I love Roosters. I come to this location four times a month. The food is always great, and the wings are my go-to -- but this keeps happening: my to-go orders are missing the ranch. It's happened five times now. I get home, excited to eat with my girlfriend, and realize the best part -- the famous Roosters ranch -- isn't there. It completely ruins the experience. Our server was attentive and very nice. After bringing drinks to the table we were ready to order. Our family ordered the loaded fries, Chicken sandwich, chicken hoagie, and two kids meals with the fried Mac n cheese and boneless wings. The kids meals come with two sides. The food came out relatively quickly and we dove right in. The food was good and filled us up. The kids meals are on the smaller side so we ended up ordering another side for my son. Went into Roosters today at 2:00. Manager is going thru totes looking for a shirt. Server sitting on the bench counting her tips another girl at the counter. Young woman was the hostess and a young guy looking lost. I said "2 for a booth". She said ok. She stood and stared at your seating like she was lost. Youngbguy fianlly walks us tonthe dining area. He said here is your table. The wife said we asked for a booth. His replybwas there are no booths available. There were obviously booths open. I said we will just find somewhere else and left. He was like uh ok. This is the ridiculous kind of service they have been having. It is getting progressively worse. We did eat there about once a week but have been finding alternatives. Roosters is an American wing/sports bar in the same vein as a hooters or a Buffalo Wild Wings that has had a few locations pop up over the last decade in the Lousiville area. This particular location is in the fern creek neighborhood off at the Bardstown rd and hurstbourne lane intersection. I personally love roosters and there atmospheres. They are very large with plenty of seating a good family vibe and a fun place to have a guys night to watch a football game. I was originally familiar with the Preston Highway location that also is Lousiville local Cleveland browns browns backers club (go browns!). When they built a location closer to my house on fern creek a couple years ago I was pretty pumped up. The food here I'm a fan of. They personally have my favorite chicken quesadilla in the city. The frost bread pizzas are personal sized and very good and they have a nice mixture of wings and sauces. The wife and I like to mix two sauces the donkey and Carolina gold sauces and it a a perfect mixture of sweet and spicy. The kids and wife all love these rooster locations too. Everything we have ever tried here we have all liked. Despite only being here a few years I've made new fun and cool memories at this fern creek location. Me and my good friend have had several guys nights where we get together with a large group of our old buddies and have a guys night out. I've been here for special fundraisers for my nephews baseball team that includes a buffet that has mini corn dogs, max and cheese bites and there famous chicken wings of course. I also had a baby sprinkle/diaper party at theirs location for my 4th born daughters anticipated arrival in early 2020. I will say for large events and parties this location has done a good job. The only reason this location isn't a 5 is on regular visits in a slow weekday with the family they struggle. The food and vibe is still good but the service is very slow and bad. I think the may save there better servers for game, fight and weekend nights because on those the service is top notch like the other rooster locations in the area. Overall, I'm a frequent visitor and will continue to be one. I look forward to many more family dinners, game nights, special events and guys nights at this location. read more

Everything about this place is great. It is a classic sports bar with a fun twist. I have been going to this roosters for 2 years now after moving to Louisville. I think the food is great and a very reasonable price. Yeah the ranch and blue cheese is an extra 99 cents but if you're telling me you can't spare a few more cents or two, you should not go out to eat! I have sat at the bar for most of the times I have visited, but the service is very good for a busy establishment. Roosters is always a good time when we go there. The drinks are pretty reasonably priced, and so is the food. The staff is always extremely helpful and the tables and chairs are always clean. The only thing I would say that needs work is the staff that Greet people at the door are pretty unhelpful. They don't usually greet us when we walk in and only once we walk up to the desk, will they say anything. Otherwise it's a great experience and the buffalo chicken pizza is amazing. read more

Honestly Ive been going here alot with my family and this was the FIRST time I've ever had such an ignorant waitress. I know this may sound like any other "karen" complaining but im a young person who tries to understand people. This waitress kept complaining about not being able to go home, rushed us and not only that she kept making excuses to not get us things. Service was great,,,food was terrible. I ordered a BLT that was served in a cold dry bun with tomatoes that were not even close to ripe. Small packet of mayonnaise on the side. Too many tv's blaring on every gaming surface. All in all, never will go again. A BLT is served in toasted bread, not a hamburger bun! read more

The food is always good and consistent at this location. You get what you order nearly every time. Service is hit or miss. I've seen quite a few new faces there the last few times I've been there for a game. Some of them aren't good at managing their trips to the bar or the point of sale machine very well when handling several tables. And unless you drink beer, the drinks out of the bar are either weak tasting or no good at all. I ordered an old fashioned and I think they forgot to add the bourbon. And we are in Kentucky, bartenders please learn how to make this properly and stop muddling the fruit. I'll be back again to watch another game. It is a great place to sit and watch. But I may not be drinking there very much until the bartenders can get it right. read more

