Hey McD what's up? As I'm walking in, a staff member is walking by pushing a grey trash bin to the dumpster- no gloves I go inside and walk up to the register. Nobody there and the fry cooker is beeping incessantly. As I'm standing there, another staff pushing a mop bucket walks past me and yells to someone in the back that a customer is in front (me). Then two people in the back see me but they are discussing something and ignore me. I'm standing there and the french fry cooker is still beeping. It has four empty wire baskets hanging on it, none are in the oil and the french fry rack has one large fry and the bin is empty. Then the staff that took the trash bin to the dumpster (no gloves) walks back in, stares at the fry cooker for a moment then shuts off the beeping (didn't see any handwashing) looks at me standing there and walks off into the back of the kitchen. Hmmm, what, 12 minutes maybe to cook a batch of fries, nobody acknowledged me, standing there waiting.... I walk out. So I drive a few miles more on I-5 to Salem. Aah, another McDonalds... I pull in at 4pm at this different location, sign on the door, the lobby is closed, drive through only. Really? This long line of cars going nowhere...? I leave. Bad business model having the I-5 corridor out of business. These are the people who demanded raises? Had to go a competitor for dinner on the road. read more

I am a pretty patient person, but I am sick and tired of going through a drive-through and the employee does not know enough English to be able to take my order and fulfill it properly! This has happened multiple times at the McDonald's in Newburg Oregon. Last night, I decided to place my order on the app, hoping it would be accurate. As I drove up to the intercom, the Spanish woman spoke Spanish to me rather than English! I drove up to the window to tell her. I placed my order through the app and she said something to me again in Spanish and I told her I only speak English . After multiple attempts to get her to speak English, I ended up moving forward to the next window and the Spanish female there spoke half in Spanish and half English asking me to drive around and park in number one My food was brought out to my car as I was parked in number one and I asked the Spanish gal if they put a fork and a knife and napkins in my bag and she kept telling me I don't know sorry. So I looked in my bag and showed her there was no fork, no knife, no napkins, and I asked her to go back in and get me these items and she continually said I don't know sorry! I asked her if she spoke English and she said I don't know sorry! Shame on the company for hiring people who cannot provide customer service! Why are you lowing people who can't speak English that are adults when fast food restaurants are supposed to be employing high school students who can learn the business and learn to work as a team, learn to follow directions, learn, customer service, and learn to Take money and give change! Maybe I'm old school, but I never had a problem communicating with a Newberg high school student who worked at McDonald's! This is pathetic and once again, our young kids are impacted negatively! I was hungry so I stopped at this location for food. Getting cold fries that you can tell that have sitting around awhile is not fun. Paying hard earned money for food that tastes very bad. Will make me tell others of my experience. This seemed to be right at closing time because the outside lights got turned off as I waited for my order. Just avoid this location and eat better food elsewhere. I know this is the very last time I give McDonalds in Newberg my money. Kinda curious how bad the big Mac will be. 9 am on Saturday on way home from overnight work. Drive thru had three cars in front. Ordered and got into line. Then the wait began. Saw three employees looking out the window of the cashier station about 15 minutes into the wait. 18 minutes from when I placed the order, the drive thru line began to move. It did move quickly however something seemed off. Got my large coffee and breakfast meal #2 but the bag felt light. Pulled into the parking lot to check my meal order and took a sip of the coffee. It was overly sweet. The little tag on the side had 'large coffee with 6 sugars'. Not what I requested which was black coffee, nothing added. Checked the order in the bag and it was a hard biscuit, nothing else. Supposed to be a sausage mcmuffin with egg and cheese. The receipt on the bag had 'breakfast burrito'. Nothing was right. Went into the building to get the correct order and was told that since I left the drive thru, they were not going to correct the order as I could have 'messed with the bag in the lot'. Really? I dumped sugar into my coffee and somehow had a hardtack biscuit to substitute for the sausage egg mcmuffin? There is a scam going on but it is not by the customers. Avoid the McDonald's franchise in Newberg OR until they can figure out what customer service means and how to get and verify the correct order into the bag. Came here for a vanilla cone and a coffee and just wasn't impressed. First off, the vanilla cone was $1.50, which seemed super high from most McDonald's. When ordering at the self-checkout, the credit card reader was broken so I had to pay at the cashier - defeated the purpose of the self checkout in the first place. The employee didn't even utter a word. Then she went in the back to ask how to make the coffee, which gave me a high degree of confidence that it would taste off. I'm a McD's breakfast girly and really love the morning staff at this location. They're all friendly but Blanca is extra awesome, she remembers my name (even though it's on the app, I think she knows it by now) and makes iced coffee better than anyone else there. The lady with blonde