Stopped for our morning coffee before our road trip. We got a classic vanilla latte and my gf got a iced chai latte. Both drinks where tasty. The barista was very kind and we a had a nice chat about the area and found out she was from SoCal as well. The interior is nice with seating around the windows, looks like a nice spot to get some work done while enjoying a coffee. read more

Great neighborhood coffee shop. The staff and owner are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The space is fairly small and during peek hours can be crowded inside. When I realized this coffee shop was in walking distance to my pets' vet, I told my friend who initially brought me here that it was pretty dangerous knowledge. The homemade syrups they make here are absolutely delicious. They taste like natural, fresh flavors. I've tried the rose cardamom and the orange cardamom syrups and loved both. The interior of the shop is so cute and covered in plants. The shop is also located in a little cove of shops so if you're looking for lunch, just turn the corner and head into Sebastiano's. I haven't tried the pastries at the coffee shop yet, but they all look amazing. read more

This is the little coffee closet that I hid inside in plain sight one day with a bunch of other people that inspired me to start making my coffee at home more like a latte and less like a coffee-and-cream, and where all the baristas were like DJs mixing concoctions for us rando's in a mosh pit all trying not to squish into each other since it was a chilly day and we all donned some version of a puffer jacket or poncho. What I love the most about Cinco Siete is the bar style seating, looking out toward the sidewalk, all the random succulents, and the espresso was incredibly balanced and delicious! Disappointed by Inconsistent and Potentially Discriminatory Dog Policy I've always appreciated that this coffee shop was listed as dog-friendly -- I've seen dogs inside before and even brought my own pup in on previous visits without issue. Unfortunately, during my visit today, I was barely through the door before being told my dog wasn't allowed inside. My dog is well-behaved, friendly, and not small -- a Staffie and Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who loves people and has never caused a problem. The interaction felt abrupt and disappointing, especially given the shop's prior stance on being dog-friendly. What was most disheartening is that the refusal felt rooted less in any specific policy and more in stigma related to my dog's breed or size. If there has been a change in policy, it should be clearly communicated and applied consistently -- not selectively or in a way that seems discriminatory. I hope the business reflects on how this kind of interaction impacts dog-loving customers and considers a clearer, more inclusive approach moving forward. read more

Overheard "Igor" manager/owner I presume ..... talking really unkindly to one of his staff members. We don't support disrespectful and unfair power dynamics! I used to love to come to this coffee shop but yelling at workers IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS is completely appalling. "Igor"s conduct was disrespectful and disgusting. I am never coming back!! read more

First time visit to this place and it was for a business meeting - super small but very charming coffee house. What it lacks in seating, it makes up for with its delicious coffee. I ordered a latte and it arrived with some steamed milk art. I didn't try the pastries but they looked pretty amazing too. Parking was easy but not sure I'd take the chance for a table if meeting someone again (I believe there's outdoor seating though if weather is decent.) That said, I'd happily order to-go and stroll around the neighborhood. Great local spot! read more

Small but very hospitable space. I was served by who I assume to the be beautiful and stylish owner and they seem to know every single person who comes in by name. Had a canela cinnamon bay leaf latte and it's just a warm comforting hug with subtle flavors. Adorable shop and the only coffee shop I I've been to that opens early morning. Nice little spot. Staff were nice. They have 2 wall displays of fresh roasted beans from various places around the world. With the name they have you would think they had Mexican inspired drinks on the wall which is why I went in. . Well they kind of did' The add on house made syrups were listed on the counter (not obvious) . Yeah totally missed that until after I had my drink. Grr. I would go back to give them a try, but even then, depending on how you order the drink and milk will affect that. They really should have full on names in the board. Dog friendly new coffee shop within a few minutes of my work? Uh yes please. They are dog friendly and the owner came over and gave my pup a good love (and washed his hands after) They are new but amazing. They have great pasteries and delicious coffee. The croissants are perfect! The coffee shop boasts in windows creating a bright space and there's seating for chatting, sipping coffee or working! The owner, and the staff are so friendly as well. Parking is easy and you can find street parking (free) almost anytime of the day. read more

