Blatant racist mocking by staff - unacceptable experience. I'm posting this after taking time to process what happened. In the moment, my priority was de-escalating and calming my father. I'm now documenting this clearly. Friday, April 24, ~1:15-1:25 PM My father ordered an iced vanilla latte and food at the kiosk. When our order was called, an employee said "we are out of vanilla" with no explanation. When I asked what options were available, she rolled her eyes, gave a dismissive response, and walked away. I asked for a refund. A second employee then stepped in and handled things professionally, explaining alternatives. I appreciate her. However, another employee approached us and repeatedly mocked us, saying: "Chong chong chong, are you guys fighting, what are you saying?" I asked what she meant, and she continued. My father, who is not fluent in English, was clearly uncomfortable and had to raise his voice to tell her to stop. This was unprovoked and unacceptable. For identification: the employee had a name tattoo on the inside of her right wrist (starting with "T," possibly "Tammi"). I expect management to take this seriously and address it. Always have to park and wait at least 20 minutes after ordering in drive thru . Girl at drive thru took my code for points off my order and they didn't come off my order but the points were removed from my app. Was not even morning rush. 9:40am. Went there about a week ago, got a Big Mac, turns out I bit into and found a crusty toe nail. Talked to the manager and she said "I don't give a fu*k." Not a very good way to talk to your customers. I really don't like giving bad reviews, at all, ever. I'm the type that sides with workers, and I've also run several of my own businesses. But, there's REALLY NO EXCUSES for this. When I arrived with my mother, there was actually NO OTHER CUSTOMERS, not even drive through. I'm a patient person, n I tend to sympathize w workers. They weren't rude, or anything like that. It also wasn't busy. So, I'm confused. We stood there, took a fair amount of time, deciding what to order, then approached the counter. But, even tho the girl was there, she didn't talk to us for a while.... Is this some kind of local culture thing that I don't understand? I don't get it, because from a business perspective, this makes no sense... VERY AWKWARD to just stand there.... look at you, u see us.... IT'S OBVIOUS as to why we're THERE..... SO....... WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??? I and my mother make sure to be CLEAR, EASY TO UNDERSTAND, and SHE ALSO worked at McDonald's a few times, including 1970s, 80s, n 90s.... so, WE UNDERSTAND what it's like to work there. She also worked in Greater Philadelphia, and New Jersey which has a MUCH HIGHER population, and I've also worked similar jobs myself. Perhaps, there's a culture & population difference???? I realize there's differences in 21st Century McDonald's... also, I was told they don't have salads. So, perhaps McDonald's in Virginia has some obvious differences. Suffice it to say.... After FINALLY making an order, we just waited there for a long time... then, more and more customers came in.... who were also just forced to stand around. There was some kind of dairy accident all over the floor. Ok, I get it. Stuff happens... but, the mess just stayed all over the floor, workers just came back over & over to look at it, and seemed really upset over this.... but, no one ever got a mop, and it was like everything was on repeat. Like I'm stuck inside a computer simulation glitch. Ok.... so, there's a dairy spill, on the floor, maybe a machine malfunction.... and over & over they're coming over to look at it, have a reaction take, and repeat this over and over.. I am so lost... did reality somehow break down in The Matrix, or something??? I have no idea how long we stood there, other than it being quite a long time... and NOW THERE'S A LINE. So, they finally started calling out our number, but stuff was missing. I ordered an ice cream sundae. But, I just got some ice cream poured into a plastic cup. No nuts or decorations. Is this the definition of a sundae in Virginia???? Because no other state I've ever traveled to does this. No nuts on it, chocolate, or any toppings... So, if this is a culture difference, it's a pretty harsh culture shock for me. I get it that McDonald's is different in various regions, but I feel pretty ripped off. Then, they got a burger order wrong, and didn't even give me my burgers. So, Mom had to come back in, and inform them they didn't give me my burgers, and re-order & pay for the burger my father actually wanted. Also, the quality of the food was very poor. My father's meat was dried up. I don't understand what exactly went so wrong. Aren't there supposed to be protocols, procedures, and so on? I thought McDonald's was a Blue Chips Stock. They had a very slow drive thru and when we pulled around to the first window we figured out why it was slow. There were three employees standing there chit chatting and when they were done they finally decided to engage their customers. There was no greeting, no thank you, nothing. The only reason we went to McDonald's was because it was late and all the restaurants in that area close early. If you have somewhere to cook, you're better off heading down the road to Walmart and picking up some groceries. read more

