She accepted the money then waited (what would be considered a remarkable amount of time to wait for your change back in a drive thru) to ultimately say she doesn't have any dimes, nickels or pennies and is okay for her to not give me the change from the quarter I gave her to pay for my order. The good news: Clean, new, modern McDonalds with easy access in the middle of a stripmall. The bad news: They brought some of the staff over from the old store, and the new staff is too new, so there is a perfect storm of slow service. Although there is parking on the east side, the doorway there is hard to get to and weird. read more

Legitimately the worst food experience I've ever had. We order & pull to the cashiers window, tell me why it was three girls standing there and ain't none of them actually working. My boyfriend asked one of them a question & she straight closed the window in his face so she could continue her conversation. When we finally got to the pick-up window, the employee was texting on her phone and then put it in her bra. We got our drinks and some other random ass girl comes to the window on some "what are you waiting for", we told her we didn't get our food and I've never seen someone look so confused. You would think a new building (that isn't falling apart, possibly failing basic health code requirements) would bring a boost in service and a grand change in quality. You'd think that. You'd be so, so wrong. The staff is curt and acts as if they're above this job. Even in fast-food terms, they rush through your order, This rush comes at the quality and correctness of your order; but when you get to the actual windows? PREPARE TO WAIT. 5-10 minutes for a cup of coffee. Often there are certain things that are "not available", such as milkshakes. Coffee drinks. Even the debit card reader. You know, the thing that takes: Debit cards, credit cards, apple pay, Samsung pay, McDonalds card, ect. Do people still carry cash in 2016? Some. Do most? Nope. Oak Park deserves better than this kind of service, especially with a new building. Although, they just opened this McDonald's is definitely a lot better then the older one that was down the way. The staff is more professional and the food is great. They don't have a playplace but that's okay. Some of the cons is it doesn't have a lot of seating which I can see being an issue in the future if you were to come during the lunch rush. I don't know why McDonald's can't improve customer service especially with all of the service that it renders in the course of a day. Why do you have to be so rude to your customers who are sitting in your dining room just trying to have a fast bite? Why can't you take personal conflicts outside of the restaurant instead of forcing everyone inside to be terrified that there will be some sort of an altercation or violent episode at any moment? This place is one of the worst ever. The customer service is atrocious, at best. Condiments are always an issue. I came here on 9/5/16 to get simple breakfast combos. I noticed the sweet potato pies on the boards outside, which are sometimes not even there, and ordered one. I also asked if there was a breakfast sandwich or wrap that included steak and the answer was no. So I ordered 3 meals and the pies. When I got to the pay station, I was informed that there were no pies. So I paid and moved on to the pick up station. Sorry for the language that is about to ensue. The fool at the window first gave me the last of the apple juices I ordered and told me they had no more. This idiot, didn't offer anything else. Then a bigger fool came to the window and I asked how we handle the "out of apple juice situation". He said "whatever you want". I asked for 2 orange juices. He served "1" and brought it to the window. I said I needed 1 more drink as I ordered 3. He then stated that there was an up-charge on the orange juice and something to the effect that I was lucky he was offering that. Then offered a fountain drink. I then asked for a refund and went on down to Greenfield and 10 1/2 mile to the brand new store there where they knew what steak sandwich existed, had a full stock of apple juices and gave me condiments without asking. This is commonly referred to as "Ghetto McDonalds" around here- the help is usually pissed off, the food is cold if you luck out and to get all this you must wait an ungodly amount of time, either in or outside in the drive thru. This has to be the WORST Mc Donalds EVER!!! There are 30 people at my job and the majority of us avoid this place like the plague! My wife and children came to surprise me at work 2 weeks ago and we let the kids pick where to have lunch. They picked this place to my chagrin. We waited 20 minutes for our order, the cashiers were slow and VERY dry as if they hated their jobs. When {finally} we received our order, it was wrong. I presented the issue to the manager and she acted as if I was getting on her last nerve. She then proceeded to tell one of the cashiers to "see what he wants" instead of handling it personally. Granted, they were busy but 1st, is this seriously supposed to be FAST FOOD ? 2nd, I have been in the food business for years and no matter how busy a place is handling customer complaints (especially when it is the fault of the staff) is priority number 1!!!!!! It is truly unprofessional to make a guest feel as if they are the one who is wrong when handling an unsatisfied customer. After a second try and 10min later or food was STILL wrong but we just dealt with it due to time constraints. If the owner of this location reads this, please know that your establishment needs a SERIOUS overhaul!! Your staff is unprofessional and your front line could use a serious lesson in proper customer service. This is a great McDonald's with friendly employees and hot and fresh tasting food regardless of when you go there. I love the sweet tea at this location as it is far better than other places I have been. I work at a nearby hospital so I go at various times and always get great service. Mostly I go thru drive thru but in the afternoon I enjoy going inside so I can relax and watch the news on the TV. Wow, it is clean and beautiful and the decor is upscale, very modern and very clean. The bathrooms are sparkling clean. I love the white shirts and black ties the employees wear, they look very upscale and professional. Not typical "uniforms" I see everywhere! The atmosphere is quiet and calm most of the time but sometimes ghetto young types come in creating a disturbance. They should be aware they just to fit in this nice location frequented by families and professional types. The property is lovely too. You can tell the manager is top notch and cares about the outside as well as the inside of the business. It's the nicest drive thru I've ever seen. There are beautiful roses that line the entire side of the building along with other flowers and plants. This restaurant is #1 as far as I am concerned. read more

On this day at the Oak Park, MI Location store 37212 , my husband went through the drive-thru and ordered breakfast and a large Iced tea. When he got home, he opened the top to the beverage because he doesn't drink out of straws and discovered a BLUE PLASTIC BAG IN HIS CUP!!!!!!! I am very upset about how this was handled by the manager RITA. My husband called to inform them that as he went to drink out of the cup, he noticed the bag in it. Rita (the manager) asked for the receipt. My husband explained to Rita that like most customers, he threw the receipt out the window. She stated that the drinks are made in a different station (whatever that means) and she could not help him at that point and there is nothing she can do about it. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! My husband sent Rita a picture of the beverage with the bag in it to her cell phone at (313) 401-4643 and still all she could do is apologize.
