    Chocolate shake
    Tim T.

2025 It's been a while since my wife and I ate here, and I forgot to write a review -- so here it goes. My wife and I were traveling home from Williamsburg and decided to take Route 17 instead of I-95. By the time we reached Saluda, we were getting hungry, so we checked Yelp to see what was nearby. There weren't many options until we got closer to Tappahannock, and that's when we decided on NN Burger. We sat outside on the patio, where they also have a TV. We ordered our drinks, which came in small pitchers -- a different approach, though I imagine it might lead to some waste. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries to share, and when it came out, the server had already cut the burger in half and split the fries between two plates, which was a nice touch. The burger was really good, and the fries were just as good. After finishing, we ordered a chocolate shake, and it was excellent. Overall, NN Burger was a great find along our drive. If you're in the area, stop in and give it a try.

Interesting place. Was on a road trip from Raleigh to Colonial Beach and passed thru Tappahannock for a late lunch. Very few customers on a Monday at 2:30. Was seated quickly and drink order taken. Was a little surprised when Ashley brought our water and sweet tea to us and was served in a bar pitcher with straws. I'm thinking I guess this eliminates the need to refill a drink but what a beast to pick up to drink. Not cool in my book, and the tea cost $4.50 + 12% tax + tip which made it almost a $6 drink! Should have ordered a beer at that cost. So Ashley came back and took our order of Grilled Fish Sandwich with chips and my Jamin' Bacon Bleu Burger with chips. The order came out in good time with good size protein portions on both sandwiches. My wife did not think her fish sandwich was flavorful, did not taste any tarter sauce and fish had no fishy flavor. My burger was flavorful as well with the house chips being very crispy. I guess Ashley was too busy to come by and check on us as she did not ask us how everything was. We finished our meal and Ashley was nowhere to be found for our check. I had to step up to bar register and ask for a check and pay there. Place was clean, restrooms were kept up, service was so,so.

Incredible ambience and stunning service, there's not much I can say, but a picture will make up for 1000 words. The burgers were out of this world and the freak shake is suddenly worth it!

PSA: do not come here. AC was broken inside and it must have been at least 100 degrees. Waited 10 mins or so for an outside table and there is a fly infestation. I'm telling you -- flies EVERYWHERE. Get a screen, perhaps? Waitress took so long to come out we wondered if we needed to go inside and then when she came she didn't know what an arnold palmer or a pinot grigio was. Nor did she know the milkshakes on their own menu. Drinks took forever to come out. Ordered the food which also took an hour and the appetizers came with the food, not before. Mozzarella sticks were sysco frozen, probably tossed in a microwave. Waiter dropped the sauce that came with the sticks and it splattered all over our Uncle's nice white shirt. Fries flavorless, burger covered in grease. Genuinely dirty, hot, and disgusting. Employees look and sound miserable. They move at 2 mph in this heat. Actually appalling.

The pitcher sized drinks were a good idea since the waitress never came back.

This place used to be good. I was there yesterday and it was so bad I wanted to go brush my teeth. The spiral chips were horrible and burnt. The burger was barely warm and very well done / dry. The bun was actually cold to touch. The fries were pretty good and the only enjoyable part. I asked for a plain burger with only ketchup and American cheese but they put lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles, etc.... but no ketchup and no cheese. The waitress never came back to see if we needed anything. They spend too much time making the outside into a tourist trap and not enough time making good food or providing good service.

Large space and tables are not very crowded. Freshly prepared burgers. My group had a simple cheese burger which was good. A bacon cheeseburger which was also good. I had a French onion plant based burger and I'd say that it was barely cooked. The French onions were cold and the cheese wasn't melted onto the burger at all. 2/3 isn't bad. The crisp potatoes were more thick cut potato chips. Dark and well done. Ok. Not the best burger that any of us have had in Virginia like their claim however the service was great. There's a. Nice little Handwashing station in the dining area so you can clean your hands before and/or after your meal. That was a nice touch. We were there on a Friday night and they have live music which was also a nice touch.

Take your girl here to get the perfect photos of the insane milkshakes with cake slices on top of them. They have a swirly handwashing station that's as fun as going down the tubes at a waterpark, you'll have your girl smiling the entire time you're washing each other's hands.

