My friend and fellow yelper Nando wrote a review about this place so when I was in the area it became a must stop. Ordered at the counter. Ordered a Double Hamburger with bacon and fried onions. Waited at the counter and they called my name when it was ready. The burger was flavorful and had a condiment bar to put on some toppings. I went with ketchup of course. The burger was so tasty. Old school feel inside. The walls are filled with movie posters, & sports cards. They sell both, little overpriced on the cards but hey you don't have to purchase them if you do not want to though. I went to Old school burgers yesterday and ordered the chicken jalapeño popper the meat didn't look like it was supposed to be steak with raw onions, grilled onions, tomato jalapeño peppers pickles but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I won't be coming back here again. When I got home the sandwich was too soft. And it cost me 16.00$ for the chicken jalapeño popper just because I wanted to add onions to the sandwich. read more

Finally tried this place after seeing some good reviews. I'm not sure if those people just don't know good food or what? My "Kevin Bacon" burger was DRY and had no flavor. It didn't resemble the burger in the photo on their website AT ALL. The bun was soft but DRY. According to the menu, this burger has extra cheese but mine definitely did not and the mayo was barely there, adding to the dryness. The fries are generic crinkle fries like you buy frozen in a bag from the grocery store. For nearly $5, they're a total ripoff -- and, they have the waiting-to-be-cooked fries sitting out in the open in a grey "dishpan" just a few inches off the floor! Place is not clean, either. I was torn between a 3 or 4 star rating, but the garlic parm fries and the cleanliness of the restaurant helped bump it up to a 4. We walked in on Saturday afternoon around 2 PM. This isn't the traditional lunch hour, but there were a few customers dining in. We were greeted immediately with a smile by a gentleman at the front desk. One thing this place lacks is fountain soda. They serve bottled Pepsi products. I wasn't really in the mood for a milkshake. I asked for The Firestarter burger with a substitute on the meat for an Impossible patty. The burger was pretty standard. It would have been better with a hearty, seeded bun. It wasn't as spicy as I had hoped it would be either. The garlic Parmesan fries won me over. The mixture was blobbed on top of the fries but I stirred up the fries to ensure all were evenly coated. This is a cool place with great food and decent prices. I've had their burgers several times, and tonight I finally had their cheesesteak. It was awesome. It was packed with meat and was fresh and tasty. Darkhorse candidate for best cheesesteak in the area. If you're an 80s kid, you will definitely appreciate the interior. Its a great tribute to the video games, songs, and movies we grew up on. Every time I've gone the staff has been friendly and seems to enjoy their job. Terrific Old School Burgers it is! The name of the restaurant is very fitting, the burgers are simple not overly dolled up like some of the new school spots but these burgers are absolutely delicious. I will upload a picture later from my camera roll but trust me when I say the bun is grilled perfect to deliver a flavor that is not easy to replicate. Not sure if they have a secret homemade way of making there buns like adding a bit of butter or something but off the wall grilled flavor. First the food took 18 minutes after my "ready to pickup" time. Get a simple lettuce wrap for the burgers. The bed of shredded lettuce with dirty pre cooked bacon was not appetizing. I really like this spot. Just happened to be driving by and we decided to drop in. First the menu. Like everything looks really good in print. So I was torn. I wanted a burger, but one of the guys behind the counter says, try a cheesesteak, it's award winning. Now, award winning can go so many ways. What award did it win exactly??? Regardless, I took a chance. So glad I did. It definitely gets the trophy for best cheesesteak I've had in the last 90 days. And that's saying a lot; I have had a few....dozen this year(side note, it's protein.....yeah so it's healthy). But the part that really stood out was the cooper sharp cheese. I have heard of it before, but this was my first experience. I don't know who cooper is, but his or her cheese is a game changer. My wife had the Kevin bacon burger. Multiple items forgotten in order. This has happened a couple times with this place. We always give the benefit of the doubt for a first order, knowing sometimes things do go wrong. Last time for this place. Burger was average, nothing special. Wings were beyond burnt to a crisp. The laziness of the employee who cooked and plated the wings is astounding because they clearly and purposely placed each wing on the side that was slightly less burnt, even though the entire wing was horribly burnt. Not a single bite was remotely edible. Literally blows my mind that anyone, young or older could ever think that serving something that burnt is okay. I'm an out-of-towner (I live in neighboring Bucks County), but if there's one thing here that keeps me coming back to Old School when I'm in the Willow Grove area, it's their crinkle-cut fries. Old School is one of those rare few places that does crinkle-cut fries right, and we're talking ADDICTIVELY right. They're not your garden-variety crinkles, but more of a shoestring-like crinkle - think like a fusion between McDonalds and Shake Shack, but MUCH better than either of them. I love Old School's fries - they're always made to order, hot and crispy (You can see them coming fresh out of the fryer at the drive-through window!), and the generous portions are a nice bonus. But it's not just the fries that are great at Old School. The burgers, of course, are on-point too. I love how they use crumbled bacon for their bacon cheeseburger (and lots of it!) so you get a nice mouthful of bacon with every bite. And Cooper Sharp cheese too - a definite winning combination! The shakes are nice and thick as well with a generous mountain of whipped cream on top. Prices are alright; a little more than the fast food chains, but the quality more than makes up for it. The staff are very friendly and hardworking, and are very well-equipped for COVID compliance. Everyone inside has a mask and gloves, and the place looks very clean and well-kept. My only gripe about Old School is the lack of fountain drinks, but they have a decent selection of bottled drinks to wet your whistle. Overall, this is one of Willow Grove's true hidden gems. Excellent burgers, tasty shakes, and ADDICTIVE fries at a decent price. Writing this review makes me think about their fries... Mmmm... UPDATE (12/30/2020): Went back again today and got a hot dog and some cheese fries.
