I'm not a huge fan of McDonald's, but today I had the best experience I have ever had at any fast-food restaurant. I stopped in with my grandchildren on the way back from the beach. I asked if they could make a grilled cheese sandwich (toasted bun turned inside out with two slices of cheese in the middle, no meat) and the manager, Corey, not only agreed but she went into the kitchen and made it herself! Then she proudly brought it to our table and asked me to make sure that I approved. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we had the right condiments, and they even made sure my grandson got the special toy he wanted. It wasn't just us. The manager went around to all the tables and asked it everything was good. I've never seen anything like it before. I never in my life imagined that I would write a glowing review about a dining experience at McDonalds, but here we are! It was exceptional in every way! read more

I was just in for lunch with my little son and I think that they are definitely making a huge improvement on management and how things are being run. The staff here that makes the food and brings you. Your food is very efficient. They are courteous, polite and the dining room is spotless and tidy. Bathrooms are clean and they are just overall doing an amazing job on service and how they serve their customers. My kids love coming here and this is our 3rd time sitting inside, we usually grab in drive thru! read more

HORRENDOUS I've been there twice and the order was wrong twice I asked for ketchup and checked bag no ketchup for two large fries she comes back and hands me one pack ??!! This was the Marinello family owned location. So I get home and discover they gave me the plain burger I ordered with ketchup pickles salt and pepper and onions?! Seriously? I called and asked for manager he said I'm manager. I asked his name he said I'm not giving you my name?!!!!! What? Why? I told him the issues of both times and asked him to address it he said his employees make mistakes they are human! I said you need to talk to them you need to ask the girl in the window scratching at her neck with two inch nails to wear gloves he said they are allowed to have long nails and they are not required to wear gloves! The service at lunch time is horrible special order upset McDonalds workers twice in two weeks I asked for extra mac sauce on my big mac and received a pound of sauce on every bun when you pick up the burger everything slides off the bun . I called the manager about this the second time she tried to defend the worker saying you can't control the amount that will come out when you hit the trigger I told the manager if to much came out on the bun why put it on all three buns just one bun is fine this was a worker that found it funny to load up the burger and it happened twice in two weeks and hey McDonalds a tip Napkins would be nice with the meal do you tell your employees not to give them out . Stopped here Saturday afternoon on my way home from Sandy Hook with the kids.... ordered medium unsweetened ice tea with lemon.... driving home I had a hard time getting the ice tea through the straw so I assumed it was a lemon that kept getting I'm stuck on the bottom of the straw.... when I got home I open it up to see and I found a small plastic bag floating in my cup with the rest of the iced tea and lemons.... never again!! read more

Just had something funny happen at this location. My wife and I went through the drive-thru to get a couple vanilla cones. The girl popped out of window #2 and she handed my wife some napkins then, as she was handing her the cones said in an apologetic tone "Sorry, they're kinda skimpy. I didn't make them." She was very polite about it. At first we didn't think anything of it but then it hit me. McDonald's is all about consistency. The two skimpy cones (they were the size of kiddie cones) should've never made it to the window in the first place. This shows a lack of managerial oversight and training that McDonald's is famous for. Noone has ever confused McDonald's for fine dining but If you can't count on them to be consistent, what's the point? I've spent more typing this than it took to order and get the cones so....end of rant. read more

I get a coffee every morning during the week at 6am. all the workers are very good. the coffee is made right and fast- they are also respectful of my time. Three weeks ago they hired a new guy to work the drive through window and now I wait at least 15 minutes in the drive threw lane when no one else is there. Today this new employee didnt even turn the mcdonalds light on around the building. This guy does not want to work and he is rubbing off on the other workers-all of which are great hardworking, respectful people. This guy is a passive/aggressive con to be frank! read more

Visit after visit they continue to give you the wrong order and charge you for the higher price.They continue to give you no napkins with your food.This is all at the drive up and via mobile ordering. It's a McDonald's. What can you say about it? The food is fast food so don't expect anything but that. The service is by a bunch of 15-18 year olds. It is a good convenient location and the hours are good (it's open late). I prefer to not eat fast food but hey, maybe it's for you. read more

I went to this McDonalds location this morning and paid with a $20. Bill. I was given back change for $10. After complaining, the Manager told me to get my food, they would count the register and come over. After about 10 minutes, she came over and asked if I was sure. I showed her my wallet, explained I had recently went to the cash machine and only had twentie a few singles and a 2 dollar bill. I was sure because I looked at it to make sure I didn't give away my 2 dollar bill that I wanted to save. I told her I would not do complain if I wasn't so sure. She went away and came back in about another 10 minutes to say there was nothing they could do, took my phone number and said she would call me after she counts again, after her break. I asked if she taught her people to put the money on the side until after they give change to confirm. She said he was supposed to. I told her I was complaining to corporate and I am. This is the best McDonald's in the area. It is clean, normally well staffed with very pleasant people and a managerial staff that cares. I have not had any issues with drive thru. This location is so much better than the Route 36 Cliffwood ave McDonald's Cliffwood Beach. There no one cared and they couldn't get an order correct but I always attributed that to the fact that barely no one spoke English. Keep up the GREAT work route 36 Union Beach McDonalds. I wish zero stars was an option. I stopped at this McDonald's for an iced coffee on my way home from vacation. Half way through drinking my coffee I sucked a clump of hair through the straw. As I immediately started gagging and knew that I was about to vomit, I had to pull over to the side of the Garden State Parkway to vomit.
