    Mushroom pizza
    Kim K.

Ordered online for pickup after a day of wine tasting. Easy parking out front to run in and pack it up. I was really looking forward to this place but the pizza we got was pretty disappointing. We ordered the gluten free mushroom pizza and overall it was pretty sad, especially for $26. I don't have super high expectations for gluten free pizza but it was quite dry and lacking in toppings. The toppings felt like an after thought. I don't know if I've ever had raw onions on pizza before. My friends who got the not gluten free pizza said theirs wasn't bad but overall for the price would expect more.

Wooden Heart Kitchen: Burrata Salad minus the Burrata and Sopressato

The ambiance of Wooden Heart Kitchen was nice. Since it was a nice day we requested to sit outside. A group of friends and I went wine tasting in the area. We went to one winery and decided to get lunch before heading to the next one. I voted for Wooden Heart because I saw interesting salads that I thought could be veganized. There were vegetarian items on the menu. Our group consisted of 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian and 2 omnivores. I get the deciding factor, mostly because it's harder to find vegan items on the menu. I ordered the Burrata Salad, though I had no idea what Burrata meant. I ordered it because I saw that there were artichoke hearts in the salad. Something called sopressato was in the salad, and I had to ask what that was. Good thing I did because it was something like salami. I mentioned being vegan. Not sure if he heard me, or maybe he doesn't know the difference between vegan or vegetarian, but I didn't know what burrata meant, and I forgot to ask about it. I got the sopressato on the side for the meat eaters. When my salad came, it had a white ball on top, I asked what it was and they said the Burrata. I took it off and placed it on the plate with the sopressato. Other than that, the salad was good. My veggie friend got the Margherita pizza and shared it with an Omni friend. They both enjoyed that. The other Omni friend enjoyed his meal.

Just went here last Saturday for dinner. The wood fired carrots are a showstopper. They were so delicious with the whipped feta cream and hazelnuts. They have a hearth pizza oven so we had to get a pizza too. The pizzas are quite large. I was really stuffed sharing one. We had the Foraged vegetarian one with mushrooms, spinach, cheese, and onions. It was really lovely too. I enjoyed the food and ambience. I wanted dessert, but I was too full.

I'm currently in town for work and after a long travel day, I was looking for something quick, fresh, and not overly heavy- this spot turned out to be exactly what I needed. I went with the Burrata salad with a vinaigrette dressing, and it wasdelicious. The burrata was creamy and rich, the greens were crisp and fresh, and the vinaigrette added the perfect brightness without overpowering anything. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient -- I felt welcomed right away. And the space itself is beautifully decorated, with a relaxed but modern vibe that makes it a great place to unwind for a bit. Overall, a great lunch and definitely a place I'd return to next time I'm in the area.

I'm not sure what to say at this point. Our first visit was wonderful. Super friendly and very attentive service. We ordered a variety of items to share and everything was excellent. We had a great time. We returned a few weeks later with some other friends because we had raved about the pizza. The service again was friendly but the pizzas weren't as good as the first time. The burrata pizza, which we had loved, had so much garlic on it that it was almost inedible. The other pizzas weren't bad, but nothing particularly special. The last time was a real disappointment. We felt like our presence was barely tolerated and that the server was being fake-friendly to us. The food wasn't good. The fish and chips was rubbery and inedible. The cole slaw was just cabbage drowning in vinegar, which ran all over the fries, rendering them soggy. The drinks weren't prepared correctly either and were missing ingredients. If that had been our first visit, we would never have returned. The place itself is very cute, warm, welcoming and inviting. I'm wondering if the server we had the last time is the same individual other people have mentioned in their reviews in which they received sub-standard service. Anyway, we'll give them one more chance in a month or so and see how it goes.

What a fabulous evening!! My daughter had her rehearsal and later hosted a dinner afterwards here! They were very welcoming to our large group (we had made reservations obviously- a group of 16!) We all had a nice long area for all- the service was efficient, friendly and prompt with our meals as well!! The meals were all beautifully prepared and I did not hear one complaint about anything!! That in itself is worth writing about! Great pizzas, salad, and pasta dishes- even the picky kids ate all of their meals- so, obviously it's 5 stars!!! Kudos!! We will be back when visiting the PNW!!

some of the most delicious food i've ever had in newberg/dundee!! absolutely worth stopping at for a hand fired pizza and the pork belly appetizer was to die for. pizza not pictured because we destroyed it before i realized we needed a pic.

