I love the vibe here - there's a ton of seating across a few rooms and most people I've seen are also working on laptops, reading books, and quietly listening to their headphones. You have to park on the cobblestone street which really adds to the appeal. I normally grab a bagel, but today I was in an avocado toast mood. The breads and ingredients are always fresh and the drinks are thirst-quenching. There are shelves near the register where local artists sell some goods. The staff is great. Every time I come here I am very satisfied. A cute location near downtown, adjacent to cobblestone streets and old-town charm! I've never had a bad coffee here. My favorite so far has been the German chocolate cupcake! This is a pretty popular cafe near downtown. Decent amount of seating inside, but it's usually filled especially on the weekends. Quiet and clean space. Plenty of options for coffee and even alcohol if you do choose. As for the food, I got the Turkey Fig and Pastrami Reuben. Bestie came for the weekend but we were saddled with a yucky, cold, rainy and windy Saturday so we decided to start with a coffeehouse & bakery tour. We had 3 places on the route with Cure being the first. Since we planned to eat a bite at each spot, I dined light with an order of mascarpone & blueberry compote toast with a small water from the counter. Bestie had a bagel sandwich and I had thought about ordering that but thought it might have too much breading (I was wrong, it looked perfect). Even though I knew we had other stops, I still devoured each slice of my toast. The tart mascarpone paired really well with the sweet compote. I'm so glad I didn't fill my belly with a drink. I love this little area here but parking is a nightmare. Next time she visits we'll bring the man along for front door drop off. Oh, without realizing it we sat next to the wall of pornography. I can see how a mother with children in tow might find the artwork on this particular wall offensive but it didn't bother me. From here, we left for The Chelsea Bakehouse. We planned to sprinkle in some geocaching and museums visits to work off all this delicious food. I would definitely recommend them if you're close or don't mind walking on cobblestones. Close to Ghent and downtown, Cure sits on Botetourt in what is probably one of my favorite sections of Norfolk with historic cobblestone streets near the river. I stopped in late one afternoon for conversation and a pick-me-up with coworkers. There is a handful of 2-top tables outside and plenty of seating inside with wifi and lots of spots to plug in the laptop. Ordering is at the counter and they will bring your items to your table. They offer rotating seasonal beverages and regular selections that are served hot or iced. No low-fat milk, but they offer almond and soy. They also have a tasty food menu for breakfast and lunch. Collectively, we had the iced pumpkin spice latte, iced vanilla latte and a coworker got the smoked rosemary club that he swore would bring him back. Service was really prompt and the drinks were so tasty! My only complaint was that the drinks were so full, the barista splashed mine on me and didn't offer any extra napkins or bring straws with our iced beverages. Prices are reasonable and the drink was so good, I definitely plan to return. read more

And then I got the Smoked Rosemary Club: roasted turkey, cured ham, crispy bacon, leafy greens, red onion, house smoked rosemaryl aioli on toasted rosemary ciabatta. The crispy bacon was actually crispy. The leafy greens were actually quite leafy. The smoked flavor was actually smoky. This sandwich delivered on every ingredient. The flavors and textures all brought something to the table. This wasn't just a coffeehouse sandwich. Someone put thought and love into this. Throw in a pretty good iced coffee that actually brought flavor to the table as well, and this was one of the better lunch experiences I could have imagined. I don't get to Norfolk much. They use Counter Culture beans (which my spouse assures me are quality roasters). We ordered three different types of lattes. My churro latte was made with oat milk and unlike the oat milk drinks at a certain national chain, this one didn't make me sick. It was a little bitter for me, the brew is strong! I liked the flavors of the drink but will try something different next time. The cashier was nice and more than happy to answer our questions regarding what was in the drinks. Parking can be challenging since it's in the historic downtown area. There is a large public parking lot not too far away. The shop is tiny and you practically stand on top of each other while ordering. Seating is limited. Definitely more a grab it and go sort of place. Unfortunately, I only ended up with a picture of the plants because I was focused on getting to studying - but at least it gives you an idea of the view outside. I ordered a blood orange iced tea and it was exactly what I was craving. Very yummy and sweet but not too sweet. The service was quick and we got our drinks fast, even though they were fairly busy. Cure Coffeehouse is one of the best coffee shops I've been to in the 757 area and honestly a front-runner as one of the best in general. I was given the suggestion to check them out and made it here this week with a friend. We came on a Tuesday around 10am, easily found street parking and sat inside. They have lots of seating, mostly inside but a few tables outdoors, as well. You order at the counter and the drinks and food are brought out to your table. When ordering, we did notice that the service wasn't super friendly or helpful. I asked one question and was brushed off a bit and the rest of the interactions were just a bit stand-off-ish and unwelcoming. I did still decide to give 5 stars because they surpassed my expectations for both coffee and food. They have a list of specialty lattes which all sounded amazing. I got an iced churro latte and it was the best coffee drink I've had since moving here months ago. For food, I ordered the turkey and fig sandwich and.... speechless. I opted for the Beetroot Latte with whole milk. It was creamy and very earthy like beets naturally are. They add a bit of honey to it so it's already sweet. I should have added more sugar because I just prefer things to be sweeter, but opted not to just to watch my sugar. That's how great it was (that I didn't need to add more sugar). I did want to nibble on something, but their bakery selection was very limited. My choices were cookies or a walnut scone. Didn't ask if it was made in house or if they just didn't receive a delivery from their supplier. One of the best if not best spots in the area to post up shop for a weekend and get some work done - if you can find a spot that is. There's a studying area in the back that's a little quieter. Coffee here is pretty good, I'd say one of the best in the area, and they mix it up with seasonal drinks like your typical pumpkin spice but also for pie day they did a pie latte where they have a pie dough crust around the top of the cup. They've got a standard list of signature drinks: SIGNATURE LATTES - CRAZELNUT (caramel and hazelnut) - MEXI MOCHA (dark choc + cayenne), - HONEYCIN (honey and cinnamon) I recommend these as I've had them the most frequent. I'm a hazelnut lover and you can't go wrong with caramel. For the most part, they taste like the sum of their parts so if you like those ingredients you'll enjoy it. I like that they offer this variety. Honey Cin is particularly yummy and has this nice little sweet and spice going on. MexiMocha has a touch of heat which is fun. You don't see these combos everywhere so come here and get something new to excite your taste buds!
