It's got a lot going on, In that there is a club down stairs, food is served upstairs and there is also a lot of focus on it just being a pub. I've been a good few times and it's usually mobbed. I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. In other areas it might not be my first destination, but where it is it ranks quite highly amongst the places I would stop for a pint if passing. Sometimes it even has some unusual bottles of craft beer hidden in the fridges which is always a good thing. Could be a three on anther street, but a better option on queen street, so I will go with a positive 4 stars.

Bacon, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, black pudding and bread. I dreaded trying the black pudding because it is made with cooked and congealed blood from cattle or pigs. For me at least the thought of eating congealed blood was unappealing but I wanted to at least try it. It's been a breakfast staple for the Irish and the British for many years. It taste like a normal sausage to me. Our lattes were delicious. The pancakes were good but tough and the french toast was basic. Their bacon is very meaty and tasty. The eggs were cooked perfectly.

The sauce was OK, not great. Which brings us to ketchup. Heinz ketchup in the UK is just a little different from American Heinz. UK palates apparently appreciate a condiment that's slightly sweeter, with maybe a hind of cinnamon and maybe cardamom. I like it, but it's kind of a funny thing. Your tongue may expect one thing, but since it gets another, there may be some cognitive dissonance going on. Don't let your brain tilt to the "it ain't right" side! No! Gently, mindfully, pull it over to "Mmmmmm, this is good." Because it is. This isn't an American burger joint. It's a Paisley American burger joint. Dude, you're in Scotland. Enjoy it, it's good. Go there. BTW, the taxi stand is a few steps across the square next to the train station. It's about 5 - 6 pounds to the airport Holiday Inn, one pound cheaper than our Uber ride coming in - and the Uber driver was an asshole who gave us a lousy review, preventing us from getting the return trip.
