The cashier decided to short change me 2 cents. This is apparently due to a nationwide penny shortage, so their policy is to keep customer money instead of issuing sufficient change. As much as I hate sounding like a tight wad, penny pincher, McDonalds profits are in excess of 8 billion per year. The franchise owner makes a lot more money than I do... drives a nicer car and lives in a nicer home. I don't care about a penny shortage. Got there, ordered, and it took 20 minutes to get my food. Check my bag and they gave me the wrong sauce and no napkins. SMH

It's clean but the wait after your food is cooked is terrible. I watched my food sit on the counter for several minutes before they decided I could have it. App is a nightmare. I have up using it. It's McDonald's right? It's fine for what it is. Seems super crowded at times. The help seems friendly and it seems like a cleanly establishment too. Average experience, but it didn't knock the world off of its axis. I got hash browns and a bacon egg and cheese bagel. Decent food and it served its purpose. Expensive and incorrect food! Placed my order in drive-thru. Order taker was pleasant and correctly entered my order as was shown on the display. I frequent McDonalds, but not this one, as I don't live nearby but was just passing through. I was shocked to see a single cheeseburger was $2.49 for example. This is about 50% more than other McDonalds locations! I paid, and when I got to last window I was asked to pull into spot 2 and they'd bring food out. Wait was around 5 minutes. The bad part is chicken sandwich I ordered was supposed to be spicy, but it was plain. Disappointing! There were only 3 items on order and they got one wrong. Will not be returning to this location. From other reviews I've read on this place, getting orders wrong is their "norm". read more

I am a fellow business owner in the Tamaqua Area. I wanted to reach out to you about the experience I had at your Hometown location today. I went through your drive through for lunch for my family. Upon arriving home, which is about 20 minutes away, I realized that over half of my order was missing. I called the restaurant to see what could be done. I asked for a refund for the missing items. I was told by a very rude employee that I needed to come in person to get the refund. I explained to her that would take some time, since traffic was crazy and I needed to get back to work (again, I own a business in town). I asked her to refund my card. She rudely told me no and hung up. I called back. At this point I was very frustrated and asked to talk to the manager. The same girl as before informed me she was the manager. She told me I needed to come back, in person, with the receipt in order to get a refund. I told her that I can't do that right now and asked what time she works until so I can get there while she is there so I didn't have to explain the situation to a new person when I arrived. She refused to give me that info. So, as to not miss her being there I headed right there. It took me about 45 minutes to get there due to traffic. When I arrived, with my receipt, the young girl who said she was the manager refused to give me the refund starting the way I talked to her on the phone. Let me perfectly clear. I was not rude, I did not curse, I did not name call, I did not threaten anyone, and I did not say anything to warrant this. I was upset. With good cause. $25 worth of food was missing from my order and my time is very valuable. I did not deserve to be treated this way. I was owed an apology for the mistake and up until this point I had not received one from her. If your employees expect to be treated with respect, they should show that respect to their customers. I was told to come back with my receipt and I would be given a refund. I did this and then she refused to give me said refund?!?! No. That is not acceptable. That is theft. At this time I asked for the general manager. He was much nicer and issued a partial refund for the items that were missing. I am partially satisfied with this outcome. I was greatly inconvenienced by this whole transaction. I SHOULD have been refunded for my entire order as compensation for the time out my day and gas it took me to come back. Furthermore, as a business owner, I would want to know when my employees treat customers poorly. Is this your store policy to allow managers to treat paying customers like this? I don't care if I am a customer as McDonald's or a 5 star restaurant. I expect employees to be respectful. Your employee, whom is the manager on duty was rude, indignant, and non apologetic for my trouble and her mistake. This is unacceptable. read more

So this is my 2nd time coming to this location. Both times, with the kids. So that being said, this review will be on the service and play land. -Food was typical Mcdonalds. I wanted the McRib, they said they didn't have it. Yet they gave us cups that said "McRib is back!", that was a little disappointing. -Asked for NO Tomatoes on my sandwich... got a tomato The kids loved their food. As always we made them eat first before they played. The playland was freezing. I understand the kids don't care. but it was very cold inside, especially for the parents sitting watching the kids. I would suggest having someone sanitize or spray the place down with lysol during flu season, as we saw kids wipe boogies on the playland. (yummy) What matters is the kids enjoyed it and burn some energy for an hour. read more

Will not return and DO NOT RECOMMEND. I drive by this place everyday and today in the need of picking up some breakfast decided to stop by. Sandwiches had an odd taste, one tasted like (and I swear I cannot make this up) how the bathrooms smell in a McDonald's (YOU KNOW what I'm talking about). The second one just tasted so terrible I can't even try to think of what it reminded me of. Coffee and hash browns thankfully had their general taste. This McDonald's is always slow when going through the drive thru no matter what time of day. It never seems like they have anything ready.
