Bad customer service. We're rude. Outside doors were locked. It wasn't even busy, so I'm not sure why the rude service.

Its no longer a dine in experience. Burgers come in box rather than on a plate and you have to get it yourself at the counter instead of being served. The food was just ok, seemed better before. When you go up to order at the counter they give you a number and you take a seat at the counter or the long communal table. I like how the counter weaves through the restaurant rather than being a straight line. The ambiance here is simple, but pleasant. The service at the counter is very quick and you help yourself to fountain drinks I've had several of the burgers here but today I chose their Little Italy Burger, which was a special for the season. My wife ordered the Bobby's Veggie burger. The Little Italy was delicious. It has a spicy tomato sauce on it and Parmesan cheese. Almost reminded me of a meatball grinder. I will note that I order my burgers here medium rare, but they always come out a little closer to rare. Order it medium if you want it closer to medium rare, I think. The veggie burger is really good. It's made up of quinoa and bbq'd mushrooms. We also got fries, which are always perfect here and I love their sauce. Overall, always a great deal here at Mohegan!

Nice open yet cozy seating and friendly smiles all around. Two of us had a delicious Cobb salad - we both felt it needed a bit more dressing - but it was super fresh and tasty. One had a steakhouse burger which she really liked as well and we split Shed Fries and Sweet Potato fries. All was delicious. I knocked one star off because we all really felt the burgers should have come with fries as opposed to a pickle spear and coleslaw. For the price, an added pile of fries would have been nice as opposed to having to order a side plate. That aside, food was delicious, service was spectacular. John was super friendly and helpful with choices too. Tempted to go back to try their brunch items! Maybe before I leave I'll get back there!

I don't know if they just put a lot of mayonnaise on it or whatever they had on it. It made the bun really soggy and hard to eat. And it was almost too big of a piece of chicken like it was too stacked on top of each other so I couldn't even fit it in my mouth. I am sure if I tried something else. I would have liked it better, but I feel like with the a fried chicken place being right upstairs that it would have been a little bit different.

It is an unassuming building on the side of the road, in the middle of a neighborhood. It is about 10 minutes south of Mohegan Sun. Donatello's With A Twist definitely offers a twist! They serve a wide variety of options: American breakfast, sandwiches & burgers, Puerto Rican dishes & Italian fare. Hubby enjoyed playing the free Pac-Man video game as we waited for our food. There are a couple of seats inside & a little garden outside. Most people took their food to go. There are 7 - YAAASSSSS SEVEN! - mofongo options on the menu. Ummm... yes, please! For the uninitiated, mofongo is a dish from Puerto Rico featuring plantains as its main ingredient. They are picked green, cut into pieces & typically fried, then pounded in a wooden pilón (mortar and pestle) with a variety of spices, broth & some type of cooking oil . If you are a fan of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, you know that he is a mofongo freak. I've had mofongo before & definitely enjoy it, hubby was new to the experience. We selected the Shrimp Creole Mofongo & it was spectacular. We heard the pounding of the plantains in the back as we waited for our food so I knew it was being made special for us. The mound of mofongo was flavorful, the shrimp were large & perfectly cooked in a spicy red sauce with a little salad on the side to cool things off. We also ordered the Chicharron De Pollo with Tostones. I thought it was going to be a harder fry on the chicken but the dark meat was yummi. The tostones were perfectly fried & the highlight of this dish. Hubby can't pass up a steak sandwich so he ordered a large Boricua Steak Bomb. HOLY COW! The sandwich was ginormous!!! A ton of steak with a good amount of melty cheese topped with a spicy sauce. Hubby loved it! I saw a guy order a slab of meat & I went up afterwards to inquire what it was. A perfectly fried chicharrón - fried pork belly. It was a good combination of meat, fat & crunchy bits. As a German, I was introduced to grilled schweinebauch as a kid. It is not everyone's cup of tea because of the fat content & idea of eating pig's stomach but I love it. I should have bought another one to take with me for later! Donatello's makes a number of fresh juices & we ordered the passionfruit which was a refreshingly sweet & sour combo. They also sell desserts but we were so full that I didn't even look to see what was offered. If you are in the area, I would recommend stopping by Donatello's With A Twist to try some of their special dishes. It is a celebration of flavor & culture!

