This is honestly the worst gluten free pizza I have ever had. My friends and I were all hungry after wine tasting and decided to order for pickup. Our order said it would be ready in 20, but we ended up waiting an additional 30 for it. The mushroom pizza looked amazing on the menu but was totally unacceptable. The crust was hard as a rock and the toppings were SPARSE. I mean, you can see in the photo. There is cheese on the middle half (or less), 3 total mushrooms, and then raw red onion. I am surprised they weren't embarrassed to serve this to us, as it was shocking to open. We tried to have some but it was honestly hard to eat and just didn't have any flavor. The ambiance of Wooden Heart Kitchen was nice. Since it was a nice day we requested to sit outside. A group of friends and I went wine tasting in the area. We went to one winery and decided to get lunch before heading to the next one. I voted for Wooden Heart because I saw interesting salads that I thought could be veganized. There were vegetarian items on the menu. Our group consisted of 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian and 2 omnivores. I get the deciding factor, mostly because it's harder to find vegan items on the menu. I ordered the Burrata Salad, though I had no idea what Burrata meant. I ordered it because I saw that there were artichoke hearts in the salad. Something called sopressato was in the salad, and I had to ask what that was. Good thing I did because it was something like salami. I mentioned being vegan. Not sure if he heard me, or maybe he doesn't know the difference between vegan or vegetarian, but I didn't know what burrata meant, and I forgot to ask about it. I got the sopressato on the side for the meat eaters. When my salad came, it had a white ball on top, I asked what it was and they said the Burrata. I took it off and placed it on the plate with the sopressato. Other than that, the salad was good. My veggie friend got the Margherita pizza and shared it with an Omni friend. They both enjoyed that. Just went here last Saturday for dinner. The wood fired carrots are a showstopper. They were so delicious with the whipped feta cream and hazelnuts. They have a hearth pizza oven so we had to get a pizza too. The pizzas are quite large. I was really stuffed sharing one. I'm currently in town for work and after a long travel day, I was looking for something quick, fresh, and not overly heavy- this spot turned out to be exactly what I needed. I went with the Burrata salad with a vinaigrette dressing, and it wasdelicious. The burrata was creamy and rich, the greens were crisp and fresh, and the vinaigrette added the perfect brightness without overpowering anything. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient -- I felt welcomed right away. And the space itself is beautifully decorated, with a relaxed but modern vibe that makes it a great place to unwind for a bit. Came here for a date night dinner with my husband. We didn't have reservations but were lucky to snag a couple of seats at the bar. Everyone was super friendly and you got the feel that a lot of the customers were regulars. We ordered a wide variety of food, all of which was very good. But the star of the show was the calamari. It was the best we've ever had outside of San Francisco. Next time we come back we will make sure to grab reservations so we can get a table. read more

Came here for dinner after wine tasting in the afternoon. It's a large, airy restaurant with plenty of space between tables. The service is friendly and efficiently. We split a pizza and salad. The Soppressata was good - you can really take the honey as it brings a nice sweetness to the pizza, there's some good heat from the peppers and possibly the salami. It's a sauceless pizza which I didn't realize (maybe the menu calls it out or maybe it didn't), so we ordered a side of marinara. It was straight sweet tomato sauce which was a nice touch to the pizza. We split the charred cabbage salad which was absolutely delicious. The cabbage is a large wedge charred. There's farro, golden beets, arugula and a delicious green goddess like dressing. Everything works well together. If it came with grilled chicken it'd be the perfect meal! We were too stuffed from the wine tasting and dinner to order dessert, but the choices sounded great. read more

I'm not sure what to say at this point. Our first visit was wonderful. Super friendly and very attentive service. We ordered a variety of items to share and everything was excellent. We had a great time. We returned a few weeks later with some other friends because we had raved about the pizza. The service again was friendly but the pizzas weren't as good as the first time. The burrata pizza, which we had loved, had so much garlic on it that it was almost inedible. The other pizzas weren't bad, but nothing particularly special. The last time was a real disappointment. We felt like our presence was barely tolerated and that the server was being fake-friendly to us. The food wasn't good. The fish and chips was rubbery and inedible. The cole slaw was just cabbage drowning in vinegar, which ran all over the fries, rendering them soggy. The drinks weren't prepared correctly either and were missing ingredients. If that had been our first visit, we would never have returned. The place itself is very cute, warm, welcoming and inviting. I'm wondering if the server we had the last time is the same individual other people have mentioned in their reviews in which they received sub-standard service. What a fabulous evening!! My daughter had her rehearsal and later hosted a dinner afterwards here! They were very welcoming to our large group (we had made reservations obviously- a group of 16!) We all had a nice long area for all- the service was efficient, friendly and prompt with our meals as well!! The meals were all beautifully prepared and I did not hear one complaint about anything!! That in itself is worth writing about! Great pizzas, salad, and pasta dishes- even the picky kids ate all of their meals- so, obviously it's 5 stars!!! Kudos!! My only complaint is that the hours of the restaurant are limited. It would be nice to roll downstairs from your hotel room to get breakfast on a weekday, but it wasn't an option. We are usually stay here a few months later in the year, so haven't experienced the restaurant limited this much in hours or the back part of the restaurant closed off. The sides were great, as was the glaze, but the steak was some sort of charred beef that was so full of fat, that it could not be chewed enough to be safe to swallow. We went later in the evening closer to closing time so we had an hour but that was plenty of time. Parking, EASY! It wasn't busy so we were seated right away. They have an electric fireplace, good lighting, and the tables were decently spaced. The menu was not overwhelming and pretty simple. Great selection of wine and other drinks. We ordered an old fashioned and glass of Sauvignon blanc. We ordered the peach salad, probably one of the best salads I've ever had. I ordered the ham and Gouda pizza and the hubby ordered fish and chips. Everything was delicious and sadly we didn't have room for dessert. However, we will be back!!!!! Last year we enjoyed a nice lunch here, so we came back for dinner when we returned to Dundee. So disappointing. Service was slow, but we understood that there were some large parties. We u dersyood, but it shouldn't take 20 min for iced teas. Our server was trying. Real problem was the food and minuscule portions. My husband's pasta had 15-20 mostaccioli noodles with some ragu sauce with hamburger- not your traditional ragu made with short rib. Worse yet was the roasted chicken which included the scrawniest chicken leg ever- just a leg with couscous and sweet potatoes. The leg was the size of a drummie chicken wing- for $30. Wow. So disappointing. 4 of the six of us ordered Chicken and Waffles. The menu touted "crispy fried chicken with a spicy honey glaze" on a fluffy waffle with espresso whipped cream. What did we get? Four pieces of sliced chicken, most likely prepped for pizza, that was re-cooked in a frying pan, most of it burnt, and a glop of flat espresso cream. I have not been more disappointed with a meal in a long time. The server gave us a 25% discount but in retrospect, not one of us should have paid a cent , let alone $21 for that slop. I can't imagine how that was allowed to come out of the kitchen. Why, if you're out of fried chicken, were we not told so? Did they think wouldnt notice? Also, in retrospect, we are nice people. We tipped the server what we should have, but we are getting pretty tired of shitty service and quality of meals from what are supposed to be top quality restaurants. read more
