In general, the food and quality here is pretty good. However, the last 2 times I ordered drive thru here, there have been issues with my orders. Prior visit there were large eggshells (about quarter size) in my Sausage McMuffin. This current order, there was a breakfast sandwich missing. I know the orders were correct, because I always review the order board when placing my order to make sure everything was captured correctly. It's not even worth trying to call when I get home anymore. They offer to give me the item or a replacement if I come back. In a hasty move and a somewhat hangry toddler, we decided to go through here. Sat there.... waiting for a few minutes with no recognition. After that long silence I get a message, "just give us a few minutes, please." There was nobody in line. I know because I was getting gas right next door. I have been coming to this McDonald's for a few years now ever since I started working near this area. The front of the store and drive thru are well maintained and with a clean interior. The employees are friendly and seem like they enjoy their job. I am always greeted when I come in or use their drive thru. The pricing is similar to other McDonald's locations. I would highly recommend that you use the phone app. With the phone app you can get coupons and freebies without having to carry around the actual paper coupon. Observation 1: The owners of this McDonald's practice deceptive advertising by way of the following example. The poster on display offering two (2) breakfast sandwiches for $4.00. At the order station to place our order, the crew (apologetically) advised us that there was a time restriction on this offer. The offer ends at 10:30 AM, daily. Observation 2: Arriving then at a substitute choice, it too was met with rejection as we were (politely) advised that this (breakfast) sandwich along with the McGriddles, etc. were only available till 10:30 AM, daily. Which begs the question: Is there a fine print of the displayed poster stating this condition? And, if so, are we then expected to read from a passing car in order to glean this caveat? Why is this restriction not openly displayed at the order station(s) either? Its absence speaks to purposeful deception and poor business ethics. And, what happened to the order station display offer, which represents said McDonald's to be offering an "All Day Breakfast"? Note: Our guess is that it's too expensive to change the signage. Which in itself is disarming. We call this reluctance to advertise "resorting to a dupe campaign." Observation 3: Why NO VETERAN'S DISCOUNT at any of the stores owned by this couple? Our community is flush with locally & corporately owned businesses that honor our military veterans with discounts. Alas, not at this McDonald's nor the Oak St., and 82nd Avenue, Happy Valley locations. This is, frankly, insulting to the men & women who have honorably served our country. Our Overall Impression: These owners pay ZERO regards to the very community from which it earns its high profits. There is a noticeable lack of participation in the national ad campaigns that are troubling. There is a greed factor present in how the owners administer their business as a consequence of the aforementioned issues. The (very nice) young employees behind the counter(s) deserve a better employment experience. These owners conduct their business in a dubious manner and to the detriment of the community. We rarely visit McDonalds, but with a gift card in-hand we decided to visit the one up the street today. This review isn't so much about the food, though that holds up to typical McDonalds standards, I'm sure. I wanted to comment because I'm pleasantly surprised by the general experience inside the restaurant. The place has been remodeled recently and has a great atmosphere, nice signage, and very cheerful and helpful staff who were all smiling and seemed to be enjoying work. There is a lot of seating, it's quiet with just a bit of background music, and a nice bar-style table with stools that would be great for using laptops...which leads me to the final bonus: they have free WiFi from AT&T here. :-) Great! We come here all the time, at various times of the day on a weekly basis; and generally love the people and food - but the blonde girl with a ton of acne and long fake nails working the drive thru at night has a very serious attitude problem. She openly was talking badly about her previous drive thru customer in front of us tonight- a new low. She sighs and is condescending when she takes our order and is generally really short and rude. We've interacted with her during the day before and she seemed fine. I'm not sure what the problem is, and we are incredibly polite to her every time. Rude employees for sure. Even the manager guy was rude. They have two lines and three windows. After ordering from one of the two menus/speakers, there's a sharp turn, and that's where the first window is. I had stopped at that window (since there was a car in front of me anyway), and no one was there. Since no one was standing there, and the car in front of me had moved forward, I moved forward as well. I looked into the second window, and no one was there either, but it was blocked off/had a sign to go to the next window. I waited for the car in front of me to move, while still looking back at that first window because I was 90% sure the girl that took my order said to go to the next window. Still no sign of anyone. I pulled up to the last window and the girl filling cups didn't acknowledge us. Finally, she opened the window and told another girl to take our debit card. That girl, probably the youngest out of everyone I could see in the back, was friendly and took our debit card without glaring at us like the rest of the employees. But she took our card somewhere else. Then the manager man came back with our card and pretty much threw it at me without saying anything. The other girl that hadn't acknowledged us, but opened the window originally handed us our food and our drinks. I'm pretty sure they were being rude to us because we hadn't paid at the other window, but I'm pretty sure it's not the CUSTOMER'S fault that the EMPLOYEE at the register WAS NOT AT THE REGISTER. Good thing about franchises, especially McDonald's is that you can go to a different one. If the staff isn't quite as rude as this one, even if they're still rude, I'd much rather go anywhere else. I was with my girlfriend trying to get some food after a long and really hard day at work. The main restaurant was already closed but there were many cars in the drive through so we got in line. A human voice on the speaker told us that she would take our order whenever we were ready. We said our order and were left with silence although there was another car in front of us being handed their food. We pulled up to the window and said the operator may have missed our order and were promptly told "we are closed. That was an automated response on the machine"...even though the car ahead of us got food 30 seconds ago. After trying to reason with the girl at the window, she smirked and said have a nice day, then promptly slammed the window shut. If I could zero stars I would. The manager in the morning is amazing and the sweetest but the morning staff don't comprehend the request of a "sausage, egg and cheese with no muffin". I always have to repeat myself multiple times when I'm ordering in the drive thru. This morning I ordered 4 of "sausage, egg and cheese with no muffin" and they only gave me the sausage and cheese. This isn't an odd request to have this item with no muffin. I'm sure plenty of gluten free and people on the keto diet order this often. Get more training in for these simple requests.
