This Asian market has fresh produce and wide selection of products. It's my parents' favorite grocery to do all their shopping. Mom likes the vegetables and fruit section and says the prices are good. I think the products also cater to Vietnamese/ Chinese customers. Whenever we go during the week days, it's not too crowded and you have room to go around with your cart. Also, let's talk about the smell of grocery stores...you know what I'm talking about. If it smells bad, you have a sense their cleanliness is an issue. This market doesn't smell bad, so that's a good sign. The lines queue up, but the cashiers are quick and they get you in and out. Beware of this Store! My mom went and made a purchased of $20 something worth of grocery. She received an alert from her bank that her card was charged twice: one for $20 something and another for $200 something from the store. When my mom went back and spoke to the store, they claimed that the $200 something is a holding charge and will disappear once the charge is no longer pending (which made no sense). They claimed they couldn't do anything about it since the charges were still pending. Guess what? Today, the charges went through for both the $20 and the fraudulent $200. We now have to file a dispute claim and file a fraud report against this store. Don't shop here, especially if you're paying via credit card!!! read more

This location seems bigger than the location on North Capitol. Maybe it's my eyes or the layout. I have been here a number of times because I am confident the prices are fairly cheaper than other places. I came here to do my recent big haul for Tet. I will say though that I don't like how ginger and shallots are offered in bulk, so I go to Lucky's or Safeway for them but I usually take care of everything in one place. Oh, I like to get my ground meat from Lucky's or Safeway or Walmart because of the fat content. I want to see the nutrition label as opposed to asking the gentlemen in the back to get me 2lbs, etc. w/o knowledge of how much fat is in it even if I choose "lean." Go early because parking is not easy and the store can be incredibly crowded. Lines aren't messy even though they can be long. I'm an easy customer and because I'm OCD, I load the items on the conveyer by categories and I inform the checker at the beginning that I would like to purchase bags - as many as needed but usually I eyeball it and tell them I need 5 bags, etc. I have made the following dishes from the groceries I purchased here: 1. pho 2. kimchi udon 3. canh dua 4. heo quay 5. pho xao bo 6. mi xao bo 7. thit dong 8. ca ri ga 9. bun rieu 10. banh gio I don't have any complaints. The store is phenomenal. The variety and options surpass any other Vietnamese grocery store I've been to!!! There are several aisles with so many choices of noodles, rice paper rolls, spices ingredients, sauces, cooking sauces, all kinds of things ... phew it's a lot! The one downside is there's not enough support wherein someone can clarify a certain packet or ingredient or label to you. I had to stop another customer and request for help in reading some ingredients. The aisles are packed. The produce section has a lot of variety. There could be a few more Billing counters. I recently purchased gizzards and two chickens from this store, only to discover that one of the chickens was past its expiration along with the gizzards. They smelled horrible! As shown in the picture, they simply placed a new label over the old one to hide the fact. After spending thousands of dollars here over time, this is unacceptable. If products are expired, they should be discarded not repackaged and sold. I don't understand why any business would risk losing loyal customers by selling spoiled meat. This is a solid Vietnamese marked in San Jose. It's a pretty large store with a great selection. It definitely has decent and reasonable prices compared to other markets. There's a wide selection of fruit, vegetables, and produce. I usually always love getting fruit since they have many varieties. Do not shop here. The owner is giving customers hard time when the customers bag the items in the small plastic bags. When checked out, they removed all plastic bags claiming that they are not allowed to give out those bags except for veggie items. Other markets do not behave like this market. This is the newest Vietnamese grocery store to come to San Jose as far as I know. They opened up where Michael's used to be, and I was surprised to see how much they could sell in their space. The parking out front is spacious, though I wish they had more spaces with shade because we had a heat wave coming through the city when I had gone. Not enough to keep me away though! I was tasked with buying some papaya and found what I needed almost right away. I wish there were more nice papayas since I bought what felt like the only non-bruised, mostly ripe papaya left. I proceeded to roam through the aisles to see what I could find and appreciated the variety of Vietnamese prepackaged or frozen foods available. The only thing stopping me from buying more is my limited fridge and freezer space. A new store is a fun change of pace here, and they have frozen foods that I haven't seen elsewhere. This new (as of Q3 in 2022) Vietnamese supermarket takes over an old Michael's crafts store and makes really good use of the space. It's located on a far end of Tully Rd., one of the main streets where the Vietnamese community is, so it's a nice addition to folks in the area who don't want to drive into the heart of the Vietnamese area. I grew up going to Asian supermarkets and have great affection for the cramped aisles and the smells (odors?) that non-Asians aren't accustomed to. This market has wide aisles (by Asian market standards) and no over-powering seafood smells. The thing that most impressed me about this place was the labeling of their produce. They have hand-written signs for everything, in both English and Vietnamese. As a lifelong Vietnamese speaker, even I felt like I was learning something because they drill down and are very specific on the names of the different produce items. I always call peaches "đào", but looking at the signs I finally learned (in my mid-30s) the Vietnamese distinction between white peaches and nectarines! This is a clean market with good services. Their produce selection is great but their selection of packaged Vietnamese foodstuffs is a bit lacking -- most if their rice, noodles, or other dry goods seem to come from only two or three brands -- but they do have everything you'd think to look for in an Asian market. (No alcohol though). Worth checking out. Worth supporting. read more

