This place has canned soursop -- I was looking to recreate a smoothie that I had had at the Vitality Bowls location in Los Gatos. Soursop is not an easy fruit to get. I was even more pleased to find out that their canned soursop has no nasty preservatives or other ingredients. It's just water, soursop and sugar! It made the perfect base for the smoothie that I blended up. I did ultimately find canned soursop at another Vietnamese supermarket much closer to me as well, so I don't think I would return, but it's for sure a solid place with ample customer parking. Would recommend if you are an SJ local looking for some specialty foods that are harder to find at other places! read more

A convenient location near me. They have a decent but not great seafood department. Vegetables and fruits are okay but not great. The store does have a decent selection of Vietnamese condiments and home goods. I purchased a mortar and pestle, the pestle immediately fell apart! I was so disappointed to say the least. This was a neat find in downtown SJ. I needed to grab something quick while I was already on 1st Str and this supermarket was on 10th str. The only thing I would say to be cautious about is the navigation telling you to make a left turn onto their parking lot where you are coming from Keyes str, remember that 10th str is a 1 way str, so you must pass the red light, go down, make a u-turn back and make a right to enter their parking lot. They have everything I needed in terms of Vietnamese vegetables, herbs and even grind up meat that I wanted. They had escargot and frozen banana leaves. It's a great little Vietnamese supermarket. I love this market, though it might smell a little funny, once you get past that and the rude staff, you might like it too. I can always count on them for stuff I need, like Rico soda, sweet basil seeds, jelly for my teas and coffee, etc etc. They also have better prices on some produce (specifically the mushrooms and greens like lettuce cabbage and chives) than other stores. If I'm in the area I will swing by, it's an easy quick exit off the 280. Oh you can also get one of those amazing brooms that sweeps stuff better than literally any other broom you find at American markets for under $10. read more

Road was super busy and had to flip a U-turn to go into the right entrance to smallish parking lot. Went during the week so can't imagine how busy the lot might get on the weekend. I was looking for star apple and cherimoya and custard apple and they have both cherimoya and star apple. The grocery is clean and it's organized. Staff were able to answer questions. They are friendly. It's worth the drive from West San Jose. read more

Quickie update: they've totally renovated this place and cleaned up both the exterior and interior. It now no longer smells like a unkempt fish tank but like a normal grocery store. Prices are fairly inexpensive (i.e., SoP for Asian grocery stores) from what I saw, and the cashiers are even somewhat friendly. The only drawback is it's so small that their selection is quite limited and nowhere near as complete as some of the bigger stores nearby. Parking lot is still a giant PiTa but otherwise it's not a bad spot to grab some Asian goodies. read more

So happy to find a Chinese market that sells incense because Mom is visiting and she wanted to do some praying at home. There is a tight parking lot which takes some time to maneuver but it's free. Fresh fish and produce. This is a very good option other than the usual ranch 99 in the area for everything Asian and desserts. It's also a bit cheaper than ranch 99. read more

I've stopped by twice this week as we are throwing a birthday party this weekend. Love their selection of goods. Super easy to pick up everything you need for a homecooked Asian inspired dish. They have all the right sauces, dips, herbs, spices, fresh produce, and meat selection. For large parties, you can request for meat by the "bag" and it's less than what's displayed at the meat counter. For example, a slab of beef was listed as $4.99 per pound but when we asked for the "bag" -- it was $3.80 per pound. Also, 40 pounds of chicken wings for $48 -- definitely a great deal. The vegetables are individually bagged and all stored in a refrigerator. The store is under construction (September 2019) and judging from all the hammering and drilling I heard, they will likely be under construction for another 6 months or so. But, they are open for business. Stop by for your grocery needs. Almost guaranteed to leave with something your kitchen needs. read more

I haven't been to this supermarket in years and I was surprised about how much it changed when I stopped by last week. It was SO CLEAN! By one of the cleanest Asian supermarket I've been to in a long time. If you look at the photos I posted, their fish tank in the seafood section is spotless. The meat looks super fresh too and they have a huge variety of fresh noodles and ice cream too. I'll definitely will come back to do my Asian grocery shopping haul soon. read more

I had Tess for the entire week and what she asked for was for me to make huu tieu bo kho. I came here during my lunch and was surprised by how small it was, yet it carried everything I needed. Since it was my fist time there I had to ask for the whereabouts of certain items. The ladies ringing people up were so nice and warm... Prices are fair, less than 99 Ranch Market for sure. I came by just because I needed kaffir lime leaves and Thien Thanh was the only place in South Bay that I could find them (I'd looked at Ranch 99, Dai Thanh, Hankook - none). A ginormous bag of them that will last me about a year (kept in my freezer) was $3.99. I didn't look for anything else, so I can't comment, but I would definitely come back here if I needed to shop for Southeast Asian goods. Prices I think are pretty decent. TL;DR - Great prices in their seafood section Surprisingly large, clean Asian supermarket! The market is new and has been remodeled. The selection is really good and very fresh. I noticed they have a good selection of frozen goods, they have tons of tools, pots, and pans. They have lots of noodles, and you can try individual noodles too. Their seafood section was my mom's favorite. We found blood clams for $4.99/pound, periwinkle snails, clams, and other seafood for a reasonable price. I definitely recommend trying this place out. I'm not sure how Long this estabLishment has been open but I recaLL making trips with my parents when I was a kid. It stILL Looks and feeLs the same: fishy aroma and dingy store front| saLes fLoor. That being said, the prices here are Low. Fresh vegetabLes, fruits, and meats are cheaper than other Locations in San Jose which guarantees future returns. This was a pleasant find while driving in the area. We stopped by specifically to check out their produce, but ended up browsing the entire store and getting a few other things. First of all, produce selection is pretty strong, and they carry jackfruit, durian, lychee, etc., which is good to know! Their vietnamese coffee selection is strong too, so we stocked up on some to make at home along with a few other pre-made stuff from Lee's. Snack and frozen food game is strong. They have a bunch of those boba ice cream bars and more, but we didn't grab any cuz we had more errands to run and didn't want them to melt. Meat section looked aight--prices were all really good tho. Store was clean and everyone was following safety measures, so big props to them for that. We're definitely coming back for that boba ice cream. read more

This is a new market within the past couple years. Their Swiss roll is really good, their papaya salad is also delicious. The people were nice. Only problem was their drive in. May be I got wrong items, but 2 small bags of groceries cost like 60 dollars now. Please check them out for small business. Btw, make sure able to keep your receipt some how, couldn't find my receipt when I got home. read more

Love the new remodeled supermarket! My favorite place for fresh produce, fish and authentic Asian ingredients. I came recently for fresh lobster, boba ice cream and jackfruit.