I had wings at this Roosters twice a few years ago, they were nasty. Big, fat and greasy. Today, I had an Italian sub. It was great, I would get it again. I asked our very nice server if the fries were seasoned. She said no and offered to put Cajun seasoning on them. Dang, they were good and plenty of them. And it seems as though they have more of a beer selection. Two good IPAs, not just the generic stuff. I will go be going back. read more

Honestly, I haven't heard good things about this chicken chain. I'd never visited any of them because I'm not huge on chicken, but my friends wanted to meet here because it was one of the only places open at 7pm on New Year's Day. When I arrived, they had already gotten a table, and it was decently crowded. The waitress that was assigned to our table noticed my sister as soon as we sat down and came to get our drink orders. I wish I remembered her name because she was extremely kind and attentive! She was blond and looked to be in her early twenties! If I remember, I'll add that as well. My sister and I ordered waters and our friends had already ordered chips with bbq sauce and fried pickles. Both were delicious! Their fried pickles were thick yet crispy at the same time and were served with an excellent dipping sauce. I was definitely a fan. After taking a look at the menu, we decided to get an order of dumpster curly fries and two orders of chicken fingers with several sauces each. She got Korean bbq and ranch and I got ranch, honey bbq, and sweet chili. The dumpster fries hit the spot. They were loaded with delicious toppings (cheese, jalapeños, tomatoes, green onions, etc) and went super well with our fresh chicken fingers! My favorite sauce was probably the Korean bbq. This roosters is open till 1am on a Friday which worked best for a nurse on night shift schedule. I go here often with my friends for beers. I highly recommend their Buffalo blue cheese Mac and cheese. And for the traditional wings having their garlic mixed with the Thai sauce. read more

This was my first time eating at Roosers. Food was good but the service was absolutely terrible. The restaurant side was not busy around 3:20 pm, waited to be seated after asking couple of employees if someone was to seat us or seat ourselves. Ordered drinks then waited over fifteen minutes to ask if we wanted appetizers but didn't take the rest of order. It was another 20 minutes. Waited another 30 minutes for chicken wrap, fried chicken salad 1/2and fish sandwich. No refills but the server place all three tickets down while still eating. She disappeared again had to go to the front of the counter asking if they could check us out. They told the server would check us out ( she was NO where in sight). It took waiting to order food and paying over 1 1:2 hour. Management needs to train better read more

This place have some good juicy wings for it's price. Came here with a group of friends around 11 PM Thursday night, and it was not busy at that time. We got our food within reasonable wait time. My friends and I were pretty impressed by the wings that's for sure. One thing I do want to point out is, our server did not seem too happy. Wings. We come here for the wings! And how can't you! They are big and juicy and very very tasty. We have been coming to Roosters ever since we arrived in Kentucky in 2015. Someone had the wings at a party and we were like .... hmmm , gotta get some more! Since then Sherry and I have been creatures of habit. Not boring just knowing what we want! Always start with a lemonade for Sherry and a half and half iced tea for me. Then we get Dumpster Chips as the app and we split 10 flappers - just the long piece with the tip. We like them better. Dumpster chips are homemade sort of kettle chips with melted cheese, scallions, bacon and tomato! Wow just saying that can give you a coronary but trust me, you'll die so happy! The wings come extra sauce - Sweet Thai Chili and are always always crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside with just the right mix of sweet and spicy! We never have dessert but I bet they have them and other menu items but we don't even pick up the menu anymore. The restaurants all basically look the same, very casual with a large bar and lots of TVs. No need to dress up as casual is the rule of the day. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive. We always wonder how people have never tried the place but we say the same thing - ya gotta! read more

The bucket of curly fries was spread out as much as they could in the kitchen and on a smaller basket, allí had to do was shake it 3 times and all of the fries moved to one side and the waiters saw this and noticed basically I was given a quarter of fries, she apologized and said, let me see why I can do about that and of course, nothing happened. Ordered a buffalo chicken sub and there was no blue cheese crumbles on it at all, we told the waitress, there is no blue cheese and that was it nothing happened, my blue moon was served without any orange edge, again attention to detail, the one in Preston has never failed me on taste and details. We order Togo or dine in almost weekly. No experience is ever the same. One day it can be awesome and the next it's pure crap! This can depend on how busy they are too and with covid they've been short staffed. Check your Togo orders though, it's a hit or miss on them being correct.
