This place is absolutely amazing. A must see if you love animals. They have so many different species from Africa. You get a guide of the animals which is awesome for the kids to see where they are all from. Buy a lot of food. These guys come right up to your car. You throw food on ground, tho be careful. I had an Egland take the whole bag , food and bags . Ate the whole thing. My grandkids loved it just as my as hubs and I did. We did bird tour as well . They land all over you. Amazing. So much fun.

I highly recommend this place. There are plenty animals to see but it's not the same every time you visit. It really is dependent whether the animals are out or not. And I can understand being upset if you don't get your moneys worth. On my recent visit, the buffalos were roaming, the zebras were up close to the cars and the giraffe came out to the car and I got to feed from my sunroof. Such a cool experience. If you want to feed the animals you have to buy food for them. Please do not give them chips or any other food from your personal stash. Those poor animals don't need that!

We had a great experience with the self guided wildlife safari. You can basically drive through the entire 6 miles ranch area in your car and explore at your own pace. It was so cool to see the animals up so close to us. Some of them were freely roaming about and engaging with people who gave them food (the ostriches seemed very hungry) whole larger animals like zebra, giraffe, cheetah and rhinos were tucked behind bars or cages. It took about 2 hours to drive through the entire ranch with a pitstop for drinks at the picnic benches near the tower overlook giraffe enclosure. Overall, a 10/10 wildlife safari that kids and adults will enjoy for sure.

A perfect experience for people of all ages! This made for the perfect day trip with the family where we all loved it. The self-guided tour was awesome at this drive-thru interactive zoo experience. When you enter the park, you purchase your tickets in the drive-thru window. It is a little pricey (about $32 for adults and $22 for children) but absolutely worth the price. If you would like to feed the animals, you can purchase bags of food for about $5 each. The staff recommended one bag per person but since there are no time restrictions for your stay on the ranch, it is worthwhile buying more. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the friendliest animals ready to eat! The sheer amount of exotic animals was spectacular. The drive-thru is estimated to take 1.5-2 hours but it can easily be longer. I also recommend visiting the aviary for an additional $5 per person. The birds are beautiful and incredibly friendly. Watch out because they love to land on your head! This is a must-see spot outside of San Antonio!

We came here visiting from out of town and had a blast! We saw a ton of different animals and an ostrich came over to our car and picked the feed right out of our hands! Such a fun and cool experience! The drive was just long enough. We did have a car behind us speed up and pass us so I think maybe having some rangers out there watching the cars might be beneficial to make sure cars don't go speeding through the area but it was great overall.

We had such a great time here, my 5 year old daughter LOOOOOOOVED it. We got there on a Saturday just around the time they opened and it was cool and empty which was perfect! The park is wide open and clean, and the animals look really happy there in the park. They have room to roam, lots of food, and overall it seems like they're in a resort for animals. Some of the animals aren't really interested in the food you can buy to feed them, as they will be eating the other food that the park gives them. If you're hoping that the animals will all come to your car, you'll probably be disappointed. Some animals were interested in the timothy hay pellets we were allowed to feed them, but most weren't. The funniest animals were the ostriches as we normally don't think of ostriches as something dangerous, but seeing how big they are and their strong legs and the sharp talon on their feet, you realize they're kind of spooky. Whenever they'd come near the car my daughter would jump in the rear of our SUV to hide haha. After we finished the tour with our car, we noticed a lot more cars starting to arrive. We went through the animatronic dinosaur exhibit which funnily enough had dragons and fantasy animals as well. My daughter thought some of them were a little spooky but had a blast with that. The other thing she really enjoyed was being able to feed the budgies. After doing everything, we had a small lunch at the cafe which was decent, and then we decided to drive around one more time! Your ticket allows you to go as many times as you want in the same day, that was a nice touch. This is a great attraction and totally worth it!

I've come here at least 5 times over the years and I have a great time every single time! This is a great place to bring your kids or just come as a couple! It's so fun to see how the animals approach you! They tell not not to feed the animals directly from your hands but a lot of people do feed the more gentler animals and it's so cool to watch! Some of the animals can be a bit aggressive toward the food such as the ostriches but others are quite gentle and are happy to be fed! Some animals block the road a bit so you just have to wait for them to cross or drive around them where possible! The giraffes are in in enclosed areas but most of the other animals do roam freely by the road. The restrooms are found before the safari entrance, where they also have a small restaurant with basic fast food options. This includes fries and burgers, etc. There are no break points during the safari so it's best to use the restroom prior to entering the safari! You pay the entry fee once and you get one bag of feed for free with the entry, but you can go through the safari as many times as you want prior to closing.