Excellent wood fired pizza. Farm to Table Great wine selection. Best part of the meal was our adorable waitress, Lex!

Discovered this gem while staying at The Dundee Hotel. The ambiance is charming, and the service was excellent. I ordered the veggie pasta with chicken--it was absolutely delicious! Creamy, flavorful, with perfectly caramelized onions. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Decor is nice and our food was good. Wine is overpriced at mostly $18 per glass, almost as much as my husband's entree.

You order at the walk-up counter where the menu includes freshly made sandwiches, soups, chilis, salads, and other local favorites. Everything is made to order and comes out quickly. I ordered the Dundee Grinder, and it was absolutely fantastic, packed with flavor and definitely not stingy on the ingredients. The appetizers were delicious and fed a large party without us having to order multiples of each dish. For an entree, I had the pork, which I felt was a bit overcooked and lacking in flavor. One of the things I found oddest about the evening was the hours of the restaurant. We dined here on a Saturday night at 7:30 - immediately after we were sat we were told we needed to order promptly because the kitchen closes at 8:00. I still don't quite understand why you would allow reservations so close to a kitchen's closing time. It ended up making the meal feel a bit rushed and lackluster. Overall, it was a perfectly adequate meal but I'm not sure I would need to stop in here again.

Me and the wife wanted pizza tonight so we thought we would take the short drive to Abby's. Well…read morethe experience was horrible to say the least. It was loud and very busy. My wife ordered a large pepperoni pizza and two salads. I was waiting at the table and heard her name called I observed two salads just as she ordered and three pizzas. One was a large pepperoni. A man and a women approached the counter as I did. The young lady behind the counter got me forks for the salads. At the same time I observed the female waiting at the counter grab the pepperroni pizza and stick her hands on the corner of the pizza. I expressed that was my pizza and I did not want it since she stuck her fingers in it. She immediately got defensive and the argument started. The young lady that brought me the salads did not confirm at first who's pizza it was. I assumed since we ordered a large pepperoni pizza and there were three the pepperoni was mine. I think that's a reasonable assumption. The lady that touched the pizza became very aggressive with me declaring it was theres, because the young lady behind the counter had not said anything. So I got an ear full from the lady and the husband saying they ordered all three. This could have been avoided had the young employee told me sir your pizza is coming up next. But that was not the case she said " I called them first and they ordered all three pizzas."She stated she called there name. All I heard was my wife's name. This could have all been averted had the young lady working say immediately those pizzas belong to such and such. Instead she observed the argument and did not correct it.The lady at the counter grabbed the pepperoni pizza and continued to say rude things to me. I responded she did not have to engage with me in the manner she did. The lady replied don't talk to me I'm done talking to you. I have lived with my family in the community for over 7 years and have never experienced this kind of rudeness from a stranger and poor communication from an Abby's worker at the same time. I spoke to the manager and told him what happened and the young employee that was helping me said in my defense I announced the name and salads only. I could barely hear anything. The young employee could have assisted with the misunderstanding by clarifying who the pizza belonged to immediately to clear up the confusion. I spoke to the manager and he tried to make it right and make another pizza and salads to go. My wife and I were so upset we just wanted to leave and I asked for a full refund. I received the full refund. I sat down with my wife to try and decompress. As we were waiting the couple I had the interaction with at the counter walked by and gave me a dirty look. As I said I have never encountered this behavior in Newberg. I am very disappointed in the service and the lack for reason with this issue. I will not recommend this establishment nor will I eat there again. I feel things could have been taken care of better. Best regards food reviewer.

Well first the pizzas are an average $30-$40 for a 12" or 16". We don't mind paying a premium if the product matches. This wasn't the case. They advertise wood fire pizzas, that's not what we received. On the way out I looked into the kitchen. I could only see the normal pizza ovens. The pizza did not have the classic bubbling and slightly burned spots as a wood fired pizza has. The pizza we rated at a 6 and that's a generous number. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza. Well I thought I ordered it with chicken ? I rejoiced when I found one lonely strip of flavorless chicken, the pizza was not crisp , loads of sauce and a bit on the sweet side. Usually if there any leftovers, I will take it home. This time , I forced myself to eat what I could and left the rest. Two others in our group had similar experiences. One of our party ordered a sandwich, we believe the salt shaker cap must of came off because all she could taste was salt. The good which is what pushed the rating to a 3 star. Is the customer service. My friend is handicapped and they were very accommodating to him. The beer was nice and cold. Doubtful we will back. There is a house down the road with better pizza