Went through the drive thru and ordered an iced coffee and steak bagel. They take forever, they just line people not the side when they don't want to hurry up and fill orders. Asked for a manager to get a refund, they took their time and never showed. I ended up losing money for my sandwich and was late to work. If I don't have to go there I won't, the manager and their families will claim it's the customers but at what point do they take responsibility for their actions. The guy at the drive through seemed to be playing around, probably thinking he was funny which he wasn't. First greeting us by saying "Welcome to Walmart." Then when we asked if they had Coke he said "no but we have Coca Cola." When we asked for an icecream cone, not sure if they were joking either but a girl talked on the speaker all of a sudden asking if we wanted a waffle or kid cone. (Not sure if the waffle cone part was a joke or not). We also asked to change the size of our drink. When we paid (they didn't recite the order) and got our order, it was wrong. So we had to wait for that and as we were waiting the guy was just holding the ice cream cone so that was melting. read more

Worst McDonald's EVER! The order is always wrong, food comes out half cooked at times, the employees could care less about the patrons. During busy hours, expect to sit in line for better than 10 mins before your order is even taken then pray you don't have to pull over and wait another 10 mins cause your meal won't be ready by the time you get to the window. It was explained to me by an employee of the restaurant that it's about the production numbers. I don't want to say all, but most don't even great the patrons, acknowledge you when you get to the window or even say thank.you after the transaction. I try to avoid this specific McDonald's at all costs! read more

This was just another average McD's that we stopped at on our way back to Philly from a wedding in the OBX. Service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. I broke my rule about eating at places like this while on vacay but this was a hunger emergency that tasted oh so good. read more

Excellent service, very clean, great atmosphere. Napkin and straw buckets at each table very convenient. Fries salted to perfection and my special order burger with no pickles prepared as asked. That was important because I usually throw the damn pickles in the garbage or out the car window. Frappe machine was also clean and functioning which in not always the case where we're from in Easton, PA. So, great place to stop for a quick meal while traveling. read more

I feel like all I ever review is my bad experiences at mcdonalds, but I generally hope for the best. Accounting for the unusually long line tonight, I expected maybe something to be a little off or for the employees to be stressed. However when I got to the window, I was never greeted- just "big mac meal- $6.82" and handed my food. While we were still exchanging the food I politely asked for ketchup to which the cashier shut the window and went back to her conversation with another employee. I don't expect to be greeted my a bell boy, however every time I come here I start to question if a requirement of working at a McDonald's is to not have any manners or home training. read more

Not a bad McDonald's. Newer looking restaurant. I stopped in around 8:30pm on a Sunday on my way to the Outer Banks. I had a new buttermilk chicken value meal and an Oreo mcflurry. Service was quick and the lady who waited on me was a very polite older lady. My only complaint, which I have with a lot of McDonald's is they didn't use the machine to mix my McFlurry. I've noticed they do this at most McDonald's to save time or avoid cleaning the machine. They just stir it by hand, which doesn't have the same end result and not everything gets mixed at the bottom. All in all, this is a pretty nice McDonald's. I've seen some pretty dirty ones in past years on my trips down here, but I'd definitely have no problem stopping here again. read more

We've given this McDonalds more money than I care to admit. 9 out of every 10 times we come here the order is WRONG. just 5 minutes ago my husband ordered a quarter pounder and a 10 pc nugget with honey (part of the buy one get one for $1 deal). She asked which sauce he wanted and he told her honey. Also within that order he asked for an Oreo Mcflurry with Extra Oreos (which it did NOT have), a medium Dr. Pepper and a Vanilla Milkshake. We paid, got to the window. First thing we noticed is his "Dr. Pepper" was in a McCafe cup, no biggie...but the cup wasn't even full and clearly they were running out the soda as it was light brown. He asked for another, was told they're out so he got a coke in a normal medium sized cup. Finally got the food. Pulled off and parked to eat......guess what??? We got a BIG MAC, QUARTER POUNDER, AND HONEY SAUCE IN THE BAG!!!!! So frustrating. And don't even think about calling to complain because there is NO good customer service. cant give 0 stars this is the closest McDonald's to me they don't want be bothered by customers I clearly sate my allergy to mustard. and every time I order my mcdouble it has mustard thank god I check or I would be making a hospital trip. I waited for 30 minutes one day for a 10 piece nugget and fries, if I hadn't already paid I would have left. not to mention the employees cant do simple math. if my total is 10.20 and I give them 20.25 they have no idea what to do. these are the workers who think they deserve $15 hourly. if I have to go through the drive thru just to have to park and come in the store and get my order fixed because something's wrong or forgotten why even have a drive thru. this place needs a serious employee overhaul. Not sure why I went back to this location but never less I did....I ordered a Big Mac and a Happy Meal. After getting home and starting to eat my dinner I realized that my Big Mac didn't even have any Big Mac sauce on it. It was the dryest burger I have ever eaten.
