It was our first day in Ireland and we needed some dinner. Of course, we wanted a pub. It was a Sunday evening and after striking out elsewhere, we landed at McHugh's.
I'm so glad we did!
McHugh's serves up elevated pub food in a warm and welcoming environment. We were able to be seated straight away.
To begin our experience here, my dining companion and I both ordered Guinness. For my main, I got the salmon. It was cooked to perfection and places atop a bed of creamy mashed potatoes with a drizzle of a buttery sauce and a spear of asparagus. It also had a couple of tasty croquettas (I believe that's what they were!) on the side. Everything about the dish was outstanding.
For dessert we got and shared the sticky toffee pudding (where have you been all my life?!?), which was rich, sweet, buttery goodness with both cream and ice cream on the side.
The service was friendly throughout.