This place is not your typical hand end supermarket, instead, it's more like storage or one of those whole sale places. It's got what you need for at lower prices than some other chain Asian supermarkets. It's not decorated at all. They have variety of produces just like other Asian markets but I can tell the prices are lower. They have seafood and poultry at the counter along with some other Asian delicacies. I found that they have an abundance of dried food, such as noodles and seasoning stuff plus boba making ingredients but I'm bulk. Not a bad option for big families. read more

Prices are reasonable and shelves are very organized. Produce used to be very fresh when they first opened but now the quality has kind of gone downhill. Some things also aren't priced on the shelves, which I thought was going to be a temporary thing when they first opened about a year ago. Recently they've hired new employees who are Hispanic in the fish and meat departments. I don't think they have any experience and speak little to no English so they aren't able to take direction or requests well. My mom and I were there yesterday to buy a fish for a special dinner and specifically asked the employee there in simple terms to "clean the inside" (gut the fish) and "take scales off." We pointed at everything. He ended up chopping off all the fins and tail, when we wanted the fish as a whole for presentation. The way everything was chopped was also very jagged and messy, which is why I think they hire people with no experience for cheap labor. read more

They used to be organized and did things accurately. Lately they have been cutting corners and cheating customers with their low quality meat and meat butchers. They hire meat cutters but don't train them to cut meat properly. I ordered one block of uncut Korean bbq short ribs and the non asian guy cut it so it came out looking like all bone scraps. Two pieces of the ribs had big lopsided balls of meat dangling from the ends. The rest of the ribs has just a little meat on them but were basically coming off the bones already but didn't completely fall off. I'm convinced I paid $31 for scraps that they got from giving the full good ribs to other customers and I got their leftovers. Going to grill it tomorrow for Christmas and will add pictures of what I got from this supermarket. I paid an extra $2.99 for the marinade so the flavor is going to be good at least, even for the low quality short ribs I bought and was ripped off. read more

I bought pork belly there and they don't support meat cut service even one of them told me you can cut meat over there. Pretty weird, if no such service, why they say I can get cut there. if they have such service, why they don't give it to me? just because I speak English but not Vietnamese????? if next time I still meet this situation, I will tell all others about this. read more

I am glad they opened a store on Tully Road which is convenient for the Vietnamese community.Definitely recommend it for everyone to the new chain. It's a newly open supermarket and is pretty clean. I used to get my instant coffee supply here. On my last visit they were out so a few days later I called to confirm that they have it in-stock. They confirmed so I came in. They didn't have it. The owner denied that they actually carry it that brand (Oldtown white coffee) and told me I must have called another store. I showed them my phone with their own number I called earlier. This supermarket is old-school with really bad customer service. I was trying to get the attention of a person at the front-counter for the coffee but she ignored me. It looks like this family recently acquired this supermarket as a business and staffed it with family members but they seem to have no concepts of greeting customers or servicing customers, let alone satisfying customers. Worst grocery store you can go to. I bought 2 bags of Rasputin fruits . Both bags were rotten. I can't believe the health department haven't been to this place yet . Selling garbage to customers . Never ever ever going back. They deserve zero stars for selling rotten food to customers.
