I finally got a chance to check out Lee's Supermarket. The parking is plentiful in this strip mall. A clean store with their sandwich shop inside their market. Though, they have no area to sit down. They have good prices on some of their produce and other things. I also like that the prices are bold. LOL. NOTE: They do no allow photos!!! While I was shopping and taking pics of ingredients for a particular recipe I was going to make. An elderly gentlemen approached me and asked, "Why are you taking photos?" I answered, "Oh, I am going to write a review." He looked puzzled, then replied, "We don't allow photos!" Oh, ok this person is on staff at the market. Alright. I am not deterred. After years of construction, I was excited to finally check out Lee's Supermarket in San Jose, but the experience was pretty lackluster. Honestly, it didn't feel like a newly remodeled store. It felt more like they just put up a new sign outside. They might as well have had a banner that said "under new management." Lee's is known for their great sandwiches, so I expected more of a café-style setup where you could browse a variety of sandwiches and maybe sit down to eat. Instead, there's no seating area and the menu is just a large LCD screen listing sandwich names and prices with no photos. The store itself feels cramped, with most of the space dedicated to shelves rather than any place to relax or enjoy food. I was hoping for something closer to a Whole Foods style experience where you could grab a sandwich, a drink, and maybe meet friends. Instead, it feels like a typical Asian market without much innovation. The one cool touch was that every checkout lane had fresh baked baguettes ready to go. That and my sandwich was delicious but instead of eating it right than and there I had to drive home in traffic and eat it cold. I just love eating em' freshly made and the bread right out of the oven. For sandwiches, I'll probably stick to the regular Lee's Sandwich locations nearby. read more

I took my mom to check out Lee's Supermarket for the first time as we always passed by it on our way to Great Mall and never had a chance to visit and we finally made it today. This Vietnamese grocery store is nice and clean. Reasonable prices for Asian vegetables. There is also Lee's Sandwich that's inside the store that you can order sandwiches from 9-5pm and closed on Tuesdays. I end up buying desserts which they had it at the cash register selling three for $10, I decided to try it. Not bad at all. Don't know what the desserts are called, but it was not too sweet which I like and overall I would buy the desserts again. Service was not bad. Overall, my mom and I would come back again. read more

This store all their staffs are so means to the customers and especially the security guy. At first I was thinking get one item than leave. Somehow I end up got several items and using their basket. I know I am not suppose to take the basket outside the door. But I told the security guy that I will get the shopping car to transfer all my stuffs. Beside i haven't walk to the parking lot yet, just right outside their door to grab the shopping car. Also I has problems of knee walking and with carry all my items. Suddenly that guy was so angry and said no no. Also he was grabbing my basket and throw it behind him where he stand inside the door. Damn it! I am not a thief, I already paid the stuffs. At least he has to say politely to customer that you can't push the basket outside the door. Guess he doesn't speak English, all he says no no really loud. Since I am a fan of Lee's sandwiches, I was looking forward to the opening of this new supermarket from the Lee's sandwiches franchise. After checking out the supermarket recently unfortunately I left disappointed. We arrived on a Sunday late afternoon. The supermarket is located in an older Asian plaza off Capitol Avenue in Milpitas close to Great Mall. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot. Once you walk in Lee's Supermarket, it looks just like all the other Asian markets. A fruit and vegetable section was to the right. There was a fresh seafood area to the back left. The hanging aisles signs were blank so you could not tell what products are on each aisle. Also the Lee's Sandwiches shop located inside the market was closed. The staff was friendly. Overall our experience was ok at Lee's Supermarket. We were also hoping to purchase some Filipino food and Filipino seasoning packets but they were very limited in stock. Not sure if we will be back as other Asian stores in the San Jose area have more items that we prefer. read more

This location was recently opened. Not all departments are open at this time. The deli department was the reason I stopped by but they were not ready for business yet. Lots of fresh Asian fruit and veggies. Prices are reasonable from what I briefly see. I will definitely come back in a couple of months or so when the deli department is in business! read more

I was inside the new Lee's Supermarket on E Capitol Ave. in San Jose two months ago during soft opening. It's inside the old ghetto looking Northwood plaza where Colosseum Pizza and Asiana restaurant is located. Parking lot is usually rough and busy. I went inside to check them out again and they just added more grocery inventories, but the shelves are still a bit more than half filled with lots of work to do. Not bad of a set up. Yes, they have a Lee's Sandwiches counter area inside too, but it's not fully operated yet. You can still find desserts/sandwiches/buns/beverages available right now, but pay at the main cashier grocery lines. Place feels spacious and clean right now. Aisles are a bit too narrow to walk around in the center. Lots of decent fruits & vegetables here. Seafood/meat section is still being worked on/empty near the fish tanks. For people who do grocery shopping regularly, this spot is convenient and most cooking ingredients are decent/inexpensive in prices compared to others. Dessert ingredients and coffee bags are expensive here. Red meats are fairly priced. Vegetables are not bad either. Depends on what you might be looking for. It's currently buy 2 get 1 free for mini Banh Mi sandwiches/baguettes and those special dessert beverages. Vietnamese staffs were nice employees dealing with grocery lines and speaks English. There's also a security guard at front checking bags & receipts as needed. Typical Lee's Supermarket operations. It's mainly Chinese and Vietnamese customers or locals shopping here. This location is also convenient if you're in Milpitas or near Milpitas BART area. Walkable to restaurants across the streets. I filled my grocery bag with $50 worth of groceries. Not bad. Cherries and red apples are so fresh! Saw lychee and mangosteen fruits too. Purchased some chicken thighs & chicken drumsticks along with bag of shrimp and other cooking sauces. Looking forward to full opening and more inventories whenever that may be. I only saw a few Google reviews, but no Yelp page or phone number. No advertisements yet. Pretty low key style business operations for now and not too many people during weekday mornings. Manager is still busy working the store. Overall, it's a decent stop for groceries here. Definitely go out and look around. No need to drive to Senter Rd. in San Jose to Lee's Supermarket if this store works out fine too. More options. read more

