Wow. The cashier actually told my girlfriend that she couldn't have her Big Mac on the QP bun, as she has for the last 40 years. To add insult to injury, the Big Mac had almost no lettuce. Trust me when I say that I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a McDonald's like I have with this location. I've never experienced such greed as I have at this location and I have been to many locations across the globe. This store is very clearly a franchise because what they've done is gouge the prices so that if you were to use a corporate deal or coupon, you'd be paying the ORIGINAL price at any other corporate owned location. Now, is this bad? One might say so. I understand that this is far off the beaten path in Arizona but my god this is abhorrent. There's no reason for a 10-piece chicken nugget order to cost $7.89 when that's literally the cost of a MEAL elsewhere. The increase in price is across the board. For example, I used the $1.50 off coupon for a mccafe and ended up paying $2.00 for the medium size... which is literally the original cost of the medium drink elsewhere. To top it all off, the service is EXTREMELY slow. There was absolutely nobody in the drive thru line and yet it took over 7-8 minutes to get our order curbside. When we got it, our fries and burgers were cold. Now I know that people have historically complained but when I tell you that this was not only the WORST order I've ever gotten from McDonald's it really doesnt begin to cover it. The way McDonald runs this business is horrible. Ordered at the kiosk, because you basically have to now. I was eating in. It took 25 minutes before I went to the counter to ask where my order was. We were missing 20 nuggets. Check orders. The food was a mess. There's quick and efficient and then there's messy and rushed. SOS on menu board showed customer at drive thru had been sitting at the main window for 5:30. The food wasn't fresh and they were in the midst of an incredibly busy rush. What is the deal with asking for barbecue sauce? I just got gaslighted at McDonald's about it. I ordered a large fry with a coke, and I said I wanted 2 barbecue sauces before I paid for the order. Very clear. The woman said she would just give me some for free. Cool. Then she left to go do whatever. I received my order from a man. There was no barbecue sauce. I asked for barbecue sauce and he reluctantly gave me one, telling me "next time, it's a charge, just to let you know." I said, "can I have two? I had asked for two." I even said, "can I pay?" The food is what you'd expect from any McDonald's, I do enjoy the food, but the inconsistent service is what I'm having problems with. There are days when I go that everything is fast and smooth through the drive thru. Then there are days like yesterday that just baffle me. This particular McDonald's in Prescott Valley really is a disappointment. Never fails when it comes to ordering a Vanilla cone. Not once, since I have moved here in 2019 have I ever gotten a Vanilla cone from there. There would always be an excuse. "Sorry machine is down" or "sorry we are out of vanilla ice cream". It is a bummer when you go through the drive thru just to order a vanilla cone and have them say they're unavailable. You're bummed but at the same time frustrated because now you're stuck in the drive thru. A drive thru that never flows. So you're impatiently waiting. It would be nice if there's like a notification prior to entering the drive thru that they're out of vanilla cone or whatever else they're out of so people won't get stuck in the drive thru. Another McDonalds with all you would expect at any McDonalds in the nation. The architecture is the usual, with plenty of space for yhose who eat in and use the free WiFi. The menu is what is found all over America, the staff mostly young and eager to take your order. The dining area and bathrooms are clean. There is plenty of parking and easy access onto the street. On the way back to Phoenix from Flagstaff, there was a fatal accident on I-17 that shutdown the highway for 1/2 a day. Since I had to get back to Scottsdale, we decided to take a detour via Prescott/Wickenburg. On the way there, we stopped by this McDonald's for a bathroom break and some lunch. We ordered a couple of McDouble value meals. The food was good by McDonald's standards and the restaurant and restrooms were clean.
