Before the call even connected, the business name was rattled off with such an "I don't care" tone that my introverted side almost hung up immediately. But I didn't. I placed my order to go, and she asked if I wanted dressing. Confused about why I'd want dressing with tuna salad, I politely said no thank you. After a pause, she replied, "So... ranch?" Still confused, but defeated at that point, I just said, "Sure." She told me it would be about 15 minutes. Twenty minutes later, I walked in to pick up my order, only to hear the same employee blaming the kitchen and saying they "must not have received the order" and that it would be just a moment. Given the "I don't want to be here" attitude I'd already experienced, I wasn't exactly shocked that the order may not have been properly communicated. Thankfully, the kitchen staff got it together quickly once they realized the issue. The tuna salad was very pickle-heavy, and the chicken salad leaned a little too hard into the mayonnaise for my taste, so it wasn't my favorite meal ever. That said, the atmosphere itself was relaxed and comfortable, and I can absolutely see why locals enjoy the place. Maybe next time I'll try a different dish. At the end of the day, I'm just out here trying to support local businesses. It would be nice if the employees were just as enthusiastic about supporting those local businesses by being welcoming and attentive to the customers who choose to stop in.

It's right next to a gas station and the name...well...let's just say I had questions. Usually it's the places that are a hole in the wall and dives that are the best, though. Let me just say...after I ordered my sandwich and saw that it came with pickles, I was already a happy camper before I tried the sandwich. That was probably around four years ago. Then I took a bite...and it was unlike any sandwich I'd ever had before. It did get a little messy, but what's good food without it being a little messy? Honestly, I'm kind of a mess so it probably had something to do with that. Four years later - nothing had changed. I love going there to get a sandwich when I'm in the area. I just wish they were open a little later. My top three picks are the Birdie, Greek, and Real Italian. You can't go wrong with any of them. I've also tried the Wally, Sand, Pitching, Flip, Original, and New Yorker (sometimes a family member will let me try some of their sandwich...and vice versa). All great. There is just something about my top three though. I love that they are made fresh to order, that you can customize them, that they have an option for gluten free bread, and unsweetened or sweet tea (their unsweetened tea is delicious). I usually get an extra pickle when I remember. They have decent selections for sides as well. Nothing like a good sandwich from Wedgies and a cool drink in the summer! I do wish for more drink and side options...but that's me being super nit-picky. Get yourself a sandwich from Wedgies! You won't be sorry. Sometimes, calling ahead or placing an order ahead is the best way to go because it's usually very busy. Give a nice smile to all the kind people there as well. They do work hard!

Yes, the bread is quite peculiar but it's delicious, and the stuff between the "slices" is equally good as well as plentiful. I went with the Real Italian and found it full of flavor. Now I'll need to make a few return trips and try some of the other selections.

This thing is an absolute flavor bomb. Stopped into Roast Sandwich Market in Moore County and…read moreordered the General Tso Chicken on gluten-free bread and... wow. First bite I got the hit of fresh cilantro and crunch from the peanuts, then straight into that crispy chicken--perfectly fried on the outside and still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet, tangy, a little sticky, and so good it should probably come with a warning label. The gluten-free bread held up like a champ under all that goodness, which is a small miracle considering how loaded this thing is. Fair warning: you're going to need extra napkins. It's messy, it's drippy, and it is 100% worth every saucy fingerprint. Service did take a hot minute, but we landed right at noon on a Saturday, so the place was slammed. Even with the wait, I'd order this sandwich again in a heartbeat. If you're anywhere near Moore County, do yourself a favor and get the General Tso Chicken at Roast. Your taste buds will thank you--your shirt might not, but that's what napkins are for.
