These are facts, not opinion. The chicken sandwich was raw and all the food was cold. Don't use the mobile app. Staff told my husband that only the person who ordered must be present with the phone used to place the order. If you call the store to speak to someone, nobody ever answers the phone. Stopped there for coffee twice. Once the wait was so long that we doubled back to the Dunkin at the other end of plaza. The second time, the coffee was just not drinkable. We had to pull over and throw it out. I did use the customer feedback link on the site to notify "corporate." read more

My mom forgot to order BBQ sauce at the order speaker and how dare she have the nerve to ask for it at the checkout window according to the McDonald's. Employee wouldn't give sauce for fries because according to a two week old company policy, sauce is no longer allowed to accompany fries or burgers. The person at the checkout explicitly explained that sauce cannot and will not accompany burgers or fries without being paid for. Only nuggets can have ONE included sauce and fries can have TWO packets of ketchup only. Rather than applying the ketchup packets to the fries and allowing one BBQ sauce for the nuggets, employee went on to explain that in our case the THREE ketchup packets they gave for the nuggets would be more than enough for both the nuggets and the fries; therefore, voiding the need for BBQ. McDonald's employees gatekeeping BBQ sauce like Frodo Baggins protecting the ring, is something not only unexpected, but utterly absurd and slightly comical. read more

We will drive to the Groton or Norwich McDonald's to avoid going here. Prices are slightly higher, service can be questionable and the food is lower quality. (hard to believe for a McDonald's, but true). I've come in to hear someone (I assume a manager?) shouting at employees, which is NOT what I want to hear when I'm trying to eat dinner, had my order mistaken MULTIPLE times and had to wait MUCH longer than what is acceptable for FAST food. I've worked fast food before, and I know how it goes, but this place has some questionable practices and is just unacceptable. Also, make sure your kid's food in their Happy Meals is cooked - particularly the chicken nuggets. I've bitten into one and had the center be cold - it was definitely way undercooked. Worst Mcdonalds I have ever been to. Ordered two fries and two plain cheeseburgers. Received 1 Fry and two loaded cheeseburgers. The tag was even on the wrapper that said PLAIN. Would have gone back but I was already 5 miles away and running late. Thanks a lot guys. Maybe if you paid attention to your jobs and did it right you might be worth the 15.00 you think you are. But you were all too busy acting like clowns and texting away on your phones. Went through the drive through around 10:30pm and ordered a large fry after a long shift, and when I got home I noticed the fries were dumped upside down on the bottom of the bag and decided to put them back into the fry box out of curiosity. The fries barely filled the box half way so I called the store and talked to the manager who served me, and she accused me of lying and then proceeded to hang up on me. This place sucks. My order is always wrong and they have young immature people working here. I got my friends and family to stop coming here because of the quality of food. The managers and crew dont pay attention to their customers and now they are refusing to take our orders in the drive thru, claiming their speaker is broken but you can hear them take the person behind you when you leave the speaker finally. The manager Art, he doesnt pay attention to the employees on their phones or stealing food while we are waiting for our food. And ive seen him drinking by the drive thru speaker in the back area, while still in uniform. Just horrible. I havent seen any manager consume alcohol and go back to work while the crew arent working. My burgers were raw and i was missing my mc chicken patty on my samdwich. I suggest reading this message to the local health department, and do NOT eat there: To Whom it May Concern: I implore you to please conduct an inspection of Gales Ferry McDonald's as soon as possible, located at 1678 Connecticut 12, Gales Ferry, CT 06335. I used to visit this location on a daily basis, each day purchasing only an iced tea. However, upon visiting the restaurant on Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, I found a dead fly in my drink. I went through the drive through, and had stopped to add splenda to my beverage. I am very lucky that I took the lid off of my drink to do so, because that is when I found a dead fly floating in the tea (see attached photos). I went back through the drive through and asked for a refund. The manager had apologized several times, and pointed out that their normal tea container was broken. The restaurant was serving the sweetened tea in the normal container with a lid and sanitary plastic bag, however the unsweet tea was in a small open mouth decanter the size of a regular glass coffee pot and was sitting on the counter. The next day, I returned again hoping the issue would have been corrected, only to find they were using the same open mouthed container, and it was still simply sitting on the counter uncovered. At this point I contacted McDonald's customer service via email. I received a response that same day from the owner/supervisor, a man named "Charlie". He assured me that he had contacted the supervisor of that set of restaurants and that the issue would be corrected (That was Friday October 3, 2014). I did not visit the restaurant over the weekend. Today, I visited the restaurant at approx 9:15AM only to find that the issue was still not resolved. The same open mouth container, was sitting on the same counter, and there were still numerous flies flying throughout the restaurant. I assume you know the workings of flies, what they do when they land, the bacteria they can carry, etc. When speaking to Charlie, he seemed very aware of the fly issue, saying that it is was that time of year, when the amount of flies in the restaurant is "heavy". The fact that it is acceptable to him to have any "amount of flies", whether it be low or high, is quite disturbing. I ask you to please conduct an inspection of this restaurant as soon as possible. I will say the staff in the day time are nice' the night shift needs training, was told two nights in a row at 2 am that it was cash only' so I ordered 3 $1 cheeseburgers and was charged $5 even, when asked why' the kid said sorry' went to the back and came back to the window and gave me a $10 bill when I paid with a five! The car behind me was charged $6 for what should of been $4! This place have a lot of kids working and they're not on the same level! Went here Jan 1, 2015 for breakfast before traveling a 14 hour trip home. Bought a #1 breakfast with coffee. Asked for a refill and was told that they don't give refills. If I wanted soda, I could of had all I wanted since the dispensers was were we ate but since I wanted coffee and it was behind the counter, they wouldn't give it to me. I emailed corporate and they emailed me twice and called me to say that was not their policy and apologized. Never has Gales Ferry, CT emailed me or called me. Our son had to go to work by 8:00 am and we were on our way home. Sorry we went there when there are so many other fast food places or sit down places to go to. read more
