Bad location but my go to! The front door is locked so ring the doorbell and wait for someone to let you in. The fries are hit or miss, most of the time old oil but it's a good pick me up. Favorite deal of all time is $2 bucks for a large fry and a large unsweetened ice tea on the app. The best fix. Recommend either curbside or in person as drive thru is horrible here. read more

I cannot stand how many times I have came to this McDonald's and every single time they've gotten in my order wrong driving through the drive-through they do not give you your receipt as you pass through then when you come to the second window, it's like did you get your receipt as you're explaining to them your meals incorrect they do not explain to you using the app what's accepted what's not. Then you go on side to try to explain to them because you can't hold up their line so they make you park and when you get in nobody knows what you're talking about. I purchased 2 small orange juices and 2 breakfast sandwiches, totaling $18.99 this morning. I gave the cashier at the drive thru window a $20 bill. I should have gotten back $1.01. Instead, the cashier only gave me a single one dollar bill - no penny. When I asked for my penny, she said this location does NOT have pennies. When I went to the pick up window, I asked to speak to the manager, which the lady at the window said she was. I asked for my penny. She said "no", we don't have pennies. This is my usual go-to because it is nearby. They do a decent job on the orders, occasionally messing them up, but not too often. They've had a problem stocking the filet o fish lately. It seems they've been out of it for weeks. I've only eaten inside a couple of times, and it's like any other McDonalds. I usually order my fries and Nuggets crispy and half the time they get it right. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed, I'd put this place in the top 10 percent of McDonalds I've been to. You won't get the service of an In N Out or Chick Filet, but if you want something quickly or are craving salty fries, you'll appease that desire. Parking is a nightmare here, especially when it's busy. read more

Review for Drive Thru - I appreciate that there are two lanes for the drive-thru to speed up the process of ordering as this location gets pretty packed. Located in the corner of the strip mall makes it an easy place to stop in for some quick meals. Claimed my Thank You Meal and ordered with ease and they honored it until the last day. I would say that the quality of the food here is good, but my Filet-O-Fish was skimpy on the cheese, otherwise, it was good and the fries usually range from warm and soggy to fresh and hot out of the fryer. I will say that their soda machine tends to run flat, especially the Sprite. The staff at the drive-thru have always been quick and pleasant with no issues. No McDonald's will blow you away with their quality of food, but it will always hit the spot when you need to fill your belly. This location gets very busy, but they do a decent job in keeping their line moving at a reasonable pace. Their orders usually come out correct here, but one thing I have noticed is that you have to be careful when adding mayonnaise or other condiments to your burgers, as they can overload your sandwich. I normally eat at McDonald's once every 2-3 months because it really takes me back to my child hood as I used to love coming to McDonald's as a kid. I miss the characters that don't seem to show up anymore. Bring back Grimace! Still, I really do like the Big Mac. This is fast food at it's best and worst, but again I'm a sucker for the brand. What happened to the great friendly staff at McDonald's located at 1142 N. Capitol Avenue in San Jose? We understand that every business are trying hard to adjust to this current Covid-19 pandemic but does this mean sacrificing good customer service? There are several McDonald's near our neighborhood but our family have always gone to this location for its great friendly customer service above the other McDonald's. Today at 5:16pm on 1/3/21, however, was a horrible shocking disappointment. The lady at the second window was rude and insulting in every way that was completely shocking. First of all, she handed us 2 drinks, which we asked for a drink holder (since that would make it easier for us to carry when we go from our car into our home). She made a frustrated face frowning her eyes/eyesbrows at us. We said okay, nevermind, we don't want the drinkholder anymore. She handed us our bad of food which had zero ketchup in it. We politely asked for ketchup and she gave us 2 (seriosly!?), so we asked for more and her body language shows even more frustration. She practically threw the sauce at us and if we hadn't caught it, it would have fell to the floor. Second of all, why is she acting as if ketchup packages given to a customer would be deducted out of her own personal paycheck?! And third of all, the previous staff manning that second window before her has never been so rude. If she does not have the professional customer service for that job, then maybe that is not the right job for her, it would better go to someone else who would enjoy and appreciate that job more. When I tried to tell her how unprofessional she was acting, she closed the window on us, and waved her hands for us to go away. I hope this feedback reaches the Manager, who has always done a great job in the past, or perhaps there has been a change in Management? This is the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. They are ridiculously rude, no one wears name badges and if you have issues, they can't even help you. I ordered a shake with my app. Apparently, their machine was down, which wasn't the issue. The issue was that my daughter wanted a shake and nothing else, so I asked for a refund. The employee could not explain to me why she couldn't give me a refund. She called someone on her cell phone to tell me. I even asked for her name and she ignored me so she wouldn't have to tell me. She just kept cleaning the shake machine. I'm sorry, but customers come first. Especially if you were already helping me. Your machine can wait. So they told me to contact the McDonald's app for a refund. So I've sent in three messages about needing a refund and I've been getting the run around. I don't understand how you can run a McDonald's app, not a third party app, and not refund my money in store. Perhaps they should just take shakes off their online app so people won't have this issue, since they hardly ever work anyways? The last 5 times his order isn't followed through, no apologies from AM manager, employees have receipt with order still don't follow it. It's very frustrating that this business doesn't care about customer service. Management at this company just doesn't care providing customers with positive experience. They treat you as if they are unaware they messed up your order. We've had to come back not once but three four times and still be charged. No apology from anyone.
