Surprisingly bright and clean for this typically below average chain, very friendly and well managed staff was hussling through multiple orders nonstop during my hour here, and I noticed many enjoying their lunch. I got a quick order in through the screen, curious why I needed to specify a table number when they were not bringing orders to the table? I really wish they would modernize the cafe options. Soy milk, lower sugar options, personal cup discounts, and more would give McDonald's a desperately needed fix for some nutritional and modern perks. I did enjoy my caramel macchiato for the value, large size. It is extremely sweet and lacking any balance with espresso. Thankful Monticello has a decent coffee selection! read more

my last review was some time ago and sadly, we chanced food again this morning. as always, it was simply inedible. The scrambled eggs were old, cold, and hard. The hash towns were so greasy and not cooked well, it was utterly disgusting. The only thing this McDonalds does is stay consistent with their incredibly bad food! Its no better in the other times. We were in a hurry a few weeks ago and my husband tried a quick dinner. No sauces, fries cold, nuggets old, and drinks were watered down from ice melt as they had just enough to make it watered down. Customer service was terrible. Very rude employee Nancy who has no patience with customers. Out of products and didn't refund but offered something for less of a price. Never receiving some items ordered. Went back in and was told she's to busy. Also the floors were very wet from mopping which should have a few more wet floor signs. Was in line at 10:25. Even, politely, let a couple go ahead of us. Got to the counter right at 10:30, and the menus had changed. Wouldn't let us order breakfast. We asked nicely but manager was nothing but rude about the whole situation. Clearly customer service is not a priority here. read more

Never again will I go to this place. Went with my girls and husband after spending the day at Indiana Beach. Got there the doors were locked. Asked employee she was rude said dinner room is closed. I was like well your door says midnight. So someone else unlocked the door. Went in at 11:20pm. Ordered our food waited till 11:45-11:50 to get our food. In bags mind you( gentleman that delivered it was very nice and stated well we close in 10 mins so they put it in a bag) whatever I am going to eat my food. Girl who is bagging food yells we close in 7 mins if you need a bag come get one. At midnight she yells again that they are closed and bag up your food because it's a safety issue being in the restaurant after close. Mind you someone just came in and ordered there food. So I tell her well my girls are on the bathroom when they are done we will leave. All this time you hear the manger bitching that people are still in the dining room and tells the other employees that she is going to call the cops on us if we don't leave. So girls come out and we leave mind you it is only 12:10. Never again calling and complaining tomorrow morning also. We have always stopped here after indiana beach but not anymore. read more

So this wasn't me but my sister's story. So a friend of hers came up from Indianapolis and had brought her some gifts for Christmas. One of these gifts was a vinyl harry potter figurine. Then, one of the managers, her name is Stacy, walked up, examined the figurine, tucked it under her arm, and walked away. Then, my sister said something like "Hey, that's mine!" And the manager responded with "Well, it's mine now." Not only would this be legally wrong as she could be charged with theft, but I have also heard from other employees at this same McDonalds, my brother Joshua, that the demands them to do things for her. When I was in there, today, somebody working had received flowers from the ex, and they didn't want them, so Stacy took them. But then, she replied with "Oh, you didn't have to get me flowers." Now this really killed the whole happy vibe one should get from a McDonalds. Thanks a lot. read more

I love McDonald's so giving it high rankings for food is a no brainer - so shoot me for my plebeian taste. What is unique about this McDonald's is that it is one of the nicest McDonald's restaurants I have ever been to, not including the Rock 'n Roll McDonald's in Chicago. This must be one of their new, improved, cafe style redesigns. It's apparent a lot of money went into building this place, and it works. It does lure people in because it's always crowded and the parking lot is always full. I do think the prices are higher than your average small town or highway rest stop McDonald's, but then, Monticello is also a tourist town in the summer. read more

The food was up to McDonald's standards, but the large fries, were short of being filled. There was a Long wait to just place the order, even though they were not busy. Thank goodness for the self serve kiosk. The staff was rude and not helpful, including the management. They would charge for the air you are breathing if they could. read more

My cashier was terrible. First, she told me that they don't do the McPick 2 anymore, even though it was on the menu behind her. Then she gave me a total that didn't match what was on the computer screen. Then she said my order number with no context and total boredom. My two burgers with only 1 ingredient on them took about 5 minutes. She gave me my food, then I asked whether they are in the eastern or central time zone. My cashier didn't get the concept of time zone, so the young woman behind her told me Central (although I figured out she was wrong once I got to the car), which is the third time this visit they gave me wrong information. They clearly do not know what they're talking about there and I will never revisit this location, if I ever return to the Monticello area. read more
