaching our table! Glenn's Bakery was opened in early 70s, but it was taken over by the Chavez family a few years later. If you are traveling through Gallup and need break from the highway doldrums stop at Glenn's, have a coffee and a slice pie or a doughnut before getting back on the road. read more

Stopped in for some donuts and rested in their lot before continuing on our travel. The gentleman, whom I could only assume is the owner of this bakery came up to us to let us know before we go that we could use their restrooms...that's real customer service when the owner of the establishment itself is offering even to travelers just passing by. Incredibly accommodating - turned the grill back on 30 min after breakfast so I could have eggs on my enchiladas. Amazing pastries. Free check in donuts are delish. The enchilada is swoon-worthy! Tortillas are handmade and the red sauce is just right spicy. Drippy lovely cheese. The over-medium eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. ILLY coffee thank Maude. Greatly improved experience, the breakfast burritos were great this time. We had bacon, egg, and cheese burrito and brisket and cheese burrito. We grabbed a tray of donuts and a couple turnovers. Everything was good. Staff was kind and polite. But it's a bit disorganized for people lining up. First time here, I'd love to give this place five stars but, unfortunately, it just didn't excite me, whenever I did take that 1st bite! I've purchased two cupcakes. One was the purple and the other, orange. I've tried the orange one 1st! The cake itself kinda reminds me of an Angel food cake. I was shocked whenever the icing tasted like an actual orange. I mean, the presentation of the cupcakes were nice. It had Halloween decor on each of the cupcakes, not a huge fan of that but you know, other's like what they like!