hair who is normally on drive-thru in the mornings is also a ROCKSTAR! (sorry I haven't gotten your name). Sometimes it's the only positive interaction I have with other adults all day, so it means a lot. I would give no star if I could. Newberg McDonald's is the worse! I pick up grandkids who live in Newberg and often we come into King City, Sherwood or Tigard for McDonalds because the service or lack of it shows in Newberg time after time. Tonight it was a lazy order taker who did not want to add to our order. He cut us off and then said do it at the window. The person at the window had to do his job. We picked up our food and got 3 order of cold fries, 2 luke warm big Mac's, the wrong drink and no napkins. Opps! our mistake they don't give napkins at this establishment! Newberg is notorious for not giving napkins and happy meal boxes. I suggest going down the road to taco bell, Wendy's or Jack in the Box! Skip this lazy, lousy business. Maybe if we boycot they will take notice and hire people who care. Keeping in mind this starts at the top. 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a Wednesday I ordered the two cheeseburger combo meal. It was challenging to get the attention of the person who was tending the drive-through. Finally she took my order; I had to ask twice to have pickles and mustard left off the burgers. That customization request was apparently complicated. After having paid for my food, I was instructed (not asked) to "go park up front" and wait for my food to be brought to me. I was surprised that two cheeseburgers would take extra time to prepare. After a seven minute wait in the parking lot a McDonald's employee brought me my food. He suggested that I check it to make sure the order was right. I asked him if it was unusual to have to wait outside of the drive-through line for two cheeseburgers. He looked perplexed, murmured something unintelligible, and walked away. Once I got the cheeseburgers home, I opened the wrappers to find them squished and burned. Totally useless. I threw one away and gave the other to my dog. Is it policy to choose the most miniscule tomato slices when a customer adds them to a sandwich that doesn't usually come with then? It's 50 cents for 2 slices, but I ALWAYS get the ends. Oh, and when I say the ends, I'm talking... the quarter sized slice, most places throw out, cause it looks like the tomatoes butthole. So, today I decided to give it another try. This time however, I ordered 2 sides of tomatoes, which should be 4 slices. Let me just say this... I don't have a picture of the sandwich, because of how angry the site of it made me, I threw it out before the mama bear in me went over there and showed them why I was soooo mad. I don't get like that often because I'm the idiot always giving people and places, the benefit of doubt. My sandwich today had 2 butt holes and a silver of a 3rd tomato for the price of 1lbs of tomatoes. That's not a COVID issue it's a restaurant lacking so many fcks. It's very simple! Went in for breakfast about a month ago and was blown away by the excellent service I received here. The cashier was a friendly young man who didn't rush my order and had a great attitude. Waiting for my food didn't take too long. They called my number and slid me my tray with a huge smile. It was an older lady, unfortunately I didn't get her name. She was SUPER sweet. She handed me my coffee and offered me some sugar and cream. The food was great. They gave me everything correctly with what I had ordered. My breakfast sandwiches actually looked like the pictures, lol. I had to stop and think.. am I really at mcdonalds?! This is excellent! lol. The photo says it all... ... almost all... After a 10 minute wait and watching countless drive-thru customers get served, as well as 3 people inside who ordered after me, I approached the counter. The only one to look at me was apparently on break because he walked right past me with beverage in hand and never said a word. The crew member who took my order then appeared and filled a Happy Meal fry cup and walked it 10 feet over to what I now recognize as my order sitting on a back counter getting cold. Another customer walks in and that crew member (who is apparently the only one with ANTHING having to do with walk-ins at 6:30pm....) takes his order for a McCafe beverage. He then turns around and immediately heads over to the McCafe machine and begins making his drink... all the while my food is still sitting there. At that point I was irritated and quickly approached the unmanned counter. The crew member working the drive-thru saw me, walked over and said "did you need something?" To which I replied "yes, my food over there that is getting cold." She went to it, checked it, grabbed the final large fry I had ordered, and served it to me. She did ask something along the lines of "did you get your coke?", but I was already storming away. THEN, finally with food, I find that my exaggerated statement about it getting "cold" was true!! Cold, crunchy fries. My son's cheeseburger was a hamburger (my fault for not telling them to read it back to me). WORST OF ALL - my wife and I's Big Macs were cold, missing ingredients (I noticed because only the bottom half of it had cheese) and looked disheveled. The Good: It's a Mickey D's, so you know exactly what to expect: cheap fast food made with questionable ingredients and yummy chemicals. Nevertheless, I love McDonald's. And this location has a 24 hour drive thru. The Bad: After about 10 PM or so, the fries taste pretty bad. I guess they get kind of lazy, so they use old fries and don't season as well. The fries taste a little stale, but it's good for late night cravings. Try: the McRib. I had it for the first time a few weeks ago, and wow, that's chemically delicious!
