Been going here for years and time and time again there are employees who are extremely disheartening and rude at the drive in. It's unbelievable. Even the nicest one has become terribly rude and nasty at the window. And each time I experience a rude encounter I tell myself that I'm never going back; but I do out of convenience. Yesterday I learned my lesson when I was treated like trash to say the least. Ordering my food was meet with huffing and puffing over the speaker. First window, rolling of the eyes and the window's slide was slammed after I was given my receipt. Next and last window was a riot. More rolling of the eyes, rude tone and when I asked for ketchup I was given a glance as if I was less than trash. Today at 7:30am I'm at the ODU location and was met with smiles and giggles through and through. Every window a smile. Every window has good energy flowing As much as I love supporting businesses a block away from my house, I'm going to unfortunately never return to London location in Portsmouth . I'd rather drive three point two miles away for the smile's and giggles at the ODU location. read more

I went through the drive thru and had a good experience. The staff were fairly busy, and while not especially friendly they were definitely professional and nice enough. I was headed to the hospital so I am glad the traffic wasn't too bad. Getting to the left turn lane requires crossing three lanes and squeezing into the light OR making the other exit and then doing a u-turn and while the staff can't help this it is annoying. Overall the food was decent and normal McDonald's. read more

I placed an online order and set mobile spot 1 as my location for curb side delivery. 25 minutes later I was still waiting. When I went to walk inside to look for my order the door closest to the curbside pickup was locked. Once I walked around the store to the other doors, I had to wait a few more minutes before someone noticed me standing in the front of the store. I explained to her that I had an online order for curbside pickup and had been waiting over 25 minutes and she went around the corner and came back and said here it is, someone mislabeled it, which was not true because I could see the Mobile 1 on the ticket. the absolute worst location in perhaps the entire world. sunday night crew is particularly insufferable, management is incompetent, food is wrong and takes too long 100% of the time. from missing sauces, incorrect sandwiches, stale fries, and everything in between. was sent to wait at the 3rd window for THIRTY MINUTES for some cookies and ended up only receiving 2 of the 3 ordered. unacceptable all around. this one star is a massively generous rating considering their consistent lack of performance. read more

If you want a sip of the worlds best sprite, you have to come to this McDonalds. I don't know what it is about it- it's simply crisp, refreshing and delicious. I'm a fan of the new cups too. It almost glistened in the light as the drive thru clerk handed it to me this evening. I was in complete awe. This is just the beginning. Everything else in my order was prepared to perfection. I know this is the local homeless and shady character spot to be inside and also loitering outside, but this McDonald's smells like old fry oil always. The smell is so strong- it will linger in your car if you go through the drive thru, and obviously if you go inside, call it a day. Their customer service is very poor. I literally felt like I was bothering the workers in placing my order. I go here maybe monthly, and they always very poor service. The food is okay- never any real complaints about it. Sometimes the fries are old and limp, but that is rare. It should never happen, in my opinion, but that's the reality of having poor McDonald's team members who don't care about anything. read more

I don't expect much from fast food joints, I stop there only out of convience. Today i stopped in to grab something before an appointment. Placed my order at 12:11 and got my order at 12:40. When I asked to just get a refund after 25 minutes of waiting the cashier told me she just took my order. It was about 12:35 when we conversed and told her the recept time was 12:11. She then told me that i need to be patient and they are only human and i need to calm. I am a pretty calm and rational person but the responce really got me angry. After being at Portsmouth hospital all day long we stopped in here to get something quick to eat as we were STARVING. We honestly probably wouldn't have came in the first place. After placing our order at the kiosk and we sat down waiting for our food for a good 10 minutes. After getting all of our food and finally about to start eating a female worker came over and informed us they don't do "dine in" . Every time I come this location I'm always impressed with how hot and fresh my nuggets and fries are. I love that every time I order ice cream the machine is not broken. I usually have a good experience. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because customer service could be a lot better. The employees always seem rushed or blah. Went last night and ordered a combo with side of McNuggets and of course told to park in #1, then 10 mins later she comes over and gives me burger and McNuggets, I said where are the fries that goes with the combo and she asked oh your ordered fries with it????!!!! Then took the bag and came back out few mins later with fries/burger/nuggets but they forgot the McNugget sauce. The lady parked next to me also ordered a combo (which is standard with fries) and she had to go back inside for fries too! Then the food was not even warm, McNuggets not crispy and looked like they were made 2 weeks ago and been sitting on the heating lamp this entire time! This is why Chik Fil-A and many others can get it right and are leaders in the fast food industry. I'm surprised McDonald's has stood the test of time and still exist. My recent visit the this location was horrible it took them over 10 mins to get my food in drive thru. If I could have given them a 0 I would have don't be fooled by the newly renovated location because the problem here is the way they are operating this location. Why have drive-thru signs that says "Drive-thru 24hours" when in fact that's not the case. As a person who works in public safety, my last 4 attempts to order food in the drive thru at 3am was met with " We're only serving Doordash customers" I'm not a fan of having a total stranger who's appearance is usually questionable deliver my food in bedroom slippers and a dingy T-shirt.
