I must have read somewhere that this was the World's Largest McDonald's so I bookmarked it. We made a point to stop, only to find out pretty quickly that it isn't. I've been to hundreds of McDonalds over the years and this one is just average. Maybe the building itself is big, but they're not the exclusive vendor here, sharing the food court with a regular Subway, and honestly you could call the McDonald's in the Atlanta airport a bigger building without stretching the truth. We were driving from Tulsa to Joplin when we pulled off, parked and walked in. It does sit above the highway, which gives you a slightly different view while you're working through a cheeseburger and fries, almost like you're hovering over the traffic. I ordered at the kiosk and the food took longer than usual, but it was prepared properly. They have the standard Coke fountain stocked with straws and napkins, but no ketchup dispenser. The burger was made to order so it was fresh, which helped. Food on the floor, a dirty table and a light crowd summed up the rest of the experience. No need to go out of your way for this one. Strap them kids in, give 'em a little bit of vodka in a cherry coke, we're goin' to Oklahoma... This cool McDonald's location first came to my attention when I heard mention of it in the lyrics to the song Choctaw Bingo, by James McMurtry. That's the first line of the song I quoted above. It's a great song and references several spots up in the extreme northeast corner of Oklahoma, this McDonald's being the most famous. The lyrics mention "that big McDonalds, you know that one that's built up on that big old bridge across the Will Rogers turnpike..." Initially when heard the song I had no idea it was describing a real place. It sounded kinda far-fetched that someone built a McDonalds up on a bridge over a turnpike. When I learned that this McDonald's was a for real place, and at one time it was the largest McDonald's in the world, I knew I had to come here. My first visit was three years ago. It wasn't very busy that afternoon and I got a chance to speak with an Employee and her Manager, and they graciously shared with me their understanding of the history of the place. The title of largest McDonald's had slipped away long before they worked here. Summers fade and roses die. These days, in terms of size, this McDonald's is a mere shadow of its former self. It's quite underwhelming, actually. Especially if you climb the stairs as I did my first visit, thinking, wow, this place must be huge! Where its dining area once commanded the entire expanse of the Archway, the one time largest McDonald's now shares the space with a Subway. How humiliating; a freaking Subway. But whatever. What hasn't changed, and the reason I give this place Four Stars is the view from the dining room, poised directly over the Will Rogers Turnpike. I love watching traffic burning up the Turnpike while I'm having a snack. That's fun, and unique, and definitely worth checking out if you're anywhere in the vicinity. We usually pull over at McDonald's during road trips for a quick meal, but this stop was not a great experience. The stop has a few restrooms, but they were not very clean. The service was slow, even though it was not that busy during lunch. And the food was standard McD quality. Nothing special here, which was a little disappointing compared to what I remembered from my family during my youth. read more

The guy making the food tonight needs to be fired I seen my order was about to be ready and that he was starting to fold up my MCchickens and he got all pissy because I was watching so he stopped and tried to stare me down like he was going to do something and then goes back to making the MCchickens and slams them as hard as he can where they put the food in the bag and steps back and starts staring me down again so I threw my hand up waiting for him to say something since it was such a big deal for him. so it was all smashed when we got it. The other two guys where pretty chill but buddy really needs to get his stuff together if you don't like people glancing at you while making food in a building where it's all open might want to stay at the house and try putting on gloves and a hair net if you are going to be handling food. read more

this mcds overpass was once the "biggest" stretching across the highway overpass bridge - however, inside the cool glass/golden arches lays a very tiny mcds counter on the upper level. much of the space is scattered seating with some cool will rogers facts and displays. theres also some gift shop and souvenirs. we read online that yiu can buy cool vintage mcds items but we didnt see anything anywhere, maybe we missed it? not worth the stop unless you need to use the washrooms/rest your eyes. read more

If you are old like me you remember this as the Worlds largest McDonalds. It is still cool to experience the bridge restaurant which is now a Kum and Go/Maverik with a small McDonalds and Subway upstairs. I didn't expect much from the McDonalds. The dining room was trashed though the kitchen looked clean and they cooked to order so it took awhile but at least every thing was hot. read more

I walked up and said hello to the lady working the counter and she just looked at me with a an angry look and never said anything. I ordered and then received my food to go. Go to the car and the food was ice cold. I know it's McDonald's but this is one of the worst experiences I have had at any McDonald's. read more

I'm going to milk this review for all its worth, which is why the place is called MilkDonald's. It's pretty disgusting that your main food option if you get off (ahem) is McD's, here at the expensive toll plaza which you'll use, so that you don't have to actually pay the tolls getting off the highway... so you're getting expensive gas and you're getting McDonald's to eat. America shouldn't let these kinds of things happen. This particular McDonald's is not great and it's usually pretty busy because of all the Travelers and yet still somehow manages to give me lukewarm french fries, and bad service of course. read more

