We liked Jim Brady's, the service was excellent and attentive. We did think the food was a bit overpriced for what you got. The food was tasty though, we liked the chicken sandwich more than the burger. Overall, it was good but the value for dollar is questionable.

What I really like about this place is the service. Everyone was just so nice and attentive to us. We all really enjoyed it. Food was good too, especially liked their Tachos appetizer.

My sister & I had dropped my nephew & his wife off at the zoo for a Summer Sips event, so we decided to have dinner nearby. My sister suggested Jim Brady's which she'd only been to for lunch. So, she made a reservation and arrived right on time. We were seated right away. The first thing we noticed was how LOUD it was. It's good that we didn't have a lot to talk about because we couldn't really hear each other over the noise. My sister ordered the Baja fish tacos. She explained to the server that she can't have peppery spice, so they were going to leave that out of the corn elote side dish. But, it was still too peppery & spicy for her. However, she enjoyed the tacos. I ordered the Charlie Brown -- a cheeseburger with bacon, pickles, onion and tomato. It came with some nicely seasoned fries, which I gave to my sister, since she couldn't eat the corn. The burger was pretty good. We had a lot of time to kill, and we rarely order dessert, so we decided to eat only half of our entrees and get the s'mores for two. Unfortunately, they were out of those. BUT, they did have a dessert called The Temptation which looked good, so we got that instead. It was really good, really rich, and I doubt that one person could eat it alone. I liked the food much better this time than I apparently did the last time, but the noise really is deafening, which really turns me off. I will have to remember that should this restaurant be suggested again.

Clean, inviting, and classy with a nod to family, nostalgia, and fun. This was our first observation upon entering Jim Brady's on August 10th, 2025. We live about 50 miles from Royal Oak and come to the area for shopping and dining twice a year. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the next morning. I cannot remember the last time that every single thing that we ordered was top notch. From the drinks to the appetizers to the main course to the dessert. Including the friendly personable service not only from the greeter but the bartenders the manager and the chef. My wife used the word phenomenal. The kindness shown was unprecedented. My wife is not into waffles or pancakes however the carrot cake waffles featured are an old family recipe and my wife loved them and cannot stop thinking about them. The carrot cake dessert was in a class by itself. Speaking of best of... my wife says the risotto was the best she's ever had as well. The Scallops were seared and cooked perfectly. The smoked white fish dip as an appetizer was incredible too! It's sad that we live so far away but next time we're in town we are coming back. We wish to thank everyone involved those two days for such a wonderful experience. Our tummies, taste buds, and hearts left happy. Six Stars * * * * * * here. Not Five

Great little spot with great service and great nightly specials and HH menu. We had a girls HH night on a Wednesday and it is 1/2 off bottles of wine all day. That, paired with their great 1/2 off shareables & apps (excluding the shrimp) was a great deal, portions were the same size as normal menu items and I could've easily had 2-3 apps myself and been full. We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome, got our food in before HH was over and was attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back, and a solid spot to watch some games at the bar.

Server Scott, was awesome. Had answers to all our questions and very pleasant. Gave samples of the chicken pot pie soup and it was delicious. We ordered 3. Food was hot and delicious! Free parking a Big Plus.

We had a wonderful dinner with my in laws tonight. My salmon and veggies were delicious and had a beautiful presentation. My husband splurged on the short ribs and was glad he did! In laws had a St Patrick day special and the original burger. All phenomenal.

Overall, delicious! I came here for a short celebration! They had delicious champagne along with some appetizers. They have happy hour M-F 3-6pm! The ricotta was not my favorite but tasted decent: the Caesar salad had a very heavy anchovy taste which is a little different. The chicken poppers were the best and arrived freshly fried!

Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today at Jim Brady's Detroit, located in Royal Oak! Our server, Emily was patient, attentive and knowledgeable of menu recommendations to suit our desires. I had an Irish coffee which was good. I found the spicy chili absolutely delicious! The Caesar Salad with Brady's dressing was divine! The City of Royal Oak offers very little free, onsite parking - especially restaurant establishments. Jim Brady's does though, and that's a big plus! Recommended!!

I'm super disappointed. I was looking forward to this lunch/dinner here. The first time I came here, it was just for drinks. Saw the menu and was impressed by the story and the menu selections. My one day off and I chose this disappointing experience. The ice tea tasted like lemon with water. Not richly brewed at all. Told the waitress and her reply was "I didn't make it" I ordered the Charlie Brown. Well-done. It came back raw in the middle. I am going to post this review on all platforms. I'm tired of bad service and bad food.

