We did have a hiccup, spent 3 days & nights in the heat with no air after service due to AA Attendant they were not getting our messages (lady in office out sick) but, AA was saying they would be here between certain hours, someone would call us, etc. On day 3 my husband was there when the owner came in and he was completely unaware. He sent someone that day. I will say we are nice and cool now and it was just a random issue nothing serious, took 5 mins to fix. I would like to thank the Owner for being a true stand up business man and making it right for us as a consumer. His technician came both visits and was a very nice young man. Upon completion of my job the young men that did the work informed me that they could receive a small bonus from Koala Insulation (their company), if I gave them a satisfactory review. They both worked very hard in difficult circumstances and did what they promised to do. I would have happily given them a good rating, but the survey never showed up. When I called the home office, the clerk said that they (Koala has nothing to do with the survey) and there is no way for me to give the workers a rating. Sound to me like they are scamming their own employees to save a few busks. . . very few bucks. Any company that would cheat their employees would certainly cheat the customer. BUYER BEWARE!!

TIP: Check costs before you invite anyone out to work on your system(s). I found Primus's $85 trip charge to be somewhat reasonable. But the cost of Freon? Not so much. A quick check on eBay indicates these folks pay not more than $25 per pound of R22 for their Freon and then charge you the stated price of $100. When asked why, the smug response was .. "Well, that's capitalism." My response .. "Well, when you charge 4 times what something costs, that leaves the consumer feeling ripped off. So here's something else about capitalism you should know. People won't use you when they feel ripped off." My thoughts: There's just something not right about being told I should be happy about being ripped off simply because "That's capitalism". That would be why I concluded the call. I suppose the vendor subsequently decided our discussion wasn't over, so he immediately called back to lecture me, rather aggressively. I hung up. A few seconds later, he called again. I didn't answer. So in the end, the decision to not use Primus is more than justified by their absurdly expensive (in my opinion) Freon and their aggressive response to (pre)customer feedback.

This year he saved my house from burning down when I called him out to take a look when the damper was sticking. He discovered some damage that could have been deadly for us, saying we were extremely lucky that a fire hadn't started over the winter when I was using the stove daily. He worked with us to replace it and redo all of the surround. He went above and beyond to help us try to get the damage covered by insurance, writing two appeals letters. Poor customer service and lack of professionalism. We will never use this company again. It has…read morebeen over two years since we first advised Andy that our logs were not working properly after he installed them on 12/16/23. Countless phone calls and text messages. We even sent a video showing our logs woild not stay lit more than 30 seconds. The last time someone from Touch of Fire came to inspect the logs was the week of 1/5/26. Jeremy confirmed the burner was not working correctly and needed to be replaced. Per usual, we had to call them for an update. On 1/12/26 Tamara said they would file a warranty claim. After 2 years of the logs not coming on properly? We were told warranty claims take 4-6 weeks. Yet another 4-6 weeks we were going to have to wait. After pleading with them to expedite the repairs, Tamara told us on the phone that she was making the executive decision to order a new burner instead of waiting 4-6 weeks on a warranty claim. That didn't happen. We were told that the burner would be in "next Tuesday on the truck". Last time we heard from anyone about the burner was a text from Tamara on 1/19 saying "Need to ask a question about the burner you have." Not a word since that date.Keep in mind this "ghosting" was happening just ice storm and heavy snow that came back to back. It would have been very helpful for us to have working gas logs as there were record breaking cold temperatures during this time. Ironically, Andy sent a TEXT, not a phone call, this morning! Only after seeing a review my husband left yesterday about this HORRIBLE experience. It finally took us realizing they ARE NOT going to do what they have been saying for over 2 years they would do. Then Andy wants to make excuses in his text this morning. Factory closing due to weather. For 2 years? Andy: "We never ignore customers." For 2 years? "Did our best to provide updates." We called/text them 29 times without anyone answering any of our calls and texts. Andy brought up "safety is extremely important to them." Safety isn't the reason for the delay. He also said "we remain willing to complete the repair as soon as the manufacturer parts are available." As stated, we have attempted to reach them countless times with no response. We have lost all trust in their company. We tried to be more than patient and understanding while making countless attempts for a response. The issues were never resolved. Now we are done. We will find someone else to repair what they would not. It should not have been this way. A little bit of professionalism and communication can go a long way. We don't want anyone else to experience this type of poor customer service.

They show up on time, they answer their phones, they are quick to respond to emails and texts, and they don't try to add on any costs. Matt & Ben installed my new unit and worked very hard for 6 hours straight! They were polite, professional, and really seemed to care about getting everything exactly right. There was one small part they needed so they wouldn't take payment since the job wasn't 100% done. Chris came out on time and added the last piece and took payment at that time.