Used to be very buzy and spotlessly clean.Employees would rather stand around and play on there cell phones..No pride in yourself or your job. It doesn't cost much to be clean... Website says closed at 12am. We got there at 10:20, and it was a trip with about 12 people in line from our group. Hadn't had much food all day, so we were excited to go to the one of the "biggest McDonalds". Lady behind the cash register rudely declined us, saying that they were closing. Said, "I'm not taking all of your orders, because we're about to close." Told the group, and everyone was disappointed. Now what will we do? Yes the place has been going down hill for years, but this may have been our last stop. "Home" is in an eastern state and the Will Rogers Turnpike has been driven by us for nearly 40 years. (Daughter attended college in Mo. too!) I remember the heyday. The oasis was cool! And an hour out of Tulsa, it's always been the perfect first stop. Guess it can still be a potty stop. Other places (like Subway) have moved in now. Just don't order McDonalds. I ordered the bagel with bacon & strawberry jam. Our 2 paltry breakfast sandwiches were delivered in approximately 66 seconds. Mine was bacon, a slice of cold American cheese, a sorta cooked egg & another slice of cold American cheese, all between a day old bagel. My first bite was so salty I could barely chew it. I took the bacon off. I don't know what was wrong w/ it, but it sure didn't look right. A couple more small bites from the middle to settle my stomach. The same person who took our order delivered it. I only saw one packet of jam, so asked for another. She held up the unseen 2nd packet and said, "Really? You need another?" What is it with jam these days? Couple weeks ago Panera had NO strawberry jam. A McDonald in Tulsa (15th St I think) argued w/ my daughter about a second jam. "You only ordered one sandwich." Just shocked by how dirty it was. Floor looks like it hasn't seen a mop in days or weeks or longer...hard to tell it's just so dirty. Every patron was having to wipe down their own table and there weren't cleaning wipes provided anywhere. Trash cans almost overflowing. The bathrooms upstairs and downstairs were smelly and dirty. Such a shame there is a welcome to Oklahoma sign right outside and then this is how the state welcomes travelers, and there were lots of travelers passing through in the time I was there. Omg lol On our Route 66 journey from Chicago to Santa Monica, one of our pit stops was to the supposed "World's Largest McDonald's," so of course we had to stop by for at least some fries. Tell me why I was so underwhelmed by this experience: 1. You need to pay to enter the Turnpike in order to gain access to this spot. Da fuq? 2. It was hella small. Sure the novelty is that it's over a bridge but the McDonald's shares a space with a souvenir shop and Subways. So... how you gonna try and come at me with accolades like that? 3. Prices were so high! It felt like we were dining at an airport. We already paid to enter the Turnpike to see this spot. Oh geez... Never again McDonald's. My daughter was on a school field trip and stopped at this Mcdonald's location for lunch. She left her phone behind and did not realize it until their bus was more than an hour away. I got a panicked call from the vice principal that they were not able to turn around to retrieve it and were contacting the store to see if they found it. Within a few minutes of this phone call, I received the contact info for an employee at the location, Zach who had found the phone. Once I connected with Zach, he was incredibly helpful in guiding me through getting the phone returned back to us. He was able to text updates throughout the process of mailing the phone to us and was very friendly and professional. I offered to send him reward money but he politely declined. I wanted to reach out to ensure his employer knew what an incredible experience he provided during a stressful situation. He was kind, responsive, professional and went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. I hope that Zach is recognized for his effort as I feel this is a shining example of customer service. The updates to the McDonald's, Subway, Kum and Go were a pleasant changed as it has been years since I was here and was very appealing. However, about 15 minutes before our arrival a water line busted so there was no water and closed all four restrooms which was a nightmare with a couple kids. The service at Mcds was blah, and one lady was rude to potential customers explaining why drinks were limited because of no water. I understand from her point it was repetitive, but the customers did not know why it happened, they simply needed a restroom and food. Food was also not the best, buns were stale, and nothing was the normal warmth or melted cheeses. But hey I give them it was a bad day, but customer service is a must! read more

Not a lot of places where you can stand over a busy turnpike and grab a McDonald's burger and fries, but this is one. On my last trip (been here a few times), the crew was being trained and the line was long as a result. They must have been training in the kitchen as the food was not up to the standard McDonald's. I'll be back, mostly just because I like standing over the top of the turnpike. read more

I should have looked at the reviews. This seemed like an interesting stop though. The place was dirty. The gas station portion was clean but once you go up stairs though no F's are given. We should have listened and headed the signs when we saw how dirty it was but we ordered anyone because my daughter wanted a happy meal. The people in McDonald's were just as gross as the tables. I can't say I was too surprised when we all found hair in the food. Just don't do it trust your gut and read the signs. read more

Super-cool location ... its worth a visit just to watch the trucks pass beneath you. This is also a historic building (although completely modernized). It's been here since the turnpike opened! The food/service is standard McDonald's... I don't think the prices are higher than non-service area locations. read more

WHY?!?! well, sit down and let me tell you why. this micky's D is apparently the largest one in the whole world! yes. it beats the ones in china and russia! this mcdonalds seats about 400 people, but its the largest in terms of square ft. 29,135 sq ft!!!!!!!! just that fact alone is enough to give it 4 stars. it also overlooks the FWY. how cool is it to eat food and watch semi-trucks drive under you? well, lets move onto the food now. it was just meh at best. i believe this MCD is more expensive than other ones around the USA. and i would know that because i'm a MCD connoisseur. i ended up getting the mcrib and all its bbq sauce goodness. its good to have the elusive mcrib in my mouth again. their drinks machine has some funky tasting water... unless all water in OK taste like poison.??? lol. the heating and AC unit in this building has a mind of its own. its either too hot or too cold in different areas of the place. They were telling us that they are going to tear down the MCD and rebuild it to give it a more modern look with a working AC/Heating unit. This place really used to be something. When I was growing up it was must stop on any roadtrip along I-44. Unfortunately, I don't think this place has had any upkeep since those childhood road trips. It is dirty and in disrepair. The service is slow and poor. On my recent trips I've bought drinks from the small gas station located next to the McDonalds because the quality of the McDonalds drinks and the time it takes to get them make the gas station the superior option. I feel like with some love, attention, and an influx of cash this could return to a place where a stop was at least worthwhile, if not necessary. The building itself remains striking. Just left this place. Disgusting, gross and just straight up nasty. I only rated a 1star because I had or it would be negative 10. The whole place is so dirty I couldn't even eat my food.
