    Oysters

Many selections of seafood. I love buying oysters and crawfish here. They charge by quantity and provide a paper bag for you. Also you can find good deals on meat. Parking can be rough especially on a weeknight or weekend.

If you're looking for fresh seafood at unbeatable prices, McKee Seafood Market is a hidden gem! I called ahead to ask about live crawfish, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly over the phone. When I arrived, they had exactly what I needed fresh, live crawfish at a much cheaper price than any other market near my house. The store itself is small, but very clean and well-organized. Everything is easy to find, and they carry a great selection of fresh produce and seafood. You can tell they take pride in maintaining quality and good customer service. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area especially if you're planning a crawfish boil!

This rating is strictly regarding my most recent purchase here for the "live" oysters... First and foremost, the horrible stench this place exudes should have been a clear indication to refrain from making my purchases but the stench is unfortunately the norm when it comes to McKee Seafood Supermarket. I didn't really think twice. The seafood/shellfish department is jam packed with items that other supermarkets don't always carry, so I always gravitate here. That particular day, the oysters looked a bit question but I made sure to take my time and hand pick each one. I made sure to work around the majority of dead ones and only walked away with 11 pieces. In hindsight, I'm glad I settled with 11 because more money could have been wasted!! At $1.50 a pop, these aren't necessarily cheap. Fast forward to throwing these on the grill... The extra fishy smell was undeniable. My family kept questioning the strong, pungent scent but with the oysters still being closed shelled and then slowly opening as we cooked each piece on the grill, I had promising hopes. WELL I THOUGHT WRONG!!! The first oyster was good- it tasted how it should. The second one was putridly disgusting!! We immediately made the decision to throw them all out! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE "LIVE" OYSTERS HERE. Unless you like living life on the edge and enjoy gambling with food poison, McKee Supermarket is the right spot for you. Shame on you, MSS, for leaving this stuff out and continuing to sell bad, rotting items to patrons. How disgusting!!

What can I say we are suckers for any ethnic supermarket and McKee Seafood is no exception. Its a decent sized Asian grocery store with as the name suggests has extensive seafood offerings. Lots of live options and I have to say a ton of crayfish for those wanting to have a good old fashion Cajun boil. They also have an extensive fresh vegetable section. Prices are in line with other similar markets, and there is plenty of parking

    Crab prices 1/2/2022

Came to check the price on their crab and it's the cheapest I've found for live crab. $6.99/lb. They had some dead ones on ice for 4.99/lbs. store had long lines and the enter door only open for those coming in so I had to cut in front of some people in line just to get out. Will definitely come back for my fresh live crab. Great price for crab as well as a variety of other seafoods. Deducting stars for cleanliness as crowded lines that back into the aisle. Could be a potential issue getting out of the store in an emergency situation.

This is a little mom and pop Vietnamese supermarket off McKee and Jackson by the McDonald's. This market is just what you expected to be as a mom and pop Vietnamese market. Isles are not very wide, things are very packed. This is not the most cleaned market to be but definitely has one of the better deals in terms of seafood prices. I've only been to this place a few times to buy crab, every year they have one of the cheapest prices for fresh live ! This is probably the only times I come to shop for. Do not expect too much then you will not disappointed. Set your bar low.

    Fresh seafood great prices
    John H.

Live crawfish, soft shelled crab, etc at great prices. Plenty of parking Always lots of cash registers open. Free fresh fish cleaning and frying. Excellent overall service. This is not your Whole Foods ambience, but way better prices here than Whole Foods for sure.

McKee Seafood has been around for over 30 years -- I remember coming here as a child. This market offers all things meat, seafood, and fresh vegetables for your homecooked meals. If you're making an Asian dish like Banh Xeo, Pho, Cambodian Hot Pot, Spring Rolls, and everything in between -- you will find what you are looking for here. At the availablity of each season, you will also find competitive pricing on seafood. For example, we have found Live Dungeness Crab at $2.99 per pound -- those months are reserved for Crab Galore sessions. They're generally well stocked and a clean market to shop at. Love how they always carry tropical fruits like fresh Longan, Rambutan, and Durian. Easy place for a quick shopping run.

    Spider crab

Frozen Spider crab cheap!! (I think it's seasonal or when they are able to get em) Came around $40 a crab, not bad compare to king crab.make sure to not over cook it. The crab meat taste just like king crab you get at Costco. Good place to get crawfish too ,crawfish filled with brick(tomalley). My Togo place for seafood and crawfish. Usually they have it before any other Asian store.

It's a solid fresh seafood market with good selections. Their bag of oysters and Manila clams are priced well. Seabass here was also fresh and reasonably priced. The seafood section is busy during weekends. You will have to wait to get your seafood cleaned so have patience. They stock a good selection of Filipino products here, including Polvoron from Goldilocks. They also stock marungay, a Filipino vegetable. All in all, great Asian market. Cheers!

Sharing my recent visit to La Princesa, Friday April 17 2026…read more. I genuinely wanted to support this store, but what I witnessed has changed my perspective. I observed a clear case of cross-contamination between non-halal and halal meat handling. A staff member handled pork and then proceeded to serve halal meat using the same gloves, without changing them. The same worker also placed a bag of pork directly on the counter used for halal items. This is not a minor oversight--it reflects a serious lapse in basic halal food handling standards. I raised this with the manager, but unfortunately did not receive the level of assurance or accountability I expected, especially given the severity of the issue. Management needs to take this matter seriously, as it is deeply concerning to the Muslim community. The placement of non-halal meat in close proximity to halal meat should not be considered acceptable in the first place. Based on this experience, I'm giving a 1-star rating.

Instead, there's no seating area and the menu is just a large LCD screen listing sandwich names and prices with no photos. The store itself feels cramped, with most of the space dedicated to shelves rather than any place to relax or enjoy food. I was hoping for something closer to a Whole Foods style experience where you could grab a sandwich, a drink, and maybe meet friends. Instead, it feels like a typical Asian market without much innovation. The one cool touch was that every checkout lane had fresh baked baguettes ready to go. Price is pretty steep for something like this. The owner or person taking our order seemed like a confident or very straight forward / strong type personality, which I'm fine with because I naturally have a bit of a strong personality as well so it didn't bother me, although it would've been better if he smiled or something so it doesn't seem like he's coming off like a New Yorker. Just sayin. But I also know that he's simply doing his job so it's nothing personal. Anyhow, the food he talked a good game on it being the best in the Bay Area turned out to be quite mid IMPO. The shrimp was 100% overcooked, the side Mac salad was actually *not* good at all and it sucks because that's something I feel like you can't mess up but it was gross unfortunately, I spat it out even tho I hate wasting food. It just didn't taste freshly made whatsoever. The poke bowl wasn't comparable to Hawaii since he mentioned it's just as good... but honestly I think everyone's taste buds are different because to me, the poke bowl was totally mid, but it could taste really good to someone else and that's certainly OK! Also -- I like salty things esp when I crave for it but this was quite heavy on the salt, which made my experience the way it was. Even though it could've been better, I came with no expectations and just wanted to see what the fuss was about. That said, the only thing that was good was the rice cracker snack we bought and that's it. Glad I still gave this place a try, but personally for me, it's definitely my last visit. Maybe I'll come back at an earlier time to get one of their strawberry mochi but other than that, I think I'll rest my case here.
