What a wonderful little Restaurant in Monticello, Indiana, which is not a very big town but from the minute we got there everyone was so gracious and accommodating, and we got there an hour before they closed and didn't seem to bother them at all. They treated us wonderful and the food was fantastic. What a great little place I told my family the next time we head down that way we have to stop there for breakfast because I can guarantee you. It's gonna probably be just absolutely wonderful thank you to everyone for being so awesome and accommodating to us and once again the food I recommend everyone to stop there. It was a very humid 90+ degree day so I figured I would try someplace with more powerful AC. USA Restaurant has 1/2 lb burgers, but I wanted something lighter for lunch today so I tried the salad with fried chicken. The salad was good, fresh lettuce, and sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and egg. But the fried chicken was pressed and formed nuggets, not solid muscle like one would think about fried chicken. It wasn't horrible, just not to my expectations. USA Restaurant staff have no comprehension of food allergies. The concept of gluten free was completely lost on them. Asked our waiter if the hash browns were gluten free. Her response was they use butter in almost all their food. I clarified, that it might mean flour like used in wheat bread. She said they have wheat, white and rye. SMH I kept it simple and ordered a veggie omelette and hash browns with no bread. I was sick the whole weekend. read more

I was passing through town and looking for a breakfast place to stop with family. The food and service was great (I forget the name of my server, but she was attentive and made sure we all had a great experience). One person had the tenderloin. I personally don't like tenderloin, but even I thought it looked good because it wasn't overly fried. If you want a lot of breading and grease, it's probably not for you, but if you like a balance between the breading and the meat, you would probably enjoy it. I got a classic breakfast with egg whites, hash browns, and toast. It's nothing fancy, but it was cooked well and tasted good, and the prices were fair. All of us enjoyed our food, and whenever I am in town during breakfast this would be where I would stop. read more

I have had great service here and I have also had very bad service here. If you want to take a chance with service and hope they get your food right this is the place for you. If you are looking for a great breakfast place in Monticello I am going to have to be the one to break it to you... there isn't one. Two options: drive to Lafayette or skip breakfast (I first went to Kinsers bakery because I was told the donuts were good but they are cash only?) For lack of other options we stopped at this location this morning (my wife and I) and was surprised because there were quite a few cars outside (had been here before and didn't remember it being great but no other places offered a decent sot down breakfast I could think of) the crowd is all mostly senior citizens and they do offer a special discount for those customers. The building, menu and everything is about as average Sysco as you could think of.. which sometimes surprises me. But not in this case. Food was bad, service was almost as bad. I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy which contained some average tough biscuits and some incredibly flavorless gravy. With a side of bacon.. Wife had an egg and cheese croissant and a side of hash browns with coffee. The biscuits and gravy were no bueno... the egg and cheese croissant sandwich wasn't too bad, neither were the hash browns... I never got the bacon until the end of my meal when the waitress walked out and said I'm sorry I forgot the bacon carrying it on a small plate and said would you still like it... I replied no. And she scribbled it off my bill and took it back to the kitchen? Maybe they are going to serve it to somebody else. Bill was 20 bucks plus tip.. wish I would have went to Burger King instead and I hate Burger King.. Avoid this less than average restaurant if at all possible. read more

I ordered the bacon omelette. Service was OK, didn't really come back and check on me at all. I would've liked to had my hashbrowns a little more brown, I waited for the help to come back and didn't really come back until it was time to drop the check. That being said, they did have a huge menu, so there's lots of different items to pick from even for your picky eaters in the family. Very good service, Denise was our waitress she was friendly and quick with a good personality. Ordered catfish fillet strip dinner for $11.99 and had so much food! Service was fast. Three of us ordered.0ne ordered cup of chili and salad with chicken. Salad was ok soup was chili it was not hot the cheese on top could not melt it was not a good bowl of chili. Poorly made and seasoned. The other person ordered a bowl of chili soup it was also not hot and he did not finish eating it because he said it did not taste like chili. I had senior chopped steak fries and peas. The fries were very good. Chopped steak was good but could have used some seasoning. Was not asked how I liked it cooked but was made the way I like it. When it comes to breakfast diners, my family are experts so while this place had great service, the food leaves a lot to be desired and the decor is dated and not in a purposeful way. The skillets were strange - the Mexican skillet was overflowing with chili. Better description - it was a chili skillet with two peppers and one cut up potato. The Irish skillet was served with Swiss cheese. Weird. The biscuits and gravy was a half a biscuit and a full plate of runny gravy. Bacon was not fresh. Pancakes were served quite cold so I'm not sure if they were done first and had to wait for the rest of the food to be cooked or what. The syrup is served in a metal tin pour thing which is quaint and really cute... until it burns the skin off your fingers.... Overall, it was an okay-ish experience. Just a great hometown restaurant. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of biscuits and gravy or eggs and all the fixin's...and the coffee just keeps on coming. I am new to the area but heard this was a good place to eat. 3 adults and an 11yr old for dinner. Our waitress was not the friendliest and I would go as far as saying rude. The 11yr old ordered a cheeseburger which had a very foul smell and taste. We all had Greek potatoes and asked for them crispy. They were barely brown. The salad I had had water in the bowl. The gyro dinner was dry as dust. When it came to dessert which came with our meals the ice cream the 11yr old got had a foreign object in it. We asked for a manager to let her know about our experience. She was more rude than her employee. She said there would be nothing taken off our bill. We didn't ask for anything off the bill. We just wanted to let her know the food wasn't that good and the waitress was awful. There was another waitress that came by several times to check on us and was very apologetic about how we were treated. We did tip her. There were only 3 tables of people with one being the manager sitting at. The tables were dirty and food on the floor under several tables. It was a very disappointing experience. After getting home I was sick with diarrhea for a couple hours. Needless to say, I won't be back to this place where the manager was rude and didn't seem to care at all about our experience.
