McDonald's drive-thru was a bit of an adventure today. I'm pretty sure the microphone and I were having two completely different conversations because neither of us could hear the other. The young man taking the money looked like he'd rather be literally anywhere else on planet Earth, which honestly gave the whole experience a little character. By the time I reached the pickup window things looked like a mild tornado had passed through the place. That being said, the outside of the restaurant was clean and the food was actually delicious, so clearly something is being done right back there in the kitchen. Maybe I just caught them at a chaotic moment in the lunch rush. Either way, I'll definitely be back. It's always nice to see young people out working and doing their thing... even if the drive-thru microphone and I are still not on speaking terms. read more

One question. How are you going to be out cooked ready to go quarter pounders with cheese at 1130 a.m.? It's McDonald's so the food was McDonald's but I would expect the food from a fast food place to be fast So with that one star down for slow service. Wife and I were on a Road-Trip and went through Lampasas, Texas, filled up the truck with gas and stopped in at McDonald's (#17456) for a quick bite. Check out the Menu Board and decided on a Sausage-Egg McMuffin, listed on their Menu as #2 - To-Go - so that's what I'm going with. My Wife didn't want anything. Order placed and soon it was ready pretty quick. Ate it in the car and this was Very Fresh and pretty Tasty - served nice-n-hot. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. It also came with one of their 'Potato Things', which I didn't see listed but it could of been. Didn't care for it at all - it was greasy and didn't taste like any potato I ever had - didn't eat it. Also had a Coffee and it was pretty good also, nice flavor and aroma. You actually ordered from a person and another person made the meal - nicely done - it's called 'Team Work' and it's better than any machine. No pictures because I ate in the Truck. read more

Service at this place is the worst. We ordered simple breakfast sandwiches 2 to be exact and even though they were not very busy we waited for half an hour before complaining that we had not received our order yet several people after us had and several drive thru orders filled. When we spoke to management about it we were able informed in a rude manor " we will get to it when we get to it" I'm adding 1 star only because I have to rate however if negative stars were a choice that's what I would rate. read more

8/16/23 5:30 pm Holy cow this place is a hot mess in need of adult supervision. Soda area smells. EVERY table was dirty. Teenage customer tells Sandra behind counter that all the tables are dirty. She laughs. Clean a few. Disappears. We all wait for food. Realize everyone is in back with our food in bags but they're talking. She cleans a few more with same rag with no cleaner. All food and debris go on floor. A customer visiting with his family actually wiped a table for me. Maybe they should hire him! read more

The Lampasas McDonald's has been disappointing lately. We usually order breakfast every Sunday morning. We recently placed an order for two breakfast sandwiches using a buy one get one promo. The total shown on the order placed was $4.32. Our card was charged $8.10. We immediately brought the discrepancy to the attention of the manager who acknowledged the problem and said that she would get the transaction amount corrected. The overcharge remains. Additionally, this McDonald's seems to block online coupons that work at other McDonald's. We recently tried to place an order using a buy one get one 10 piece Chicken McNugget deal. The Lampasas McDonald'a would not allow the order to go through. We were heading to Marble Falls so we changed the order to the Burnet McDonald's. The order was placed with no issue. I prefer to support Lampasas businesses, but McDonald's has lost ours. read more

Cashier charged me for two complimentary happy meals awarded to my elementary student after bringing to their attention the manager on duty refunded me the cost of the happy meals but kept th $0.90 sales tax and refused to refund it because that was the way she was trained. So McDonald has charged me almost a dollar sales tax without selling me anything. This is not only wrong but against state sales tas law. I would suggest a deep audit by the Texas sales tax division on not only this McDonald's but all McDonald's. How many hundreds or thousands of dollars have been illegally collected from customer. This McDonald's is the worst. Last time I was there I ordered a number one and the burger was cold and the fries were half cooked and I ordered a medium fry and I counted 15 french fries. They also forgot napkins and a straw. I've been to this location and number of times and every single time I go it's awful I've called and complained but they're just not interested in fixing their problems. read more

