Art area always has something you create and take

I love the intimate size of the McKenna that if you have a group of kids, you can sit centrally and see all the main area of play so that you don't all have to be in one area at a time. Sons favorite are the star tunnel and the outdoor water play. This time my 5 month old enjoyed stretching in the tot zone. We took home three art creations from our time in the art zone. Pro tip- do this section at the end so you can walk right out the doors

Went for my niece's 2nd birthday, she LOVED it! Definitely for more older kids, she just ran around a bunch but I think its a great place to bring out a child's imagination.

This is great for 10 and under children. The building is easily marked with plenty of parking out front. They have a space shift to walk through, an arts and craft room, bat cave, play grocery store, mini indoor playground, live fish, water play outside, playground outside, gift shop and a cafe. My kids enjoyed growing up and exploring the different centers. The arts and crafts and space center had been a kid's favorite. I do wish they would add on centers for older kids like the is San Antonio Doseum. The water play outside is great during the hot summer months. There is also a canopy above to stay shaded. The price for admission is fair and there are many items to pick from the gift shop as a souvenir. After playing all day there is a cafe at the other end of the museum to buy a drink or quick snack. It wasn't busy the days we went and would highly recommend it if your children are age 10 and below.

This is such an exciting place to take the kids on a warm sunny day. I had a great time bringing the kids here because there was so much to do and many kids can interact with each other. Parking is open and the place is very large. They even have a restaurant in the museum! Purchase your tickets online and Adults and children under the age of 11 months cost $7.50. It would be nice if adults didn't have to pay since this is a museum that 100% for kids. Overall it's wonderful!! There are numerous stations such as a grocery store, spaceship, coloring and painting room, kitchen, a hospital, campfire theme space indoors. Then outdoors had water activities and many climbing stations as well. We were there for 3 hours and the kids and I had too much fun! This is the place for bday parties for kids ages 3-7 in my opinion. If I'm ever in the area with kids I'd take them here! Great museum and experience!!

Such a wonderful place for kids. Smaller than I expected but the perfect size for kids under 5. I did see older kids there, however, I have a little under 2 so that's my limited perspective. Our little was a tad too short still for some things like the grocery store but still enjoyed walking around. The kitchen, ER center, NASA space section, and the air tubes were a hit. They did a cute 'Toddler Tuesday' event where the littles made bunny bait. Mine focused on eating it all but hey, whatever makes them happy. The space walk is pitch black so beware if any littles are grappling with the dark, but a very cool experience. The campfire area is adorable and the outdoor play is a nice touch with a massive water table. Having a Tot spot was great, tough when kids over 3 enter but most parents are on top of their kids there. Our little had a blast at every turn, mainly wanting to play in the little kitchen/house corner. There were two field trips so it was more crowded than normal for a Tuesday morning but to be expected. Once those kids cleared out it was so nice to have it all to ourselves. We definitely want to go back, not sure if the adults had more fun or the kid but willing to reevaluate with another trip. No discounts on tickets for any age, no senior discounts for grandparents. I believe littles under 1 are free. Really a great deal at $8 pp.

My kids always have a blast here!! It's only one floor, not too big, but packed with a lot of fun activities to keep the kids busy for at least 2 hours! I like that it's not too big so your kids can't wander off too far. The have a cute little coffee shop and a great gift shop with some nice toys. A little pricey, but I suppose I expect that. If you have kids and are looking for something fun to do in this area, head here!!

This place is brilliant! Only $7 to enter for kids and adults and it's such a good time. You can come and go within a day, cafe and bathrooms on site. The staff is all very helpful, loves children, and does a great job keeping eyes on all the kiddies. Good for up to age, maybe 8? But I had fun and I am in my 30s. Haha. There are different sections of interactive children's activities. Water play area, building blocks, rock climbing wall, playground, house, grocery, bank, train sets, ranch, campfire, spaceship, medical area, bat cave, art area, and air stream room. They can play dress up, shop at the grocery store w carts, get money from the bank, do an astronauts walk, check up on friend at the doctors, and climb and run and play! Each room is well decorated, clean, lots of toys and materials to play with, and hours of fun.

You can probably guess that we upgraded to the family of 4 year pass ($180, but used our day pass cost to include into that membership). Thinking ahead here, when it will get stupid hot later in the summer time, great way to take the kids to burn their energy and not get stir house crazy being inside all day - great way to break up the day from all the screaming and jumping around. The exhibits: wow, SO much variety! It's basically 2 stories, downstairs is the main floor area, and options! When you first enter, there's giant toy puzzles shaped as gears, then another room that takes you to a full on pretend city arena where there's little tykes cars for these kids to drive around in this pretend city, a HEB store front, airplane simulation, trolley, car wash, vet office, etc. so fun for these kids! Then another room where there's instruments like a giant piano and other fun things for kids to explore. Outside, there are 2 areas, one is a bubble play area to explore ways to play with bubbles in SO many different ways. Another outside area, playground with a giant slide, water play area with boats and things that you can imagine with water. For over stimulated kiddos, there's a room downstairs that's called a "calming room" where it's much quieter than out in the open if you need time to decompress from the chaos. Upstairs, there's a pretend to play with tools and right next to it and where you can assemble flowers. Now food wise, there's a Café Bakery Lorraine downstairs which include their macaroons, sandwiches, snack platter, crossiants, etc. It's a little pricey, but at least it's good! You are allowed to bring snacks, water inside, but not outside food like actual meals. Parking: it's free and first come first served out in the front area. Overall, we'll be back since we're now members! Excited to keep taking the kids here as there is so much to do here!

Luckily the weather was in the 70s which was really nice for a January day. We drove up and parked easily. We then went to pay the rate for 4 adults, got our clubs, chose our golf balls, and we were off. There were a few people there with families on the course but we basically had the course to ourselves. It was a course with a practice spot and then 18 holes to play. It was very informative and fun. There were stands at each hole with a set of photos and historical information. Plus the actual course had slight slopes, and a few fun obstacles. After golfing we went inside the small museum. There were several artifacts and some historical information to look at and read about. On a side note they have two bathrooms with soap and running water which is a positive. Overall it was a fun afternoon on a nice day. The mini golf course is fun and informative. This place might honestly be my favorite spot I've ever visited. I love oddities, and they are surprisingly hard to find all together like this. Walking through here felt like running away to the circus in the best way. Every room has something that makes you stop and stare. Shrunken heads, two-headed specimens, medical oddities, freak show history, UFO lore, Movie props and replicas! and so much more. I appreciated that it felt more like a cabinet of curiosities than a haunted house vibe. The exhibits are thoughtfully laid out, and there's a genuine feeling of love for weird history here. It doesn't feel cheesy. You can take your time, read signs, and really soak it all in if you want, or just wander around wide eyed and delighted like me. If you're into oddities, curiosities, circus history, strange science, or just being a little weird inside, this place is an absolute must while you're downtown. I left smiling and already wanting to go back. Honestly, if this is your thing at all, you'll get it immediately. One small but important thing to note, especially for the rest of my disabled community: there is no bathroom on site. While they do let you leave and come back if needed, that still means stepping out and trying to find a restroom on a very busy downtown Austin street. It was honestly really stressful and upsetting for me. However...that didn't ruin the experience for me because I love it so much, but it's definitely something to be aware of and the only reason this lands at 4 stars instead of 5.
