McKenzie Station Pub has some of the best food I've had in a while absolutely amazing flavors that made the visit worth it. I was seated right away, which was great, but the service was a bit underwhelming. It took about 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our order, and they weren't even that busy at the time. That being said, once the food arrived, it more than made up for the wait. If you're willing to overlook slower service, the food here is definitely worth trying.

I enjoy the vibes but lots are left to be desired here with food and service. We had a reservation but it took fifty minutes just to get our entrees. Our waitress forgot to put in our cocktail order so we waited about 30 minutes for those. The margarita actually was quite good! For dinner I had the steak. Oof! Definitely not medium rare. Pretty good flavor but super tough and no steak knives which made it very hard to cut. The sides it came with - mushrooms/onions, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes were the best part. Not the best ever but pretty good. It's nice to have another option in McKenzie Bridge but this is not my favorite!

Brisket burger... had it with a salad, regretted not got fries or tots... freakin' AWESOME!

If you are old enough, the only summary you need is the intro to U2's Desire... Yeah!... you understand, now go get the burger! For the rest of you... this is a very nice little spot to hang out when you are done hiking, kayaking, or otherwise playing in the woods. I have been a few times, and I have always found the food excellent, especially the smoked meat. I highly recommend the brisket burger shown... enough so I am now contemplating making the hour drive into the hills for another taste! Inside the pub is friendly, family-oriented, and a definite gathering place if a favored game is on. I prefer to sit outside in the mountain air and enjoy the trees while I eat, but to each his/her own. Nice people, a bit understaffed, and can be a little pricey, but well worth a visit.

    Loaded fries with brisket... OMG

Stopped here unexpectedly from a trip up the mountain and suddenly feeling hungry. I do NOT regret stopping here. Outside seating and with fast service. We had the loaded fries: a mountain of fresh crisp fries loaded with brisket... OH My!! Delicious! All hot and cheesy and loaded with meat and Mayo and jalapeños and red sauce and just SCRUMPTIOUS. My belly is still happy just thinking about it

... An oasis near McKenzie Bridge Touring by motorcycle today and enjoying the fall foliage on twisty 242. We arrived around 5pm very hungry and maybe a bit hesitant to enter this expresso spot (it's in the name :) We were pleasantly greeted warmly by the energetic hostess & server "Kelly." Instantly we felt like the "regulars" who also started to arrive shortly after. Summary: We will return, either as a destination trip, perhaps an overnighter or passing through. Either way, we'll make a point of coming back. Our experience was that good. With cool temps, and about 1200 tight curves winding through the pass for 3.5 hours of riding, we knew exactly what we wanted A BURGER!!! If you're a carnivore... well, this is your spot! One of the BEST BURGERS you'll ever enjoy. The staff were all gracious, polite and accommodating helping tune in the Red Sox playoff game while greeting guests and serving the specials of the day ...Brisket smoked for hours, $3 margaritas and BBQ ribs. We selected a brisket burger with an extra slice of brisket on top...layered on a bed of homemade pickles. Also a blue cheese (Blue Pool Burger) with bacon. Both burgers cooked perfectly and with exceptional flavor. We wished we could have enjoyed a cocktail and stayed overnight. GO visit - it's worth it. Enjoy nearby Belknap Springs 5 miles away, hike or just change your environment for the day or weekend. It's worth the trip and we are eager to come back.

That being said, the food I got was not very good. I guess I overestimated what an Asian rice bowl coming from a pub in a small town would be like, but it was much too sweet, salty, and overly sauced to the point where it was like eating a bowl of wet rice. I am not a picky person and will usually eat things that aren't my favorite for the sake of not wasting food, but I really struggled with this. I hate writing bad reviews because I know owning a restaurant is hard, but that is my honest opinion about the food. Warning: if you have dogs, there is a huge vine of grapes attached to the fence of the outdoor seating area out front. We moved to a dingy side area to avoid the possibility of our dogs eating a grape. There were cobwebs under the table and a man walked around us to spray pesticides on the weeds in the concrete, while we were eating and while our dogs were standing there. There was a dog water bowl near where he was spraying that we stayed far away from. Service was fine, but overall, a meh experience.

A Brown Porter that features 2 pounds per barrel of the finest Belgian dark chocolate, creating a slightly roasty brew with chocolaty satin finish. The beer was fine . My burger was over cooked for me. I wasn't given the option of how I wanted it cooked. I should have mentioned that when ordering . Most restaurant servers would ask you that question when ordering a burger. I would try something different if and when we make another appearance.

I can't for sure say but when we were ordering at the bar the staff was trying to figure out the system and it took a while then by the end I had to remind them to poor our beers. The prices are quit expensive a smash burger for $18 for example and 12 wings for $24. The smash burger was about the size of an in and out burger and was very dry, and honestly not a smash burger. They did have it encrusted in cheese I think but it was hard to tell. I choose fries for my side and asked if they offered Cajun and they said yes. Look at my picture and see if you can find any Cajun. Very light dusting. Not surprising when those making your food are high school kids. Sadly the bummer part was we are got so few fries. The order was messed up a bit in how it was delivered not a big deal but when we bit into the avacado for the avocado burger it was literally hard avocado. Not sure how you even serve it but again see above comment. There was inside and outside seating so that part was good but not a lot of ambiance. I literally broke out laughing when the delivered the wings as on the menu it says comes with carrots. Well that is true not sure what I'm suppose to do with shaved carrots? Maybe I should have asked for some ranch and turn it into a carrot salad. I guess in the end you eat there if you're golfing and hungry. Otherwise don't make the trip on the food occasion.
