Placed a mobile order since the store is listed as open 24 hours. Pulled up to the speaker and was told they couldnt give me my order because they were closed. I asked about a refund or canceling my order and was told "I don't know, not my problem." McDonald's has crappy customer service in general but this is the worst I've ever experienced. On a whim I went through the drive thru and ordered a quarter pounder. At this point it has been years since I ate at McDonald's. I have literally never written a bad review so fast (I literally just left this McDonalds). I will never visit this location again. When my order was taken, it sounded like the person was distracted. They got my order wrong several times so they apparently were not listening. When I got to the window to pay, the girl at the window basically ignored me, took my card, and gossiped about another car in the drive thru with another employee while I was still sitting there. Consistently bad quality and service. I waited at the speaker box for over 2 minutes while the employee discussed meeting up with someone (with his mic on). Part of my order was three Sprites, which tasted awful because they were out. I only know they were out because this is the 6th time this has happened, and they used to tell us they were out (after we'd already received the drinks. And we were told by the one who made them, so I'm not sure why they waited til then to say so). The nuggets and fries I got were kind of warm like they'd been sitting a while. I'm a firm believer that most 1 star reviews aren't justified. Some people might just have abnormally high expectations and you really can't please them no matter what you do. I'm not one of those people, it takes a lot for me to write a 1 Star review. So let's get to it. I want to secondly say that this review is and will be entirely based on the person to person interaction I had at the drive thru, it wasn't great. I was in the drive through at 12:20 pm on Tuesday Feb 18th 2020, Incase someone needs that info. The employee taking orders for the drive thru was very impolite. She raised her voice multiple times and was very snappy and impatient with me. Again I'm a fairly simple guy and get along with people incredibly easy, and I try to see the best in people but this wasn't the greatest drive thru experience and I hope it doesn't happen again. On the flip side the food was good, McDonald's fries are the best and the buttermilk chicken sandwich was made very well but the service can make or break an experience. read more

While I appreciate McDonald's offering a "Thank you breakfast" to educators and school staff, I don't appreciate this location decision to not offer it beyond 8:00 am without advertising it. Reports from coworkers told me that Other locations did not have a time limit. They ended it at 8:00 which is right before many are on their way to work or in my case, on my way home. This location took a "Thank you" and turn it into a "we don't care about you". Way to go Fern Creek and your leadership. I will seek out other Fern Creek business who don't play games with promotions. I went back the next morning at 5:30 and the dive through person did not even understand about the free meal even though they had posters on their windows. I came up to the drive through attempting to get an Uber order and the people at the window refused to make the order for Uber, and they barely spoke English, the environment here was awful they made some of the food and then told me to give it all back and leave. The floors look dirty even if they are not. For some reason they are always showing world news even though nobody appears to be interested in it. Do not, I repeat do not go here! We had issues in the drive thru with not receiving all of our food. We called the store and the managers at the store proceeded to hang up on us. When we called the first time some teenager answered and said he was the manager, wouldn't give us his name and then hung up on us. We called back and talked to amare or at least that's what she told us her name was. We told her about our experience in the drive thru, not receiving our food and then having the girl shut the window and turn her back on us. She basically said that's tough because we are family owned so there is nothing you can do then hung up. I feel back for the family that owns this place. I dread going to this McDonalds because as others have mentioned, the service is deplorable and the parking lot has so many pot holes, the drive thru gets so wrapped around the building that it blocks cars in parking spaces. This is just a disaster of a McDonalds. They need to just knock it down and redesign the whole thing then hire managers who can turn this place around. It took me 5 min to get to the speaker once there it took another 4 min to be able to order. 2 min to get to the pay window. 2 min to get to the pick up window and had my food within a min once there. The sad thing is as McDonalds food goes this location had it prepared and served correctly but I don't do fast food for the culinary experience. I do fast food because it is supposed to be fast and this location is not. I have stopped into the location several times and it is always the same story, very slow. I don't do the drive in because everyone else does so I think it would be faster to go in, well it wasn't. The staff is laughing, signing songs and joking around. I have no problem with having a good time at work but do your job while having fun. This management clearly trains the staff to prepare the food correctly. Avoid at all cost. Working the night shift causes me to be out and about while most are fast asleep and therefore my choices for food are limited. I ordered breakfast here around 4 am and the employees all looked like they were on drugs and were far from friendly. My steak/egg/cheese bagel was burnt and the hash brown appeared as if it had been sitting in grease for hours. I came through the drive through at 2:50am when they were only taking cash, I asked if they had biscuits and gravy ready, they said yes. I ordered that and a small coke and a hash brown. They took my cash and I pulled up to the second window and waited for TWENTY minutes. I was the absolute only person in Drive through and no one acknowledged me until I made eye contact and motioned for them. They gave me my stuff without a straw or fork, then they acted like I was crazy when I asked for a large coke instead of a small because of my 20 min wait being the only car. She asked for my receipt which I didn't have one because they were only accepting cash for their drawer/system resets. I get home and realize I have no straw or fork and decided to call bc I don't usually complain but this was awful. I worked at 3 different McDonald's and I've never seen anything like that. Who really hasn't had McDonalds? Exactly. So I'll skip writing about the food. The point of this review is to talk about the service of this place that I've experienced at least a dozen times. And I know what you're thinking. If the services was THAT bad, why keep going back. Well for one, the place is just so darn close to me and every once in a while I just get a craving for a greasy dollar menu burger or a shake. The shakes actually aren't that bad. 2nd of all, I wanted to give this kind of place a chance to improve on the negative experiences. Back to the service though... my experiences to this place have been spread out across a couple of years. So I've gotten a chance to get service from many different employees and probably a couple of store managers. It's unfortunate that this place continues to have one of the slowest services of any McDonalds I've ever been to- even during non peak hours. This place is the only Fast Food Place I've had to ask for a manager to complain of a rude drive thru girl who kept interrupting me by giving me a total amount due instead of continuing to let me order. The reply I got from another staff member when I asked for a manager was " Oh yea, we've heard many complaints about her (drive-thru girl) in the past couple of days. The design of the parking lot of the store is also bad. Perhaps at one point when Fern Creek was slower, it was fine. But if you park in one of the spots in the lot and choose to dine in- don't expect to be able to get out so easily during any RUSH in the drive thru. After about 3 cars from the ordering menu in the drive thru- you've now blocked several cars from getting in or out. Though I try to avoid Fast Food places anyway, and though I MIGHT visit this place when I absolutely have a craving....I've found that I've actually already started going to another Fast Food Place maybe a mile down the road because of the much better service. read more

if i could i would take away the 1 star. this was by far the absolute WORST mcdonalds interaction of my entire life. when we pulled up to the window, we had to repeat our 3 meal order multiple times before they could even get it right. THEN when we got to the window to finally get our food, THEY DIDNT PUT ANY FRIES IN! so when we told them, instead of putting the fries in another bag, they take the bag to then only put 1 fry order in the bag. when we told them we needed 3 fries we had to pull up to the next window and wait for our fries. when we finally got the right order it was given with no apology and a very rude attitude. if these people are going to be in charge of our future, i am scared. read more
