A wonderful neighborhood coffee shop, exactly what we needed. The service is great, the drinks are excellent, and the baked goods are some of the best in Portland. Everything always fresh and delicious. They have a wonderful mix of sweet and savory baked goods. My only issue is the seating. Many times I've visited, people stay at tables with laptops for three to four hours, which makes it hard for others to find a spot to sit for even 30-40 minutes. On my last visit, the people who were there before me were still there when I left 45 minutes later. I really wish the shop would consider a one-hour limit or designate a few shorter-stay tables. I'd come much more often if I felt confident I could sit and enjoy my drink and treat, but the lack of turnover has kept me from stopping in. read more

I love going to Keeper Coffee. They have two locations, but I usually visit the one in Milwaukie, although I really should give the other one a try. What makes this place stand out is the vibe. Everything is so cutely decorated, and the building they share with Pfriem Brewery gives it a unique and cozy feel. They have a large upstairs area, which I can see myself coming here with my laptop. The pastry selection is fantastic. If you have time to sit down for breakfast, I definitely recommend it. That is what I did on my first visit. Keeper Coffee was the first to have the $8 latte in Portland that I know of, but to their credit the prices of everything else has gone up so they're about average now do their credit. they don't require Tips because the service is built in in order for them to maintain consistent staffing, which is understandable. And now they have another location out in Milwaukie, Oregon, which is quite good and more spacious. They have consistent quality with their drinks, though it's quite overcrowded in there (which is a testament to their popularity). I like the fact that they've established a no laptop rule during busy hours because people at coffee shops like to camp out and this is a small spot. I also like that they don't have a lot of attrition with the staff. Other coffee shops have staff that come and go and don't seem very pleasant but the staff at Keeper Coffee always seem at very minimal congenial and most often very friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way in Portland, where a lot of coffee shops have mediocre to pour customer service. read more

Their classic coffee cake is my favorite. The thick crumb topping reminds me of the NY and NJ coffee cakes I grew up with. A slice of classic coffee cake and a Coava coffee and I'm super happy! This quaint coffee shop on the East side of Portland has a vintage feel and serves a good cup of coffee. I got a small iced mocha which had a great balance between being sweet and bold. All of the baristas were very kind and greeted me upon walking to the front to order. The inside has some seating and there are more tables outside for the nicer fall days like when I went. They also have a small corner filled with merchandise they sell in shop. I drive all the way from Arbor lodge because the coffee is delicious, the baristas (especially rory) are always so nice and personable, and the overall vibe of the shop is unmatched. This is my first time at the Woodstock location but I have been to Keeper coffee before on Milwaukee and I loved it. Today I got the coffee cake which is ok, a bit dry and hard. I think their raspberry scone is the best bakery item. I spent 10.25$ for a coffee and pastry. Expensive but worth it. The coffee is great too. I like that this location has a parking lot. Really cute local coffee shop that blew up with all the popularity on social media. Be aware of timing when you come because it can get packed and seating gets pretty packed. As you walk in there is a line that goes in between tables so can get a bit hectic but it's worth the wait. Similar to what others have posted, be aware they did have a 20% min tip but I think I received an email that they will be incorporating these in their prices now to provide a fair wage. Not a deal breaker but will run you a little more expensive than other places. After doing some research before flying into PDX for a father/daughter trip this little coffee shop came highly recommended and I can see why. Its everything anyone could possibly want in a local corner coffee and pastry shop! Quaint and cozy and obviously very popular as we went in mid week on a Wednesday around 930/10 and it was full inside. Fortunately didnt have to deal with any long lines but even of there were it would be so worth it. Friendly baristas and everyone behind the counter also seemed happy and pleasant. My daughter settled on an iced oat milk latte, I had a mocha, and we split a marionberry galette and some zucchini bread. Both coffees were amazing (the iced latte was smooth and refreshing and the mocha was rich but not overly sweet (perfect) and loved loved loved the marionberry pastry!!! Loved the area and the vibe inside and wouldnt hesitate to come back again. I'll start with the good. Wow, the food selection here is *chefs kiss*. We got the croissant, marionberry and cream galette and a quiche and everything was tasty, flavorful and amazing quality. Now the not so good. Pretty much everything else. I read the reviews before heading there and was aware of the high prices and the 20% service fee but wow, it really racks up. 3 pastries, a coffee and a hot tea ended up being $45. I was blown away. I ordered a rose cardamom mocha and it was pretty ordinary. 12oz with oat milk came out to almost $8. My wife's tea which was 1 tea bag and 8oz of water came out to $4.25. The place was absolutely packed and no menu given until you get to the front so it was hard to get to the counter prepared with what to order. Despite the tasty food, we won't be coming back. This place is waaaay outside of my tax bracket. read more