I actually really like this supermarket but the owner is very angry and mean. We usually like to park in the supermarket parking lot, grab some dim sum from across the street and then shop at the market after but today- the owner chased after us after we parked- screaming and threatening to tow our car. It was a jarring and frankly distressing experience to be the recipient of such vitriol especially because we had our young children with us. I get the owner likely has issues with Pho Kim Long customers parking in his parking lot and taking up space but it's just not efficient and just plain bad publicity for his market for him to personally police every car that comes by and threaten people. Does it not occur to him that there is a cross section of customers who like to eat and grocery shop afterwards? This is a hard review for me to write especially because I actually shop here every week and have spent thousands here since they opened in late May/early June. Their employees are nice and produce is genuinely good. I was waiting for this grocery store to open for years and was a happy customer with Lees but now...he treated my family like scum of the earth...I don't know if I can shop here again unless they do something to rectify this behavior. I Came to Shop. I Left Shaken. New Market was supposed to be a peaceful stop to pick up groceries -- fresh vegetables, a few staples -- nothing unusual. Instead, I left feeling watched, followed, and terrified. I first noticed him in the vegetable aisle. Every time I looked up, he was there. Not shopping. Just standing in front of my cart, staring. I tried to ignore it, pushing through my list. But then he approached me from behind and asked, in Vietnamese, "Where are the plastic bags?" "Mấy cái bọc ở đâu " Against and Against... I didn't respond. I acted like I didn't understand and quickly moved away. But he followed. Every aisle I entered, every box I paused at -- he did too. I took out my phone and started recording. You can see him looking down in the video -- avoiding eye contact, but still lingering. Desperate to get away, I left the veggie section and headed to the meat area. I didn't even have time to breathe before he reappeared. Still empty-handed. Still not shopping. Just scanning the area like he was searching for something -- or someone. I rushed to the entrance and told the security guard. "There's a man following me," I said, pointing directly to him. The guard does not understanding much while I tried to explained the situation to him..then he looked at me responding " I don't know," he muttered. "Go talk to the boss." Then he went back to checking receipts. That moment crushed me. No help. No action. No safety. I headed to checkout, hoping it was over -- only to see the stalker outside in the parking lot, watching the entrance. I froze. Then a kind stranger noticed happened while I was talking to the guard. He approached. I told him everything and asked him to keep an eye on me while I walked to my car. He stayed with me. He didn't have to, but he did -- and that gesture meant everything. I came to shop. I left shaking. This store has good produce. But no matter how fresh the food is, it means nothing if customers aren't safe. Management, take this seriously. Protect us. The cashier charged the wrong item and amount. I did not purchase coconut juice, i did not pay attention at the receipt, went home and found out they charged it wrong. Could not find the store phone# anywhere. So disappointed. Updated: i went to the store and was able to get the refund. read more

I would give this place a 0 if there was an option, Please be aware regarding Lee's Supermarket. I would like to share a concern, as this store may be engaging in fraudulent charges. A relative was charged for an item that they did not purchase, and the item charged was confirmed to be something the store does not even carry. When they went to the store to request a refund, they were asked to bring back all the items they had purchased so the charge could be confirmed. Despite this, the store refused to return the money. Additionally, the relative repeatedly asked to speak with a manager, but the cashier refused. They also refused to check the security cameras to confirm that the item was not purchased. This is not the first time this has happened. Several customers have experienced similar issues. Please be careful when shopping there. read more

I was at Lee supermarket couple days ago. The market was messy, even though it wasn't busy. I bought 2 fish from the seafood area. Be careful with their seafood... the fish wasn't fresh and I trashed them since they smelled so bad. BE CAREFUL with the fish and shellfish they have. read more

Earlier today, my mom had a horrible experience shopping here. A cashier named Chi Nguyen was rude and raised her voice at my mom. My mom was arranging the items in her shopping cart while in line and the cashier skipped her. When the lady behind my mom told Chi Nguyen that my mom was first, she did not apologize. I hope management would correct this behavior and train their employees better or they will continue to lose customers. read more

Green tea cake is very good (made in Japan). 好吃 some other seafood, vegetables, fruit, etc.can be bought next time. Took 15 min to scan whole store.
