It's been such a welcome addition to the Ambler coffee scene since it opened a few years back. I've been a long time Backyard Beans devotee, but Wake has the better beans and general quality. I've gotten a number of their drinks over the years, but my favorite is still a classic cappuccino with oat milk (they've also got macadamia nut milk as the other vegan/dairy free option). For tea lattes, I would pick their matcha over their chai. They used to have a number of pricier but very tasty specialty lattes for the holidays, but this year (2025) it seems like they've streamlined their menu. The Tall Man got his capp with their peppermint mocha syrup, though, and found it delicious. I got a vanilla steamer as a treat for my little one, and it came with a little cinnamon dusted tree. They've expanded their food options and now have a bunch of pastries (muffins, croissants, etc) as well as hot sandwiches and toasts. I didn't see gluten free baked goods, but they have gluten free bread! The brand they use is quite good (if you like sunflower seeds, which I do), but the slices are on the small side - so when I got the Early Bird breakfast sandwich, the filling was positively spilling over the sides. At least they didn't skimp on that! Adding the garlic aioli made it just that much better. The coffee shop is in a cool little converted auto shop right across the street from the SEPTA train station. They've got a number of small tables and longer shared tables, making for a great place to meet up or grab a morning drink. Some folks do cowork there, but it can get quite crowded on the weekends and holidays. High chairs available for the little ones. There's not much parking in their lot, but there is street parking as well as parking at the train station. I'll be back again and again!

Love the amazing smell once you walk in as baked sweetness filled the air but not over powering. Ranging from croissants to specialty croissants to donuts and tarts and delectable cakes and pair it with fresh made to order coffee, perfect to get any day started. You can pick a tray and it's self serve amongst all the amazing choices. As you check out, you're greeted by the most friendly and welcoming staff. You can get your pastries or baked goods warmed up as you wish. Or love the packaging should you wish to take anything to go. Everything tasted amazing and fresh. The cafe is clean and organized.

We were looking for ice cream after dinner in Ambler and quickly found Sweet Briar. The line of people waiting for ice cream was an indication it must be good...and it was!! I had the Espresso Explosion, a scooped ice cream, and my partner had a cone with the chocolate soft serve. My favorite ice cream is coffee, and the Espresso exceeded my expectations! It was rich and creamy with a deep coffee flavor that was accentuated with coffee beans that were coated with chocolate! The crunch of the beans with the ice cream was definitely an 'explosion'! My partner had the chocolate soft serve - which was a creamy and chocolaty as can be - you could see tiny little specks of chocolate in the ice cream which confirmed the luscious taste! Many of the drinks only come in one 12 ounce size, so might not be the place if you prefer larger drinks. The mocha latte I ordered was a bit bitter and not excessively sweet, but otherwise strong. Service was a bit on the slow side, but they were experiencing a bit of a morning rush, so I won't hold it against them. While it's not a place I'd venture out of my way to visit again, Backyard Beans Coffee Company seems to be a solid coffee spot for locals and offer an ample menu of food items for those seeking something to eat.

We went into Mr. Wish and were told they primarily had bubble teas, but they also had smoothies. I got a mango smoothie and someone else in my party got a strawberry smoothie. My mango smoothie was extremely sweet. Very good, but sweet. I looked at the nutritional information and Mr. Wish's drinks (both teas and smoothies) are loaded with sugar. I did not finish my smoothie because of that reason. Hopefully, the drinks contain natural sugar. Mr. Wish has a nice seating area with modern looking chairs. The restaurant was clean. The worker helped us pick out our orders and gave tips for what children would like most. He was friendly and an all-around nice guy. Altogether, I would probably give Mr. Wish three stars for their products, but I'm giving them four stars because of the good service.