The place was dirty. No excuses for tables not wiped off , beverage area dirty and trashed, and floor look's like they've never mopped it with soap in the water. I've never seen scrambled eggs look so horribly. One meal had very thin scorched on the end, one meal maybe had two fifth cent size in that meal. Does not even deserve 1 star. Always mess your order up. Cannot read NO CHEESE. Today, I placed an order for 5 breakfast sandwiches and 1 big breakfast through the drive thru. I was told to pull up to the farthest window, because they were waiting on eggs. I did. Waited 18 minutes before going in. 22 minutes from the time I paid to talk to the manager, and another 6 minutes to get the food I ordered. And it was more grease soaked than a burger. Sad when the grease is soaked through the paper bags.... The manager claimed the upcharge on the drink for the breakfast meal on "not getting coffee". News flask, NOT EVERYONE DRINKS COFFEE! Very rude service. Driving through Lampasas and ordered 3 items, including a large order of fries. Asked for ketchup and the employee at the window seemed very annoyed and was rude. If you work at a burger joint it is common to offer ketchup for fries or cheese for your burger. - I paid full price for fries but I was not provided what I paid for. - not one single napkin was given. After driving for a long period of time I expected to get good customer service at a food establishment. - Maybe that lady should not work at that window or there at all. Let me start with the fact that I rarely write reviews and they are usually only good. It takes A LOT to make me write a negative review. I wish I could give no stars. Summary of our experience: We had a small group and were in a hurry so we decided to stop here to grab a quick bite to eat. We went inside because the drive thru line was too long . We all placed our orders separately, 4 total. When we FINALLY got our food, around a 30 minute wait, it was all mixed up with other people's orders and we were missing stuff. Our orders came out at completely different times with around a 15 minute time difference of when the first and last people in our group got their food. Two of us got mushroom Swiss burgers and they were SMOTHERED in whatever the sauce is. I wiped a lot of mine off but it was still everywhere. The food was not great, weird considering you'd think with a chain like Mcdonalds everything would taste close to the same. We finally go to leave and the drive thru line was wrapped around the building, which prevented us from leaving. I'm not sure what the cars were ordering but we watched the same two cars sitting at the ordering station for at leave 10 minutes. Now that we've been gone about 10-15 minutes me and the other girl that got the same thing as me are both feeling very sick. The whole stop ended up taking us over an hour! I often stop at this McDonalds on my trips to Dallas From San Antonio. The food has always been fresh. They've always gotten my oder right and the bathrooms and restaurant has been clean. I have not experienced what other here said they experienced. To be clear, I have always dined inside - never went thru the drive thru. This is a very good McDonalds as McDonalds goes. I even like the interior design. Looks llike someone's living room inside. I like to sit at teh front windows and enjoy the simple but very nice landscaping with the rose bushes and all. I know, I know it's a McDonalds, but there are varying degrees of Mickey D's. We visit this one on our way to San Angelo. It's always handy for a restroom break or a nice snack. The nuggets have been especially good lately. Fresh and crispy, and when paired with the fries they are a great road trip meal. The chicken sandwiches and burgers have been really good too. We've always gotten hot, fresh food, nothing that's been sitting under a heat lamp all day. They have the double drive thru too if you want to stay in your car. Nothing but good experiences here for us. The staff is friendly and they want your business. They also have a grassy area that people use for pet potty breaks. read more

Don't stop here if you're not a white American. My boyfriend and I are currently driving with our dog from Austin to visit his family in Santa Fe. Because it's summer and hot in Texas we take turns going in to use the restroom and go through the drive-thru to get our food. I went in first to use the restroom without issues from the staff. Then my boyfriend went in after I got into the car. He was told by Kayla that he couldn't use the restroom because he wasn't buying anything. So disappointed. Ordered a hot fudge sundae and there wasn't any hot fudge so the employee squirted a bit of fudge sauce into the container. Might as well have just gotten a cone. My mom's sundae was fine. And the 10,000 kids at the location after school. I'll have to remember to never come to this location after school is out. read more