Always the best of service and unique blend of flavors and ingredients on the menu at Jim Brady's. Today's lunch was fish tacos, and they were a celebration of flavor.

Not a huge fan of this location anymore because the manager was terrible on a couple occasions/visits. All the other staff was always amazing though, especially this one waiter (can't recall his name) who seemed to be known and popular with all the customers. Use to be my go to spot with the My Big Fat Greek Turkey Burger, The Boston Boulevard Waffle Puff and Nantucket Lobster Roll. Not anymore with all the menu changes.

    Chicken poppers

This place was amazing! Best burger I have ever had, and the chicken poppers were juicy. I got the bad axe and my mom got the diamond, both were juicy and flavorful. The atmosphere was beautiful but it was very loud, had to shout a little to talk across the table.

I finally got to try Toast in Ferndale for brunch!…read more The parking situation is a small lot behind the back and finding a spot on a weekend morning wasn't easy! We didn't have reservations so we did have to wait a while for a table. But, Toast made it manageable with an outdoor waiting area where you can order drinks from the bar. By the way, the outdoor area is not fully insulated, just sectioned off with clear tarp, so it can still feel a little chilly. However, it was nice having somewhere sit and mingle instead of just standing around by the door. Now to the good part: My table ordered the trashy hashy, toast egg sammy, and a muddled strawberry vanilla iced matcha. I started off with the iced matcha and ended with the egg sammy with a side of parmesan grits. The matcha was a little watery but good. The sandwich was super flavorful but very messy. I had to ask for extra napkins after but the mess was totally worth the flavor! I can't wait to come back! I'll be prepared with reservations next time!

She responded that she already had, but I pointed out that there were still crumbs there. She seemed irritated, so I even offered to wipe it myself if she gave me the towel. She then asked me to show her where the crumbs were and wiped them off. Unfortunately, her attitude throughout the interaction was very rude and unprofessional. My sister then asked to speak with a manager. When the manager came over, the other ladies in our group also mentioned the waitress's attitude. Instead of addressing our concerns professionally, the general manager became defensive and stated that the waitress did not have a nasty attitude. He then told us that if we wanted to leave, we could leave because he was not going to be bothered with us. He took our menus and asked us to leave simply because we requested that the table be cleaned properly. I would love to see better service and customers treated with respect! Ms Cheryl W.

My wife ordered the Beet & Salmon Salad, while I chose the Crispy Chicken Club with white cheddar and house-smoked bacon. The sandwich was absolutely incredible--hands down the best crispy chicken club I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the combination of flavors was outstanding. I also stole a few bites of my wife's salad and was pleasantly surprised by the yellow beets. I'd only ever had red beets before, and both varieties were prepared beautifully. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with the fresh ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are already looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu. Highly Recommend!

From the moment we walked in, you could feel it. Great music, lively crowd, and just an overall fun atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. The food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing -- everything was plated beautifully and smelled even better. Even just watching dishes hit the tables around us had me planning what I'm ordering next time. What's cool is I'm actually in the area pretty often on Sundays because I go to a laundromat nearby, and it always looks like they're hosting a really solid brunch crowd. After seeing the vibe firsthand, I can definitely see that being a go-to brunch spot. They also keep things exciting throughout the week. Every Thursday at 7 PM, they host trivia with Jonathan from Quizzo -- six rounds covering different topics with chances to win prizes like gift cards. That's the kind of midweek plan that turns a regular Thursday into something to look forward to. Axe throwing has seriously become one of the most fun social activities out right now, and having expert Axe Masters guide you through it makes it even better. There's nothing like that satisfying thunk when the axe hits the target. Between the food, the drinks, the games, and the overall energy, The Corner Grill is more than just a bar and grill -- it's an experience. Definitely a spot I'll be back to.

They have a "gamemaster" who helps you select from the hundreds of games they have available. My wife had the Eggs Benedict, her favorite breakfast dish. She said it was very good and she particularly liked the potatoes that came with it. One final note (and this was not reflected in my rating): the seating in the outdoor section is pretty tight and a couple with a large dog was seated next to us. I'm not a big fan of people bringing dogs to restaurants, but if they are well behaved, I can deal with it. Unfortunately, at one point this dog got excited by a dog coming by on the sidewalk and jumped up and started barking at the others dog, just inches away from me. It was quite startling and its owner was not particularly apologetic. With such a confined space, I think this establishment may want to reconsider whether it allows dogs in their outdoor seating area.