Some of the best places I've ever eaten at a where greasy spoon hole in the wall. Exception: Resteraunts must not realize what a bad impression it makes when they don't regularly clean the glass doors, windows or bathrooms. It makes a big difference to me & it's easier to trust what is coming out of the kitchen when you arent afraid to touch the menu or bathroom handle because you can see evidence of the millions of other people that have touched the doors before you. ( This waa the case here, but, I overlooked this for the sake of the review) The bar was to the immediate left as you walked in, but you were seperated from it by beams. If you contunued to walk straight, you would walk down a hallway & the restauraunt seating would be to your left, also seperated by beams & half walls. Most of the people who walked in were just picking up & 5:30 there were only 2 tables in the main dining area & 1 person seated at the bar. I sat ar the bar & ordered the ruben w/ onion rings. The Ruben was surprisingly tasty ( i didnt have high hopes), but the swiss was really cheap & had the same consistency of imitation American processed cheese food. The onion rings were greasy & I didn't actually see or taste onion inside, but I do believe they would be passable for most. I could only eat a few & got a stomach ache from the grease, that continued to repeat & disturb me well past 11pm. Overall not the worst meal I've eaten, but definately not the best. I would pass.

We were camping nearby in eastern Connecticut when a rainy evening pushed us off the campsite and toward something warm and worthwhile. Canggio was at the top of the list. The restaurant occupies a modest but comfortable space on Lafayette Street in Norwich. We sat at the small bar, which ended up being exactly the right call. That night we were the only bar guests who weren't grabbing takeout, which meant we had the staff's full attention. Small bar, attentive service -- a combination I always appreciate. We shared the mussels to start, and they were genuinely unlike any version I've had before -- in the best possible way. Rather than the standard white wine and herb preparation you find everywhere, these arrived in a rich, layered broth alongside Peruvian bread that was made for soaking. My partner made a meal of the empanada and the Canggio Ensalada together -- chicken, aji verde, and Kalamata aioli in the first, mixed greens with pear, goat cheese, candied walnut, and balsamic in the second. She was happy with both. On the owner's recommendation I went with the Pollo a la Brasa, quarter chicken, dark meat. It was the right call. The chicken is a family recipe, slow roasted, and it showed -- the kind of dish that's simple on the surface but takes real discipline to execute consistently. Tender throughout, well-seasoned, with an aji verde I kept coming back to. What pushed this from a very good dinner to a memorable one was the owner himself. He took time at the bar to talk with us about the food, the concept, what we'd thought of the meal. On the way out we made a point of stopping at the open kitchen to thank the chef directly. That combination of genuine hospitality and cooking with a real point of view is exactly what I'm looking for when I travel. I'll be back the next time I am in the area, and I'd recommend Canggio to anyone who leave nearby or is willing to make the drive to Norwich. Five stars.

The place is super cute and decorate well! It's clean and a everyone was so nice and attentive which made for a really welcoming environment. I really wanted to love the food but my Italo Peruano was way too spicy when the description on the menu/the ingredients listed didn't indicate anything that would give it that much heat. Also the steak was cut very large for being served in a pasta dish and in a bowl where it was very difficult to cut it. The Lomo was good but too salty. The dessert we shared however was amazing! We got the churros which came with chocolate sauce, strawberry puree and Lucuma ice cream! They told us it was a South American fruit! It's hard to describe the flavor but it was awesome! Kind of like a caramel/butterscotch with notes of sweet potato and maple syrup! It doesn't sound like it would all work together but it absolutely does! Overall we had a good experience and would be totally willing to come try the food again next time we are in the area!