I was quite disappointed with this place because I felt like we hardly saw any animals driving through, except for the beginning and the very end. It was a long road through but we would go 10 minutes without seeing an animal. I guess you can't really control what the animals do and I guess maybe that meant the animals weren't hungry meaning they were well fed. It was an okay experience, but I feel like this place was way overpriced compared to the Topsey ranch in Copperas Cove, which had more animals as well. I did enjoy looking at the little monkeys, giraffes, and cheetahs, but felt sad looking at some of the animals as they didn't look well cared for. The kangaroos were all slumped in the corner of their cage and looked very depressed. I hope they were taken care off. I do have to say the bathroom next to the sweet shop inside the ranch was quiet literally the cleanest public bathroom I have ever used in my life. The bird room also seemed really fun and cool and for 5 dollars a great price.

10/10 fun to drive through with a family or partner. Wasn't corny or a scam. It was nice to see all the animals have so much space to roam around, no fear for my car at all. The pavilion was nice to get food and the gift shop was cute. Nothing screamed tourist trap. Felt genuine and worth the price. We did the self drive tour and bought the pellet. Only con was there were clear signs and rules explained when entering and driving around about not hand feeding the animals, even watched two different cars be told by workers to NOT hand feed yet people still did it. The cars told not to made faces and continued anyways. Kinda rude cause there's rules for a reason and it's probably to keep the animals safe from whatever germs have.

So much fun for the whole family!! Whatever you do- be CAREFUL with the emus! They are so aggressive! Reached in the car to take the bag out of my boyfriends hand. At the end, PLEASE go in the little bird room and feed the birds. You will absolutely love it. Makes you feel so in tune with nature. I loved it! Kinda pricey but we loved it.

Been here twice within a month. It's definitely a neat place to check out!! Weekends it usually gets rather packed. You pay entrance fee and can purchase animal feed right there. The drive around the premises is anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on how often you chose to stop. The premises are very well kept and many of the wildlife seems happy and plump lol Very much an experience worth checking out at least once!

One of the worst things about visiting a great zoo is all the walking. This zoo has taken care of that for you! This drive-through zoo gives a few options; self-guided in your car or a guided tour via the tram or Safari Rover. We opted for the self-guided tour and had a blast feeding all the animals. You can see more of our experience on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/8IG4VeU3n30

My fiancé and I stopped by the wildlife ranch this past Easter. We got in around 1:30 pm with not much traffic. Overall we had a great time and will definitely bring friends and family over the next times we come back. Some observations: 1. Families tended to disobey the rules regarding feeding the animals. I saw several children and parents encouraging each other to feed the animals from their hands, screaming when the animal pecked their hand or approached them. Definitely a liability there but I guess that's a risk the families don't mind taking. While we were there, a family actually attempted to open the door of their car to get down. Where's the park ranger?? Not a great situation. 2. It would be nice to see some form of "animals spotted today" sign to have an idea of what animals you can expect to see as weather can vary. That's about it from constructive feedback, overall it was a blast! Highly recommend if you're in the area.

More animals! We spent almost $200 with a discount and the best part was the giraffe that interacted with us. Waste of money and time!!

Was there a price increase on admission? I remember going twice in 2017 but I don't recall paying close to the current price now.

Do you recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time or the day of? Is it cash only?

You can purchase tickets at the entrance (day of) or before. They charge per person. Age 3-10 are one price. Adults another and there is even a senior discount. Yes, you can purchase through Groupon for best deal.

Are there ever any discounts or coupons?

Which is a better town to stay in Blanco or New Braunfels when visiting this?

If you are looking for a lot to do with more choices in restaurants and accommodations, New Braunfels is where you want to be. Gruene is a 'suburb' of New Braunfels and is a very unique place to include in your travels if time allows. I honestly…

The good things are the $10 per vehicle parking on Gembler Rd that includes a shuttle bus to and from the grounds entrance. Also, $5 entrance fee for seniors We only visit the grounds, no shows. The bad: food is stupidly expensive. Fajita Corral - tacos are $4 - $8, nachos $13, cup of corn $7, a BBQ plate is $22!! Hijole!! Outside at the food booths: cheesesteak sandwich $12, elephant ears $12-$14 (these are freakin delicious, better than funnel cake). Water and sodas are $4-$6. Beer is stupid - I saw $12 for a 16oz beer. Can't do it. This is a sampling of prices. I don't see how families can afford to go here. Regular adult grounds admission is $15.
