This is the worst McDonald's in this little small area Portsmouth / Suffolk / Chesapeak!!! I sent my little 79-year-old grandmother in there just to pick up a Happy meal for my daughter and it took her almost an hour and 20 minutes to get their order.... On top of that I call and try to make a complaint to the manager not only was she rude to me she hung up on me when I was trying to explain to her what was going on!!!! I understand when you understand things can get very hectic but it's really unprofessional and just unexcusable to be extremely rude to a almost 80 year old lady that's been waiting in line for almost an hour and 20 minutes for an order for their great grandchild! If she would have been more understanding and apologetic my grandmother would have no problems with that but she couldn't even apologize she gave her a smirk and was so disrespectful I wouldn't even send a dog in there to order. Went there this morning (Sunday) at 7AM and ordered 2 sandwiches and four drinks (2 teas & 2 coffees). I literally dumped the coffees out on the ground they were literally cold, not even room temperature !! No one else in line and they can't even give you 2 straws for your drinks. I have been to this McDonald's a a number of times since it is pretty close to my house and I pass it on my way home. Unfortunately, I try to avoid this location if I can due to the poor experiences I have had. Food Almost any time I order buttermilk chicken strips or a crispy chicken sandwich, I have to wait for my order. Occasionally I have to wait for my chicken nuggets as well. It seems like most of their chicken items are prepared fresh, which is nice, but it also removes the "fast" component of a quick stop in to McDonalds. Most other items ordered (burgers, fries) have been available quickly. Their shake machine has been down multiple times during my visits. Service This location can't seem to get orders right. I have had something missing almost every time I have ordered from here, and I only order for my wife and I! The first time I went, I ordered through the drive thru and had a missing box of nuggets and one order of fries. I called them as I was turning around to head back and was hung up on twice. I ended up going in to order and explain what happened and was told that it would take a few minutes for them to prepare my food. Once it was ready, an employee handed it to me nonchalantly and walked away without as much as an apology or thank you for waiting. The second time I went, I had to pull over to a designated spot to wait for my food. This time, after 15 minutes and my food never coming, I had to go in to figure out where my food was at. They forgot about me and had to remake my meal because it was cold. Physical Location This location is not the easiest to pull in and out of due to it's narrow entrance and exit onto a major road. If you are leaving and need to cross traffic, it can take you a few minutes to get out. This also causes a backup when people are trying to leave. First, the person who took my order (KS#15) was extremely rude saying "what the fuck else" as I'm trying to order my food AFTER I had already explained that it was a large order. Second, they threw all my fries into the bag so they dumped ALL in the bag and didn't even fill the fries containers up. So I paid for large fries but got all medium. Then told to park in the drive thru spot to wait for my food. And waited another 35 with STILL no food. My kids really wanted an ice cream cone on a hot day and being a person of my word and having said I would take them we waited an interminable amount of time. An hour later and I finally have an ice cream cone. It is not more than 1 inch of ice cream. This McDonald's never gets it right we have been going here Since last March so it's been almost a year and I don't think they've ever gotten our order completely right. We have dairy and egg allergies in the family and they really do not seem to care . I make sure to let them know and look at the menu before driving up and it's still wrong so I don't leave the drive-through window until I checked on my food. And every time we've ordered DoorDash they've gotten it wrong this time they forgot the kids drinks and straws for sodas. There was one time we ordered DoorDash they forgot stuff I think it was actually allergy related that time and then we had a door dasher go to pick up a fixed order and it was wrong too! By far the worst McDonald's I have ever been to in all of the states (and overseas) I've visited. The line is always backed up around the building due to slow crew service. The service is SLOW. On multiple occasions, when you ask for something, such as ketchup or dipping sauces, the window person has attitudes that make you feel like you are slowing their work down even more! The food has occasionally come out cold. An example was chicken nuggets and fries that were cold to the touch and stale. On another occasion, I ordered curbside pickup and pulled into my slot. I waited for 50 mins as the cars kept going through the drive through. I went in initially at the 30 mins mark and the register member said they would bring it out shortly. When the 50 mins mark came around, I went back and asked for the manager. The manager told me with an attitude like "why are you bothering me with your issues" and told me that she didn't see my order. I informed her that I have been waiting for a long time and have already paid and she stuck out her index finger and said " I said I didn't see your order!" . I told her it was nothing to get hostile about and I just wanted my food. They gave me my food slowly on purpose (by looking at me and mocking in a slow gesture and laughing with one another). The manager without looking said "have a nice day and enjoy your food!" I was very skeptical on whether or not I should eat the food. I've been here more than I'd like... its the only McDonald's near me but nearly everything about this place sucks. The only positive thing is it's clean! Bathrooms are always clean and the restaurant itself looks good. Now for the negatives- location SUCKS! I've witnessed 3 separate accidents where people left the parking lot and got hit on the way out because it's on the worst corner in Suffolk. Next- food. Never hot. You will wait 20 minutes for cold food. Third- everything is broken. Ketchup machine. Kiosks. Random drinks only spit out seltzer. Fourth- order is NEVER complete. I have never once had a full order given to me. Missing drinks, fries, condiments, sandwiches, entire meals, giving a bag instead of the dining in when the ticket says dine in and vice versa. You either get nice employees or ones that literally tell you they hate their job. Coming once every three months is more than enough for me because it stresses me out. This place needs new management. New ownership completely. Came here with my sister and my nieces. We had a flawless ordering throw the kiosk. After this, we started looking for napkins and ketchup for the girls. There was none. The lobby clearly had not been cleaned up and restocked from the lunch rush, yesterday. The only person working the front register was moving at the pace of a two toed sloth at the lull after mating season. A former Karen, now in her elderly years, whispered to my sister that shes been waiting 20 minutes for a lone Big Mac. She was promptly handed a Gucci bag sized McDonalds bag that can feed 2 homeless shelters. Ten minutes after that happened, the sloth-like employee "AirPod" since he was clearly listening to music or on the phone with an obsessive significant other who enjoyed hearing him breathe, asked us what order number was ours, which made me happy that we had put our table number in the kiosk. We received our food, my sisters burger was wrong, and they almost forgot my chicken nuggets, except for my sisters reminder about that portion of the order. By the time we received them, my nieces were done eating and ready for breakfast. There were also 8 orders on the screen during which the manager (a fellow sloth like creature) decided to say "Fuck this" and either went to smoke or quit. My fries and are old now. This McDonald's Is the most absolute worst one in Suffolk, they're slow as f*ck, they can't get orders right and they're rude for no reason. I came to this store on Sunday to get breakfast for me my girl and her son. We ordered 2 sausage egg and cheese bagels, one sausage biscuit with cheese and two hash browns. They forgot both of the hash browns and made my girlfriends bagels wrong they put an egg white on one of them but a folded egg on the other then when she went back in there to get the issue fixed they told her "that's how they're made" bullsh*T how do you made two bagels different from the other? Not to mention they forgot about her 3 times after they told her that's how the bagels are made. We waited over 20 mins and had to deal with a screaming toddler because of these people. I recommend going to the McDonald's off Holland rd by Lakeland high school. Absolutely ridiculous and terrible service from this place and all the employees are teenagers so ofc they don't give a f*ck because they're too busy goofing off rather than doing their jobs.