Ordered an oat milk latte and chai latte and Dos Hermanos pastry, which is delivered daily. Gluten free and vegan pastries are also available. This spot is chill and genuine. Hip-hop and jazz create the ambiance to sit and chill with a friend or get some work done, but this space is very small, so best for grab-and-go. The drinks are delicious, expertly crafted. Perfect spot for anyone on their early morning commute to drop in for an exquisite coffee and pastry. You know, how coffee should be. Igor, the owner, is passionate about coffee, makes his own chai and syrups, works with a roaster to get the beans just right, has bagged beans for sale perfect. Nice little spot for a quick coffee/pastry and a sit and sip/chat. I had a 16 oz iced vanilla clove latte with their in house made syrup. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet and could still taste the coffee. Often in 16 oz size it weakens the outcome of the drink but not here. The croissant was yummy but I didn't care for the slight sweetness on the exterior. When I choose a plain croissant it's because I don't want a sweet pastry so that sweetness felt unnecessary for me. The space is very tiny and on this hot morning, it felt cooler outside and the courtyard had some nice shaded seats. They're dog friendly inside the Cafe which made it very easy to not have to wait and take turns ordering. The service was very fast but not all that friendly, they were probably hot, as I was and I was only standing in line. If I happen to be in the area again and am in need of a coffee I would definitely stop to support this small business. read more

Very fun local coffee shop. They mostly make their own syrups and sauces. The basic mocha also has orange flavor in it, which sounds odd at first but is actually really good. The baristas are always helpful and informative about the offerings as well. read more

I took off one star since they only have 4 tables and it's gets cramped when they have many customers at once but the service is good, lattes are excellent, and their syrups are made in house. Their little coffee area had a few smaller brands that I enjoy but can be harder to track down; Jacobson honey, meadowlands simply syrups, and Bitter Housewife bitters. I'll be back for more coffee and to look at the pottery dishes more closely! Removing one star because as I walked in the door I was greeted by a medium-small dog. It was all passive air sniffing and no contact by the pup but for a child walking with parents, a person with dog allergies/fears, or someone with a dog in their bag it could an issue. A simple hard to miss note on the door saying something like Dog on Duty, would go along way in avoiding potential issues.

They serve brunch at this location and it is fantastic, and if you're not sure what to order, get the oats - they're so good, almost like shrimp and grits! The coffee is always on point, but don't sleep on the pastries either. Everything I've tried has been memorable. The space itself is beautiful, with indoor seating, outdoor seating, and even an upstairs area! It's thoughtfully designed, cozy, and a great place to bring your laptop if you work from home and get some work done with their free Wi-Fi. What really makes this place special, though, is the people. Brittany, the owner, is one of the kindest and most welcoming people you'll ever meet. She remembers her customers, genuinely cares about the community, and creates a space that feels warm and inviting every time you walk in. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

Portland trip pt II featuring Pip's…read more Boyfriend and I visited Pip's before our flight back to LA. We've had pretty much every popular sugary and carby donut that Portland has to offer. A friend of mine recommended Pip's for their bite sized donuts and chai. We came at a right time by waking up early enough to beat the crowd. Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!

I was interested in so many choices on their matcha. Horchata iced coffe, orange latte, strawberry Ube matcha. I asked the barista if they do exchanges or remakes for drink if the customer dislikes what they ordered. She mentioned they have a NO REMAKES policy. I knew it was time to lock in instead of trying something Willynilly. She was super patient with me as I wondered what to get and discussed my hesitations. She let me sample a tiny amount of the strawberry uber syrup and lavender to make my decision and it helped. I ended up getting and iced lavender matcha and didn't regret it at all. It's been hard for me to find good matcha in Portland and they didn't disappoint. The syrup was blended in well. The flavor of the matcha wasn't too grassy, bitter or powdery. I'm sad it's a seasonal drink because I'll Miss it. I also got an almond croissant, which was good but not mind blowing. I think I'll try the banana bread next time. They have a bathroom, 1 booth, bench seating and wall seating. It would be a bit of a challenge to bring a group larger than 3 here as they're small and busy. Maybe if you sat outside.