All three of us ordered Entrees in which my son had Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and a veggie. My granddaughter had Steamed Shrimp with French Fries and I had their Fried Shrimp with French Fries and Cole Slaw. We were all amazed at the presentation of the food as well as the quality and taste. It is evident they have expert Chefs and Sous Chefs. When you walk into the entrance, you immediately see beautiful waterfront scenery. This particular day, there were hundreds of geese feeding right in front of our table. The dining area is very large and you're not sitting on top of each other. Dry large windows to see the water throughout the Restaurant. Our waitress was very accommodating from the drink order to our dinner choices. She came back several times to see if was anything we needed and for dessert. We had to pass on the dessert as we were full to the brim from our entrees. We have already decided we are going to have our family events at the Ruddy Duck as they are designed for large parties and the Food, Service and Ambiance was over the top. It's way beyond a 5 Star Restaurant!

My party was seated, ordered drinks and appetizers, and only when we started ordering entrées did our server, Faith, suddenly inform us there were no crab cakes due to a "crab shortage." At a seafood restaurant, that's something you tell customers immediately, not after they've already spent money. The story didn't add up. The day before, we had crab cakes at SALT Waterfront Kitchen with no issue. After leaving Ruddy Duck, we went straight back to SALT, ordered crab cakes again, and were told point‑blank that there was no shortage. So the excuse we were given at Ruddy Duck was misleading at best. The whole experience felt deceptive and disrespectful. We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values honesty or basic customer service.

We parked in the lot across the street although there is 2 hour street parking. Our server was friendly but it was a little disappointing that one of the drinks we wanted couldn't be ordered because it wasn't available (not sure why because it was just an old fashioned and we could clearly see the whiskey displayed behind the bar) so we ordered a different drink and the exotic mushroom pasta entree I ordered had a choice of being served with gnocchi or pappardelle pasta (which I preferred but again, it wasn't available so I went with the gnocchi). One of my friends got the beef sliders with mashed potatoes ($3 upcharge!!!) (they wanted the beef stroganoff but the chef wasn't able to make it without mushrooms) and my other friend the Brazilian beef stroganoff. The food was delicious. The ambiance was typical of a tavern with the TVs broadcasting the Olympics and the tall ceilings caused it to be a little noisy but not unbearable. We were too full for dessert but the carrot cake had been recommended so we ordered a piece to go (the biggest slice of cake I've ever seen!) along with a slice of their lemoncello cake. Good experience, I would've given them 5 stars had they not been out of so many things and unable to accommodate my friend's wish for no mushrooms

Since we were informed that we couldn't make reservations on the same day, we did have about a 45 minute wait when we got there but we didn't mind. We were sent a link to track how far we were in line, which I thought was very helpful. Once we were seated, our server came over right away with waters. She was extremely nice and gave us time to look over the menu. The Potato Leak Soup was on their March Specials Menu so we decided to order that with a Bread Basket to start. The bread was delicious, very soft and warm, it was served with a whipped, honey butter and herbed oil. Unfortunately, the soup was cold when we received it. I'm not sure if it had been sitting a while but we did have them returned. Oddly enough, they were returned in a larger bowl, not the same size cup, but with the same amount of soup lol. It definitely was weird but it was indeed piping hot and the soup was delicious. The Crab Stuffed Mushrooms were great as well. I decided on the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, my daughter chose the Chicken Marsala and my sister went with the Hand Cut NY Strip. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp, the flavors were great and the NY Strip was cooked perfectly. My daughter wasn't a fan of her Chicken Marsala but they did switch it out for some Salmon. Overall, my daughter had a great birthday dinner yet again. Our server was new but we couldn't tell because she did a great job at making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious! I will always recommend Sedona Taphouse for anyone looking for a great meal and dining experience.

You can feel the care that goes into everything they do, especially the food. So much is made from scratch from the biscuits to the sweet treats and it truly shows in the quality. The layout of the café is also really well thought out. When you first walk in, there's a seating area up front, and then another space in the back that feels like the main gathering area. As the weather warms up, the front area opens up and gives you that airy, open feeling and honestly, there's nothing quite like enjoying seafood by the water. Families are clearly welcomed here, which I really appreciate. The front area has a few toys for kids, like oversized Connect Four, and the bathroom is spotless. It even has a changing table, and right outside the bathroom there are coloring books and crayons neatly set up such a thoughtful touch. I also have to give major credit for the seasonal décor. When they decorate, they truly go all out, and it makes each visit feel special and festive. On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable, and the food is consistently excellent. I've loved everything I've tried from something as simple as a peanut butter and jelly to the seafood platter. This place has heart, personality, and amazing food. I can't recommend it enough.
